The anniversary of the Flag Raising in Tirana, on November 26, 1912, was marked by several events organized by the municipality of the city. First, the Mayor, Mr. Veliaj, received representatives from the families who participated in this important event as well as representatives from the religious communities.
During a warm conversation, he gave the families and the religious communities the Medal of Appreciation of the Municipality of Tirana. The Medal for the Orthodox Community was handed to the Bishop of Byllis, His Grace Asti.
Afterwards, everyone headed to the Independence Monument, in the Youth Park, to inaugurate its restoration which had been conducted by the Municipality of Tirana. The event ended on the eve of the national holidays.
