N\u00eb shenj\u00eb fal\u00ebnderimi p\u00ebr mrekullin\u00eb, Sh\u00ebn Joanii i Damaskut gozhdoi nj\u00eb dor\u00eb argjendi n\u00eb ikon\u00ebn dhe k\u00ebshtu ajo mori emrin Tricheroussa. Historia e ikon\u00ebs na kthen n\u00eb shekullin e n\u00ebnt\u00eb, vitet e ikonoklazm\u00ebs s\u00eb tmerrshme, kur perandor\u00ebt luftuan me furi kund\u00ebr ikonave t\u00eb shenjta t\u00eb besimtar\u00ebve. Sh\u00ebn Joanii, studiues dhe poet i Damaskut, mbrojti nderin e ikonave t\u00eb shenjta me shkrimet e tij. Perandori ikonoklastik Leo Isauri i Tret\u00eb, i cili mbret\u00ebroi nga shtat\u00ebqind e shtat\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb deri n\u00eb shtat\u00ebqind e dyzet, e shpif n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb t\u00eb shpifur te halifi i Damaskut. Ai paraqiti letra t\u00eb falsifikuara dhe e akuzoi p\u00ebr veprime tradhtare kund\u00ebr shtetit mysliman. Kalifi e besoi shpifjen dhe menj\u00ebher\u00eb urdh\u00ebroi t&#x27;i prisnin dor\u00ebn e djatht\u00eb shenjtorit. Ai an\u00ebtar i paprer\u00eb, i cili shkroi n\u00eb favor t\u00eb Ortodoksis\u00eb, u var n\u00eb sy t\u00eb publikut n\u00eb tregun e qytetit si nj\u00eb shembull nd\u00ebshkimi. N\u00eb mbr\u00ebmje, Sh\u00ebn Joanii i k\u00ebrkoi halifit t&#x27;i dor\u00ebzonte dor\u00ebn e tij t\u00eb prer\u00eb dhe ai mori leje. M\u00eb pas, brenda n\u00eb qeli e vendosi dor\u00ebn n\u00eb pozicionin e saj natyral dhe u rr\u00ebzua n\u00eb gjunj\u00eb para imazhit t\u00eb Hyjlind\u00ebs. Me lot iu lut Hyjlind\u00ebses t\u00eb sh\u00ebronte an\u00ebtarin q\u00eb i kishte sh\u00ebrbyer t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00ebs s\u00eb besimit. Pas shum\u00eb lutjesh e zuri gjumi dhe pa Hyjlind\u00ebse n\u00eb vegim. Ajo i premtoi sh\u00ebrim t\u00eb shpejt\u00eb dhe e urdh\u00ebroi t\u00eb punonte pa hezitim me t\u00eb nj\u00ebjt\u00ebn dor\u00eb p\u00ebr lavdin\u00eb e Zotit. M\u00eb von\u00eb, shenjtori mori figur\u00ebn monastike n\u00eb Lavr\u00ebn e Sh\u00ebn Sava t\u00eb Igiasmenos dhe prezantoi atje ikon\u00ebn e tij t\u00eb mrekullueshme.
