Nj\u00ebri q\u00ebndronte n\u00eb Afrik\u00ebn e larg\u00ebt dhe tjetri n\u00eb Cezare, por t\u00eb dy ndanin t\u00eb nj\u00ebjt\u00ebn rrug\u00eb t\u00eb zjarrt\u00eb p\u00ebr n\u00eb parajs\u00eb. Sh\u00ebn Polyektos vinte nga Cezarea, ku me shum\u00eb zell u predikoi bashkatdhetar\u00ebve fjal\u00ebn e Krishtit. Fjala e tij kishte aq fuqi sa shum\u00eb pagan\u00eb lan\u00eb idhujt dhe p\u00ebrqafuan me g\u00ebzim besimin e krishter\u00eb. Autoritetet e koh\u00ebs nuk vonuan t\u00eb reagojn\u00eb p\u00ebr suksesin e k\u00ebtij predikimi. E arrestuan Polyeuktin dhe e hodh\u00ebn t\u00eb lidhur n\u00eb nj\u00eb burg t\u00eb err\u00ebt, q\u00eb t&#x27;i d\u00ebshtonte durimi. Pasuan k\u00ebshilla dhe k\u00ebrc\u00ebnime t\u00eb pand\u00ebrprera, q\u00eb ai t\u00eb mohonte Krishtin dhe t\u00eb kthehej te idhujt. Por ai q\u00ebndroi i pal\u00ebkundur si nj\u00eb shk\u00ebmb, duke rr\u00ebfyer n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb sfiduese besimin e tij. M\u00eb pas xhelat\u00ebt ia shqyen gjith\u00eb trupin me kthetra hekuri, duke e kthyer mishin n\u00eb plag\u00eb. Pastaj ia thyen me dhun\u00eb nofull\u00ebn, p\u00ebr t\u00eb heshtur goj\u00ebn q\u00eb predikonte. M\u00eb n\u00eb fund e hodh\u00ebn t\u00eb gjall\u00eb n\u00eb nj\u00eb furr\u00eb t\u00eb zjarrt\u00eb, ku ia dor\u00ebzoi shpirtin Zotit. N\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjt\u00ebn koh\u00eb, n\u00eb pjes\u00ebt e Mauritanis\u00eb, me t\u00eb nj\u00ebjtin zell vepronte dhjaku Timotheus. Ai predikoi pa u lodhur fjal\u00ebn e s\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00ebs, duke udh\u00ebhequr turma pagan\u00ebsh n\u00eb drit\u00ebn e jet\u00ebs s\u00eb krishter\u00eb. Ai pag\u00ebzoi shpirtra dhe katekizoi ata q\u00eb k\u00ebrkuan t\u00eb njihnin shp\u00ebtimin e Krishtit. Veprimi i tij m\u00ebrziti shpejt zot\u00ebrit vendas, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt donin t\u00eb ndalonin luft\u00ebn e tij. Arrestuan dhjakun dhe e t\u00ebrhoq\u00ebn zvarr\u00eb n\u00eb gjykat\u00eb, duke k\u00ebrkuar q\u00eb ai t\u00eb flijonte p\u00ebr idhujt. Kur ai refuzoi me vendosm\u00ebri, xhelat\u00ebt i n\u00ebnshtruan torturave t\u00eb shumta dhe t\u00eb r\u00ebnda, por pa rezultat. E fut\u00ebn n\u00eb burg dhe e lan\u00eb aty t\u00eb vuante nga uria dhe etja. Pastaj e nxorr\u00ebn p\u00ebrs\u00ebri p\u00ebrpara gjykat\u00ebsve p\u00ebr t\u00eb v\u00ebn\u00eb n\u00eb prov\u00eb q\u00ebndrueshm\u00ebrin\u00eb e tij. Kur pan\u00eb se ai nuk do t\u00eb p\u00ebrkulej p\u00ebr asgj\u00eb, i p\u00ebrgatit\u00ebn nj\u00eb zjarr t\u00eb madh. Timoteu u ngjit me lutje dhe k\u00ebndim n\u00eb flak\u00eb, sikur t\u00eb ngjitej n\u00eb nj\u00eb fron nderi. Ishin t\u00eb pranish\u00ebm edhe njer\u00ebzit e tij, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt qanin me hidh\u00ebrim p\u00ebr fundin e tij. Por ai i ngush\u00eblloi me paqe dhe g\u00ebzim, duke rr\u00ebfyer shpres\u00ebn e tij te Shp\u00ebtimtari.
