Kur u kthye n\u00eb sht\u00ebpi i ngarkuar me l\u00ebmosh\u00eb, e gjeti fronin e tij t\u00eb uzurpuar dhe veten t\u00eb tradhtuar nga komisari i tij. Sh\u00ebn Gavriili vinte nga familja fisnike serbe e Rai\u00e7it dhe u ngjit n\u00eb fronin kryepeshkopat\u00eb t\u00eb Peciumit n\u00eb vite t\u00eb v\u00ebshtira. Populli serb ishte i shtypur r\u00ebnd\u00eb nga dinastia turke dhe Kisha r\u00ebnkonte n\u00eb varf\u00ebri. Me lejen e posa\u00e7me t\u00eb turqve, Patriarku u nis n\u00eb vitin 1655 p\u00ebr n\u00eb Vllahi dhe Rusi p\u00ebr t\u00eb mbledhur para p\u00ebr nevojat e Kish\u00ebs Orthodhokse Serbe. N\u00eb Mosk\u00eb ai u prit ngroht\u00ebsisht nga Car Aleksi dhe mori pjes\u00eb n\u00eb nj\u00eb Sinod t\u00eb madh s\u00eb bashku me Patriarkun e Antiokis\u00eb. Ky Sinod ishte thirrur nga cari p\u00ebr korrigjimin e librave liturgjik\u00eb t\u00eb Kish\u00ebs Ruse. Gavriili mori pjes\u00eb si hierark i barabart\u00eb midis patriark\u00ebve t\u00eb m\u00ebdhenj t\u00eb Lindjes dhe kontribuoi me njohurit\u00eb e tij. Pastaj u kthye n\u00eb Serbi duke sjell\u00eb l\u00ebmosh\u00eb t\u00eb pasur p\u00ebr popullin e tij. Por n\u00eb Serbi e priste nj\u00eb surpriz\u00eb e hidhur q\u00eb do t&#x27;i ndryshonte jet\u00ebn. Komisari i tij, bullgari Maksimos, e kishte shpifur tashm\u00eb tek turqit se gjoja po komplotonte kund\u00ebr pushtetit osman dhe po minonte shtetin. Maksimi p\u00ebrfitoi nga mungesa e Patriarkut dhe pushtoi vet\u00eb fronin e kryepeshkopat\u00ebs s\u00eb Peciumit me bekimet e autoriteteve. Kur Xhibrili mb\u00ebrriti nga Rusia dhe pa komisarin e tij n\u00eb vend t\u00eb tij, nuk e pranoi k\u00ebt\u00eb padrejt\u00ebsi. Ai nd\u00ebrmori veprime p\u00ebr t\u00eb rivendosur rendin ligjor n\u00eb Kish\u00eb dhe p\u00ebr t\u00eb hequr uzurpatorin. Maksimi nuk u tremb fare dhe vrapoi menj\u00ebher\u00eb n\u00eb Bursa, ku Sulltani ishte n\u00eb at\u00eb koh\u00eb me vezirin. K\u00ebshtu Patriarku u p\u00ebrball me prov\u00ebn m\u00eb t\u00eb v\u00ebshtir\u00eb t\u00eb jet\u00ebs s\u00eb tij. N\u00eb Bursa, Veziri e mori n\u00eb pyetje hierarkun me kujdes p\u00ebr at\u00eb q\u00eb i ishte ankuar. Shum\u00eb shpejt ai u bind se t\u00eb gjitha akuzat ishin shpif\u00ebse dhe se Gavriili ishte i pafajsh\u00ebm p\u00ebr \u00e7do faj politik. Por n\u00eb vend q\u00eb ta lironte, ai propozoi di\u00e7ka shum\u00eb m\u00eb t\u00eb keqe se nj\u00eb d\u00ebnim p\u00ebr tradhti. Ai i k\u00ebrkoi atij t\u00eb mohonte Krishtin dhe t\u00eb p\u00ebrqafonte fen\u00eb myslimane n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb q\u00eb t\u00eb merrte nderime, pozita dhe pasuri. Hierarku i shenjt\u00eb i hodhi posht\u00eb me vendosm\u00ebri propozimet dhe deklaroi se nuk do ta tradhtonte kurr\u00eb besimin e tij. Ai q\u00ebndroi i pal\u00ebkundur n\u00eb rr\u00ebfimin e tij p\u00ebr Krishtin, megjith\u00ebse i dinte shum\u00eb mir\u00eb pasojat e tmerrshme q\u00eb e prisnin. M\u00eb pas, turqit iu n\u00ebnshtruan torturave mizore dhe \u00e7njer\u00ebzore, q\u00eb t&#x27;i thyhej q\u00ebndresa. Patriarku i duroi me guxim t\u00eb gjitha sprovat dhe e mbajti gjall\u00eb rr\u00ebfimin e tij deri n\u00eb fund. Ai u var m\u00eb n\u00eb fund m\u00eb 13 dhjetor t\u00eb nj\u00eb mij\u00eb e gjasht\u00ebqind e pes\u00ebdhjet\u00eb e n\u00ebnt\u00eb dhe shpirti i tij fluturoi te Zoti.
