Osh\u00ebnar Athanasi praktikonte n\u00eb Lavr\u00ebn e famshme t\u00eb Shpellave t\u00eb Kievit, n\u00eb nj\u00eb koh\u00eb kur jeta monastike po lul\u00ebzonte n\u00eb rajonet ruse. Murgjit e trajtuan me nderim, e pastruan trupin dhe e mb\u00ebshtoll\u00ebn me qefin, si\u00e7 i ka hije murgut t\u00eb fjetur. Por, p\u00ebr disa arsye q\u00eb nuk p\u00ebrmenden qart\u00eb, varrimi u vonua dhe i ndjeri q\u00ebndroi i pavarrosur p\u00ebr dy dit\u00eb n\u00eb manastir. Nat\u00ebn, abati pa nj\u00eb vegim t\u00eb \u00e7uditsh\u00ebm dhe d\u00ebgjoi qart\u00eb nj\u00eb z\u00eb q\u00eb i thoshte se njeriu i Zotit Athanasi ishte varrosur p\u00ebr dy dit\u00eb pa u interesuar askush. Sapo zbardhi agimi, igumeni mblodhi v\u00ebllez\u00ebrit dhe u drejtua p\u00ebr n\u00eb qelin\u00eb e t\u00eb fjeturit, p\u00ebr ta varrosur m\u00eb n\u00eb fund. Por kur hap\u00ebn der\u00ebn, pan\u00eb di\u00e7ka q\u00eb u ngriu gjaku dhe u mbeti pa frym\u00eb me frik\u00eb. Ai thjesht po u thoshte t\u00eb shp\u00ebtonin veten, duke mos shtuar asgj\u00eb m\u00eb shum\u00eb p\u00ebr at\u00eb q\u00eb kishte par\u00eb p\u00ebrtej varrit. V\u00ebllez\u00ebrit k\u00ebmb\u00ebngul\u00ebn me lot dhe lutje se ai do t\u00eb zbulonte di\u00e7ka t\u00eb dobishme p\u00ebr shpirtrat e tyre. At\u00ebher\u00eb murgu i ringjallur u tha atyre se n\u00ebse ai do t&#x27;u fliste, ata nuk do t\u00eb besonin dhe d\u00ebgjonin k\u00ebshillat e tij. Murgjit u betuan para Zotit se do t\u00eb respektonin sakt\u00ebsisht gjith\u00e7ka q\u00eb ai do t&#x27;i urdh\u00ebronte me goj\u00ebn e tij. M\u00eb n\u00eb fund ai hapi zemr\u00ebn dhe u dha atyre tre porosi t\u00eb \u00e7muara, si thesare nga bota tjet\u00ebr. Ai u k\u00ebrkoi atyre q\u00eb t\u00eb ken\u00eb bindje t\u00eb p\u00ebrsosur ndaj abatit n\u00eb \u00e7do gj\u00eb, pa kontradikta dhe llogaritje mendjevog\u00eblore. Ai u theksoi atyre se k\u00ebto tri virtyte i kalojn\u00eb t\u00eb gjitha t\u00eb tjerat dhe i japin njeriut lumturi t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00eb. Menj\u00ebher\u00eb pas k\u00ebtyre fjal\u00ebve, Athanasi u drejtua drejt shpell\u00ebs s\u00eb asketizmit, pa e kthyer nj\u00eb her\u00eb kok\u00ebn pas. Ai mbylli dyert nga brenda dhe q\u00ebndroi aty plot dymb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb vjet, duke mos dal\u00eb kurr\u00eb p\u00ebr asnj\u00eb arsye. Nj\u00eb dit\u00eb i shenjt\u00eb Athanasi i doli i gjall\u00eb dhe \u00ebmb\u00eblsisht i tha q\u00eb t\u00eb vinte tek ai n\u00eb shpell\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb gjetur sh\u00ebrimin e tij. Vavylas donte ta pyeste se si dhe kur u kthye n\u00eb manastir, por shenjtori u zhduk papritur para syve t\u00eb tij. Ai i besoi menj\u00ebher\u00eb vegimit dhe u k\u00ebrkoi v\u00ebllez\u00ebrve ta \u00e7onin te varri i asketit t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb. Sapo preku p\u00eblhur\u00ebn e shenjt\u00eb, u b\u00eb plot\u00ebsisht mir\u00eb dhe nuk u s\u00ebmur m\u00eb n\u00eb jet\u00ebn e tij nga ndonj\u00eb s\u00ebmundje.
