Murgjit jetuan n\u00eb shekullin e kat\u00ebrt, kur Indit\u00eb sundoheshin nga nj\u00eb sundimtar armiq\u00ebsor me fanatiz\u00ebm ndaj krishterimit. Abneri i urrente t\u00eb krishter\u00ebt, sepse pa shum\u00eb nga njer\u00ebzit e tij t\u00eb linin idhujt dhe t\u00eb ndiqnin Krishtin. Zem\u00ebrimi i tij u b\u00eb edhe m\u00eb i madh kur m\u00ebsoi se disa prej tyre po b\u00ebheshin edhe murgj. K\u00ebshtu ai nxori nj\u00eb dekret dhe u k\u00ebrkoi t\u00eb gjith\u00eb besimtar\u00ebve q\u00eb menj\u00ebher\u00eb ta mohonin besimin e tyre. Ata q\u00eb nuk iu bind\u00ebn u p\u00ebrball\u00ebn me tortura t\u00eb tmerrshme dhe vdekje para syve t\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00ebve. Mbreti kishte nj\u00eb urrejtje t\u00eb ve\u00e7ant\u00eb p\u00ebr murgjit dhe i persekutonte pa m\u00ebshir\u00eb. Disa t\u00eb krishter\u00eb nuk i duruan dot torturat e tmerrshme dhe iu n\u00ebnshtruan k\u00ebrkesave t\u00eb sundimtarit mizor. Por murgjit q\u00ebndruan para tij dhe me tallje kontrolluan munges\u00ebn e respektit dhe brutalitetin e tij. T\u00eb tjer\u00ebt ik\u00ebn n\u00eb shkret\u00ebtira dhe male, pa syrin e ushtar\u00ebve t\u00eb mbretit. T\u00eb tjer\u00eb zgjodh\u00ebn rrug\u00ebn e martirizimit dhe i dhan\u00eb jet\u00ebn Krishtit me g\u00ebzim. Kur lindi djali i Joshapit, Abneri ndjeu nj\u00eb g\u00ebzim t\u00eb madh dhe p\u00ebrgatiti nj\u00eb banket t\u00eb pasur p\u00ebr t\u00eb gjith\u00eb popullin e tij. Midis t\u00eb ftuarve ishin pes\u00ebdhjet\u00eb e pes\u00eb astrolog\u00eb, t\u00eb cil\u00ebve iu k\u00ebrkua t\u00eb profetizonin t\u00eb ardhmen e f\u00ebmij\u00ebs. Ata fol\u00ebn p\u00ebrgjith\u00ebsisht p\u00ebr pasuri t\u00eb m\u00ebdha dhe fuqi t\u00eb jasht\u00ebzakonshme, duke th\u00ebn\u00eb se ai do t&#x27;i kalonte t\u00eb gjith\u00eb mbret\u00ebrit e m\u00ebparsh\u00ebm. Por nj\u00ebri, m\u00eb i men\u00e7uri nga t\u00eb gjith\u00eb, foli ndryshe dhe profetizoi me guxim para mbretit. Ai tha se f\u00ebmija nuk do t\u00eb pasonte t\u00eb atin, por do t\u00eb hynte n\u00eb nj\u00eb mbret\u00ebri tjet\u00ebr, pakrahasueshme m\u00eb t\u00eb madhe dhe t\u00eb p\u00ebrjetshme. Ai madje shtoi se Joasafi i vog\u00ebl do t\u00eb b\u00ebhej i krishter\u00eb n\u00eb t\u00eb ardhmen. Kur mbreti d\u00ebgjoi k\u00ebt\u00eb profeci, u mbush me zem\u00ebrim dhe pik\u00ebllim t\u00eb thell\u00eb. Ndaj mori menj\u00ebher\u00eb masa p\u00ebr t\u00eb penguar n\u00eb \u00e7do m\u00ebnyr\u00eb p\u00ebrmbushjen e fjal\u00ebve t\u00eb astrologut t\u00eb urt\u00eb. Ai nd\u00ebrtoi nj\u00eb pallat t\u00eb madh dhe mbylli djalin e tij t\u00eb vog\u00ebl brenda, larg bot\u00ebs. Ai nuk lejoi ask\u00ebnd t&#x27;i afrohej f\u00ebmij\u00ebs, p\u00ebrve\u00e7 disa m\u00ebsuesve q\u00eb kishte zgjedhur vet\u00eb. Kushdo q\u00eb zbulohej pas