I pari i malit Athos Kozmai i Vatopedinos \u00ebsht\u00eb varur publikisht p\u00ebrpara Protatit, n\u00eb vendin e quajtur Chalkos. Martirizimi ndodhi gjat\u00eb viteve t\u00eb perandorit Mihail Palaiologu i Tet\u00eb, i cili ishte braktisur nga Ortodoksia dhe mb\u00ebshteti Patriarkun me mendje latine, Joani Veccus. Emisar\u00ebt pro-latin u ngjit\u00ebn n\u00eb malin Athos p\u00ebr t\u00eb forcuar bashkimin me Rom\u00ebn dhe p\u00ebr t&#x27;i detyruar murgjit t\u00eb pranonin doktrinat latine. Sipas nj\u00eb tradite, vet\u00eb perandori udh\u00ebhoqi grupin ushtarak q\u00eb mb\u00ebrriti n\u00eb Karyes. Akti i tyre i par\u00eb ishte urdh\u00ebrimi i mbledhjes s\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00eb murgjve nga qelit\u00eb p\u00ebrreth n\u00eb qendr\u00ebn administrative t\u00eb Malit. Q\u00ebllimi i tyre ishte t\u00eb bindnin shenjtor\u00ebt, t\u00eb udh\u00ebhequr nga i pari, q\u00eb t\u00eb pranonin bashkimin. Por p\u00ebrgjigja ishte nj\u00eb, e qart\u00eb dhe pa kompromis, pa hezitim e pa frik\u00eb p\u00ebrball\u00eb k\u00ebrc\u00ebnimeve t\u00eb p\u00ebrfaq\u00ebsuesve t\u00eb fuqish\u00ebm t\u00eb pallatit. T\u00eb gjith\u00eb s\u00eb bashku, Protos dhe murgj, deklaruan se jan\u00eb t\u00eb gatsh\u00ebm t\u00eb d\u00ebshmojn\u00eb p\u00ebr besimin ortodoks, t\u00eb vetmin e v\u00ebrtet\u00eb. M\u00eb kot emisar\u00ebt e perandorit i k\u00ebrc\u00ebnuan murgjit me ferr dhe i pari me trek\u00ebmb\u00ebshin. Me paturp\u00ebsi dhe gatishm\u00ebri p\u00ebr martirizim ata fol\u00ebn kund\u00ebr bashkimit me p\u00ebrfaq\u00ebsuesit e Pap\u00ebs. Kur dialogu u konsiderua i pafrytsh\u00ebm, latin\u00ebt filluan torturat me mizori. Por sa m\u00eb shum\u00eb i torturonin shenjtor\u00ebt, aq m\u00eb fort ata shpallnin besimin ortodoks mes dhimbjes. K\u00ebshtu u urdh\u00ebrua vdekja mizore, trek\u00ebmb\u00ebshi p\u00ebr t\u00eb Par\u00eb t\u00eb Malit Athos dhe therje p\u00ebr murgjit. Ushtar\u00ebt nxituan n\u00eb manastirin e Protatit, i vun\u00eb zjarrin tempullit t\u00eb famsh\u00ebm, i cili ishte e vetmja bazilik\u00eb n\u00eb malin Oros dhe pla\u00e7kit\u00ebn banesat e vetmuara. N\u00eb at\u00eb sulm ran\u00eb martir murgjit nga manastiret e shenjta t\u00eb Vatopedit, Iveronit, Zografut dhe Ksenofontit. Ata q\u00eb ishin fshehur n\u00eb shpellat p\u00ebrreth Karyes u gjet\u00ebn nga ndjek\u00ebsit dhe u vran\u00eb me shpata. Toka e shenjt\u00eb u p\u00ebrlye me gjakun e tyre dhe turma e besimtar\u00ebve i ofroi Per\u00ebndis\u00eb adhurimin e tyre t\u00eb fundit. Hierodeakoni Arkadios Vatopedinos shp\u00ebtoi informacione t\u00eb vlefshme p\u00ebr jet\u00ebn dhe vdekjen e Kozmait t\u00eb Par\u00eb pas gati tridhjet\u00eb vjet k\u00ebrkimi. Thuhet se Eksarkia Patriarkale, e cila erdhi n\u00eb Malin Athos p\u00ebr t\u00eb zgjidhur mosmarr\u00ebveshjet e brendshme, vendosi t\u00eb d\u00ebrgoj\u00eb t\u00eb Par\u00eb nga manastiret e Falakros ose Plakas. K\u00ebshtu u zgjodh Kosmasi nga manastiri i Plakeos, i cili ndodhej midis manastirit Vatopedi dhe Esfimenou, n\u00eb vendin q\u00eb sot quhet Zevgarospita. Ky prij\u00ebs i bekuar u vra nga latinist\u00ebt, pasi fillimisht kishte kontrolluar n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb sfiduese herezin\u00eb q\u00eb i ishte paraqitur. Agioreit\u00ebt u treguan shk\u00ebmbinj t\u00eb pal\u00ebkundur n\u00eb Karyes p\u00ebrball\u00eb presioneve dhe metodave torturuese t\u00eb persekutor\u00ebve. Gjaku i tyre u ngjit n\u00eb qiell bashk\u00eb me shpirtrat e tyre si temjan aromatike p\u00ebrpara Per\u00ebndis\u00eb. Nj\u00eb sekuenc\u00eb e plot\u00eb asmatike dhe nj\u00eb rregull lut\u00ebs p\u00ebr nder t\u00eb Kozmait t\u00eb Par\u00eb dhe atyre q\u00eb konkurruan me t\u00eb, u p\u00ebrpiluan nga himnologu, hieromonku Athanasi Simonopetritis. K\u00ebshtu Kisha e mban t\u00eb gjall\u00eb rr\u00ebfimin e atyre baballar\u00ebve, q\u00eb parap\u00eblqenin vdekjen sesa tradhtin\u00eb e besimit. Karyes, zemra e administrimit t\u00eb Malit, mbetet nj\u00eb vend i shenjt\u00ebruar nga gjaku i d\u00ebshmor\u00ebve.
