Pak m\u00eb von\u00eb, vet\u00eb perandoresha Augusta dhe gjenerali Porfiri me dyqind ushtar\u00eb hyn\u00eb fshehurazi n\u00eb burgun e saj dhe dol\u00ebn martir\u00eb t\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjtit Zot. Perandori Maksimian kishte urdh\u00ebruar orator\u00ebt dhe filozof\u00ebt m\u00eb t\u00eb ditur t\u00eb koh\u00ebs q\u00eb t\u00eb p\u00ebrballeshin me Sh\u00ebn dhe ta mposhtnin me fjal\u00eb. Por fjalimi i saj ishte aq i ndritsh\u00ebm dhe aq plot hir, saq\u00eb ata njer\u00ebz t\u00eb men\u00e7ur rr\u00ebfyen publikisht besimin e tyre n\u00eb Krishtin. Perandori, n\u00eb t\u00ebrbimin e tij, urdh\u00ebroi menj\u00ebher\u00eb q\u00eb t&#x27;i hidhnin n\u00eb zjarr dhe t&#x27;i digjnin t\u00eb gjall\u00eb. Para se t&#x27;i dor\u00ebzoheshin flak\u00ebve, Sh\u00ebn Katerina b\u00ebri shenj\u00ebn e kryqit mbi ta dhe i forcoi p\u00ebr rr\u00ebfimin e fundit. K\u00ebshtu, pes\u00ebdhjet\u00eb filozof\u00ebt u b\u00ebn\u00eb frytet e para t\u00eb predikimit martirik t\u00eb virgj\u00ebresh\u00ebs s\u00eb re t\u00eb Aleksandris\u00eb. Shembulli i tyre s\u00eb shpejti do t\u00eb ndez\u00eb shpirtra t\u00eb tjer\u00eb brenda vet\u00eb pallatit. Takimi u zhvillua n\u00eb err\u00ebsir\u00ebn e qelis\u00eb, ku Sh\u00ebn falej pa u lodhur dit\u00eb e nat\u00eb. Fytyra e saj shk\u00eblqente me nj\u00eb bukuri qiellore, sikur pasqyronte drit\u00ebn e hirit hyjnor q\u00eb e shoq\u00ebronte. Perandoresha q\u00ebndroi e shtangur nga qet\u00ebsia dhe q\u00ebndrueshm\u00ebria e martirit t\u00eb ri. Me fjal\u00eb t\u00eb thjeshta dhe t\u00eb qarta, Sh\u00ebn Katerina u shpjegoi besimin e krishter\u00eb dhe shpres\u00ebn e jet\u00ebs s\u00eb p\u00ebrjetshme. Augusta dhe Porphyrios d\u00ebgjuan me etje \u00e7do fjali, sikur t\u00eb shuanin etjen e tyre pas nj\u00eb that\u00ebsire t\u00eb madhe. Perandori e k\u00ebrc\u00ebnoi at\u00eb me rrot\u00ebn e frikshme, nj\u00eb makin\u00eb e krijuar p\u00ebr t\u00eb shtypur trupat ngadal\u00eb dhe torturues. Ai po i k\u00ebrkonte asaj t\u00eb mohonte Krishtin dhe t\u00eb flijonte p\u00ebr idhujt, p\u00ebr t\u00eb shp\u00ebtuar rinin\u00eb dhe bukurin\u00eb e saj. Sh\u00ebnja q\u00ebndroi e patrazuar dhe rr\u00ebfeu me sfid\u00eb besimin e saj n\u00eb Zotin e v\u00ebrtet\u00eb. N\u00eb fakt ajo iu afrua vet\u00eb rrotave, pa hezitim dhe pa asnj\u00eb frik\u00eb n\u00eb sy. Pastaj nj\u00eb engj\u00ebll i Zotit zbriti papritur dhe i shtypi instrumentet e martirizimit, t\u00eb cilat u thyen n\u00eb copa t\u00eb panum\u00ebrta. Kur perandoresha Augusta pa mrekullin\u00eb, doli p\u00ebrpara me Porfirin dhe dyqind ushtar\u00ebt. T\u00eb gjith\u00eb s\u00eb bashku rr\u00ebfyen publikisht se besojn\u00eb n\u00eb Krishtin dhe mohojn\u00eb idhujt e perandoris\u00eb. Maksimiani humbi plot\u00ebsisht kontrollin dhe urdh\u00ebroi menj\u00ebher\u00eb d\u00ebnime t\u00eb r\u00ebnda p\u00ebr t\u00eb krishter\u00ebt e rinj. Konflikti midis autoritetit pagan dhe hirit t\u00eb Krishtit kishte arritur kulmin. N\u00eb d\u00ebshp\u00ebrimin e tij, perandori u p\u00ebrpoq edhe nj\u00eb her\u00eb t\u00eb tundte martirin e ri me fjal\u00eb m\u00eb t\u00eb \u00ebmbla.