k\u00ebtij afati do t\u00eb d\u00ebnohej menj\u00ebher\u00eb me vdekje. Kaluan disa vite dhe mbreti d\u00ebrgoi k\u00ebshilltarin e tij t\u00eb par\u00eb, Arachis, thell\u00eb n\u00eb shkret\u00ebtir\u00eb. Misioni i tij ishte t\u00eb gjente Sh\u00ebn Barlaamin, at\u00eb q\u00eb kishte pag\u00ebzuar fshehurazi Princin Joasaph. Ushtar\u00ebt k\u00ebrkuan rajonet e shkret\u00ebtir\u00ebs dhe vendet m\u00eb t\u00eb larg\u00ebta, por nuk e gjet\u00ebn askund plakun. Por gjat\u00eb rrug\u00ebs takuan shtat\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb murgj, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt po ecnin t\u00eb qet\u00eb n\u00eb shpatet e nj\u00eb mali t\u00eb lart\u00eb. Por murgjit me k\u00ebmb\u00ebngulje refuzuan t\u00eb zbulojn\u00eb vendndodhjen e m\u00ebsuesit t\u00eb tyre t\u00eb vjet\u00ebr. K\u00ebshilltari i k\u00ebrc\u00ebnoi hapur se n\u00ebse nuk do ta dor\u00ebzonin, do t&#x27;i priste nj\u00eb vdekje mizore. Ata u p\u00ebrgjigj\u00ebn me qet\u00ebsi se nuk kishin aspak frik\u00eb nga vdekja p\u00ebr hir t\u00eb Krishtit. At\u00ebher\u00eb Arachis urdh\u00ebroi q\u00eb t&#x27;i torturonin r\u00ebnd\u00eb, n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb q\u00eb q\u00ebndrueshm\u00ebria e tyre t\u00eb p\u00ebrkulej. Kur pa se asgj\u00eb nuk i b\u00ebnte t\u00eb flisnin, vendosi t&#x27;i \u00e7onte vet\u00eb te mbreti. Pas disa dit\u00ebsh, murgjit u paraqit\u00ebn t\u00eb lidhur para Abnerit, i cili i n\u00ebnshtroi ata n\u00eb tortura t\u00eb reja dhe m\u00eb t\u00eb tmerrshme. Mbreti e pa se nuk kishte asnj\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb q\u00eb t&#x27;i detyronte ata t\u00eb tradhtonin plakun Barlaam. Pastaj urdh\u00ebroi q\u00eb t&#x27;u hiqen syt\u00eb, p\u00ebr t&#x27;u shuar drit\u00ebn nga fytyrat e tyre. Pastaj ua pren\u00eb duart dhe k\u00ebmb\u00ebt q\u00eb trupat e tyre t\u00eb b\u00ebheshin nj\u00eb pamje martire para njer\u00ebzve. Gjat\u00eb gjith\u00eb asaj kohe, murgjit ngush\u00eblluan nj\u00ebri-tjetrin me fjal\u00eb t\u00eb ngrohta dhe t\u00eb zjarrta. Ata nxit\u00ebn nj\u00ebri-tjetrin q\u00eb ta pranojn\u00eb vdekjen me g\u00ebzim, p\u00ebr dashurin\u00eb e Zotit t\u00eb tyre. K\u00ebshtu ata dor\u00ebzuan shpirtrat e tyre dhe mor\u00ebn nga vet\u00eb Krishti kurorat e p\u00ebrjetshme t\u00eb lavdis\u00eb. Sh\u00ebn Joani Damasku i krahason k\u00ebto shtat\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb monachomtir\u00eb me shtat\u00eb shenjtor\u00ebt makabeas t\u00eb Dhiat\u00ebs s\u00eb Vjet\u00ebr. Kujtimi i tyre nderohet nga Kisha m\u00eb 1 gusht, me nderim t\u00eb madh nga t\u00eb gjith\u00eb besimtar\u00ebt. Ashtu si makabejt\u00eb q\u00ebndruan t\u00eb patrembur p\u00ebrball\u00eb p\u00ebrndjek\u00ebsve t\u00eb besimit t\u00eb tyre, po ashtu edhe ata.
