Fruit of the Holy Spirit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. (Gal. 5:22)

The Christian Education Dept. of the Resurrection of Christ Theological Academy, led by Anastasia Pamela Barksdale, M.Div. on August 20-26, 2012, conducted three day camps in Shen Vlash and Rrushkull villages and Apostle Paul and St. Asti in Durres as part of the teacher training program for the Seminary students. St. Nicholas Church in Kavajes held their day camp the first week in September. The theme of the camp was, “The Fruit of the Holy Spirit Helps Us to Love God and Our Neighbor.” Fourteen students and 132 children participated in the program. The training focused on developing interactive teaching skills, creating and using visual aids, asking questions and facilitating group discussions and using dramatics in teaching. The children learned and memorized Bible verses related to the fruit of the Holy Spirit:  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. (Gal. 5:22)

On Sunday the children at the Apostle Paul and St. Asti Church in Durres performed songs they learned and a poem for their parents after the Divine Liturgy. The children and teachers learned about God’s love, sang songs, played games, and enjoyed the week together and look forward to the beginning of the catechism program in October. The day camp at St. Nikolas Church in Kavajes was held the first week of September.
