It has become a tradition now for the Feast of the Blessing of the Water in our Metropolis to be celebrated in the city of Saranda with majesty. This is due to the fact that the Ionian Sea is close to the church. The Liturgy was led by the Metropolitan of Gjirokastra, His Grace Dhimitri. Besides the numerous believers, also present were the Consul of the Greek Consulate of Gjirokastra, Mr. Nicholas Kotrokois, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Mr. Spiro Ksera, the Mayor of Livadhja, Mr. Irodh Dalani and the Mayor of Finiqi, Mr. Sokrat Spiro. The Cross this year was picked up by a young man from Saranda named Foti. This great feast was received with so much joy also in the city of Përmet where the cross was thrown into the waters of the River Vjosa.
