Pak m\u00eb von\u00eb, nj\u00eb fisnik i Kostandinopoj\u00ebs, i fryr\u00eb nga droga e r\u00ebnd\u00eb, u \u00e7ua n\u00eb qeli dhe u largua prej andej fare mir\u00eb, pas nj\u00eb vajosjeje t\u00eb thjesht\u00eb me vajin e shandanit. Por jeta e shenjtorit filloi shum\u00eb larg k\u00ebtyre momenteve t\u00eb lavdis\u00eb. Ai lindi n\u00eb Teb\u00eb t\u00eb Egjiptit, n\u00eb nj\u00eb familje t\u00eb krishter\u00ebsh t\u00eb devotsh\u00ebm, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt e rrit\u00ebn me frik\u00ebn e Zotit dhe me dashurin\u00eb p\u00ebr lutjen. Kur arriti pjekurin\u00eb, ai p\u00ebr\u00e7moi kot\u00ebsin\u00eb e bot\u00ebs dhe ua shp\u00ebrndau trash\u00ebgimin\u00eb e tij t\u00eb varf\u00ebrve t\u00eb qytetit t\u00eb tij. Pastaj u nis p\u00ebr n\u00eb shkret\u00ebtir\u00ebn e Egjiptit, ku filloi st\u00ebrvitjen e ashp\u00ebr, me agj\u00ebrim, vigjilje dhe lutje t\u00eb pand\u00ebrprer\u00eb. Atje jetoi p\u00ebr vite me radh\u00eb si murg i p\u00ebrulur, larg rr\u00ebmuj\u00ebs s\u00eb bot\u00ebs. Por flaka e Frym\u00ebs s\u00eb Shenjt\u00eb brenda tij nuk mund t\u00eb q\u00ebndronte e fshehur p\u00ebrgjithmon\u00eb para njer\u00ebzve. Pak nga pak emri i asketit arriti n\u00eb vesh\u00ebt e shum\u00eb t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt filluan t\u00eb dynden n\u00eb qelin\u00eb e tij t\u00eb varf\u00ebr. T\u00eb tjer\u00eb k\u00ebrkonin k\u00ebshilla p\u00ebr shp\u00ebtimin e tyre, t\u00eb tjer\u00eb ngush\u00ebllim n\u00eb pik\u00ebllime dhe t\u00eb tjer\u00eb sh\u00ebrim nga s\u00ebmundje t\u00eb r\u00ebnda. \u00c7do udh\u00ebtari t\u00eb lodhur i ofroi prehje, mikpritje dhe ligj\u00ebrim shpirt\u00ebror plot zgjuarsi dhe dashuri. Por ai vet\u00eb vuajti, sepse i ishte nd\u00ebrprer\u00eb paqja dhe lavd\u00ebrimet e njer\u00ebzve k\u00ebrc\u00ebnuan me posht\u00ebrimin e tij. Ai shkoi n\u00eb Kostandinopoj\u00eb dhe nd\u00ebrtoi nj\u00eb qeli t\u00eb vog\u00ebl pran\u00eb murit t\u00eb qytetit, pran\u00eb tempullit t\u00eb famsh\u00ebm Blacherna. Atje ai banoi i panjohur mes turm\u00ebs s\u00eb kryeqytetit t\u00eb madh, duke biseduar vet\u00ebm me Per\u00ebndin\u00eb n\u00eb lutjen e tij t\u00eb pand\u00ebrprer\u00eb. Por, si\u00e7 thot\u00eb Zoti, nj\u00eb qytet i ngritur mbi nj\u00eb mal nuk mund t\u00eb fshihet. Me fuqin\u00eb e kryqit t\u00eb nderuar dhe me thirrjen e emrit t\u00eb Krishtit, ai d\u00ebboi shpirtin e ndyr\u00eb, i cili doli nga buz\u00ebt e t\u00eb riut si tym. Nj\u00eb grua vuante nga nj\u00eb plag\u00eb e tmerrshme n\u00eb gjoks dhe krimbat po i hanin mishin me dhimbje torturuese. Ai me lot dhe besim ra te k\u00ebmb\u00ebt e shenjtorit, duke k\u00ebrkuar m\u00ebshir\u00eb dhe sh\u00ebrim nga s\u00ebmundja e r\u00ebnd\u00eb. Ai b\u00ebri shenj\u00ebn e kryqit mbi plag\u00ebn dhe gruaja u sh\u00ebrua, duke lavd\u00ebruar Zotin gjat\u00eb gjith\u00eb rrug\u00ebs. K\u00ebshtu, me lutje, jet\u00eb asketike dhe mrekulli, ai mb\u00ebshteti shpirtra t\u00eb panum\u00ebrt n\u00eb qytet. Sa m\u00eb shum\u00eb ai zhytej n\u00eb doktrin\u00ebn e Per\u00ebndis\u00eb, aq m\u00eb shum\u00eb hiri i Frym\u00ebs s\u00eb Shenjt\u00eb zbriste mbi t\u00eb. Ai fjeti i qet\u00eb n\u00eb Zotin, i rrethuar nga murgj dhe asket\u00eb nga vendet p\u00ebrreth, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt vajtonin p\u00ebr humbjen e babait t\u00eb tyre. Por n\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjt\u00ebn koh\u00eb ata u g\u00ebzuan, sepse e dinin se ai po hynte n\u00eb lavdin\u00eb e p\u00ebrjetshme pran\u00eb Krishtit, t\u00eb cilin ai e donte aq shum\u00eb.
