Shum\u00eb vite pas martirizimit t\u00eb tij, e nj\u00ebjta shtiz\u00eb do ta shtynte n\u00eb shtyll\u00eb Julianin apostat n\u00eb thell\u00ebsi t\u00eb Persis\u00eb. Sh\u00ebn M\u00ebrkuri erdhi nga Scythia dhe sh\u00ebrbeu si ushtar n\u00eb urdhrin romak t\u00eb martir\u00ebve, i cili vinte nga Armenia e par\u00eb. Ai thoshte shpesh se lum kushdo q\u00eb i sh\u00ebrben Krishtit, sepse do t\u00eb marr\u00eb nj\u00eb shp\u00ebrblim n\u00eb mbret\u00ebrin\u00eb e qiejve. M\u00ebrkuri i mbajti ato fjal\u00eb n\u00eb zemr\u00ebn e tij. Gjat\u00eb nj\u00eb beteje t\u00eb zgjatur, ai iu shfaq Merkurit, engj\u00ebllit t\u00eb Zotit n\u00eb form\u00ebn e nj\u00eb burri t\u00eb gjat\u00eb t\u00eb veshur me t\u00eb bardha. Ai mbajti nj\u00eb shpat\u00eb n\u00eb dor\u00eb dhe i tha t\u00eb mos kishte frik\u00eb, sepse ai ishte d\u00ebrguar p\u00ebr ta b\u00ebr\u00eb at\u00eb fitimtar. Ai i dha shpat\u00ebn dhe e nxiti t\u00eb mos e harronte Zotin kur t\u00eb fitonte. Gjaku rridhte dhe shuante edhe flak\u00ebt, nd\u00ebrsa d\u00ebshmori duroi me trim\u00ebri mbinjer\u00ebzore. M\u00eb pas e t\u00ebrhoq\u00ebn zvarr\u00eb n\u00eb burg, duke menduar se p\u00ebr pak or\u00eb do t\u00eb sh\u00ebrohej nga plag\u00ebt. Decius u befasua dhe urdh\u00ebroi q\u00eb plag\u00ebt n\u00eb trupin e tij t\u00eb ekzaminoheshin me kujdes. Vet\u00eb xhelat\u00ebt u betuan se trupi ishte i paprekur, sikur t\u00eb mos ishte prekur kurr\u00eb nga torturat. Perandori ia atribuoi mrekullin\u00eb magjis\u00eb s\u00eb krishter\u00eb dhe k\u00ebrc\u00ebnoi me tortura t\u00eb reja t\u00eb tmerrshme. Shenjtori u p\u00ebrgjigj se Jisu Krishti, mjeku i v\u00ebrtet\u00eb i shpirtrave dhe trupave, ishte ai q\u00eb e rivendosi at\u00eb. Pastaj e var\u00ebn me kok\u00eb posht\u00eb dhe i lidh\u00ebn nj\u00eb gur t\u00eb madh n\u00eb qaf\u00eb q\u00eb t\u00eb vdiste nga pesha e tij. Ushtar\u00ebt e lidh\u00ebn p\u00ebr nj\u00eb kafsh\u00eb, sepse nga torturat e shumta ai nuk mund t\u00eb q\u00ebndronte n\u00eb k\u00ebmb\u00eb. Kur arrit\u00ebn n\u00eb Cezare, d\u00ebshmorit iu shfaq Vet\u00eb Zoti dhe e ftoi t\u00eb pushonte me T\u00eb. Ai i tha se e kishte p\u00ebrfunduar rrug\u00ebn, e mbajti besimin dhe do t\u00eb merrte kuror\u00ebn amarantike t\u00eb fitores. I forcuar nga vizioni hyjnor, vet\u00eb shenjtori u k\u00ebrkoi ushtar\u00ebve t\u00eb zbatonin urdhrin e mbretit pa vones\u00eb. Ai uroi q\u00eb t\u00eb marrin hirin e Zotit bamir\u00ebs, \u200b\u200bi cili i th\u00ebrret t\u00eb gjith\u00eb n\u00eb pendim. Nd\u00ebrsa skadoi, perandori i mjer\u00eb e hodhi n\u00eb qiell gjakun q\u00eb i dilte nga plaga. Ai qau me hidh\u00ebrim fjal\u00ebt e njohura drejtuar Krishtit, duke rr\u00ebfyer fitoren e Galileos. K\u00ebshtu u b\u00eb e qart\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb gjith\u00eb se Hyjlind\u00ebse, duke d\u00ebgjuar lutjet e Vasilit, d\u00ebrgoi martirin e saj t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb mbrojtur popullin e Zotit.
