Euthymios ishte nj\u00eb mik i ngusht\u00eb i Agios Athanasi t\u00eb Lavr\u00ebs s\u00eb Madhe dhe Neophytos ishte sekretari i par\u00eb i perandorit Nikifori Phokas. Sh\u00ebn Euthymius erdhi nga Kostandinopoja dhe jetoi n\u00eb shekullin e dhjet\u00eb pas Krishtit. Edhe kur ishte n\u00eb bot\u00eb, njohu asketin e madh t\u00eb Athosit dhe lidhi miq\u00ebsi shpirt\u00ebrore me t\u00eb. Kur u pjekur shpirt\u00ebrisht, Sh\u00ebn Euthymi mori me vete disa v\u00ebllez\u00ebr dhe zbriti n\u00eb rajonin e Dafin\u00ebs. Atje ai ngriti nj\u00eb manastir t\u00eb vog\u00ebl kushtuar Sh\u00ebn Nikolaos, t\u00eb cilin e quajti Dochiariou, n\u00eb kujtim t\u00eb bindjes s\u00eb tij t\u00eb vjet\u00ebr. Megjithat\u00eb, bastisjet e pirat\u00ebve shkat\u00ebrruan at\u00eb nd\u00ebrtes\u00eb t\u00eb par\u00eb dhe shenjtori mezi i shp\u00ebtoi vdekjes s\u00eb sigurt. Por ai nuk u p\u00ebrkul para prov\u00ebs, por shkoi pak m\u00eb lart dhe themeloi nj\u00eb kish\u00eb t\u00eb re p\u00ebr nder t\u00eb Sh\u00ebn Nikoll\u00ebs. Rreth tempullit nd\u00ebrtoi qeli p\u00ebr v\u00ebllez\u00ebrit dhe k\u00ebshtu lindi Manastiri aktual i Dochiarit. Si nj\u00eb baba i dashur, ai i udh\u00ebzoi murgjit e rinj me fjal\u00eb t\u00eb men\u00e7ura dhe t\u00eb thjeshta. Ai i m\u00ebsoi ata t\u00eb v\u00ebzhgojn\u00eb veten dhe t\u00eb shikojn\u00eb \u00e7do l\u00ebvizje t\u00eb shpirtit t\u00eb tyre me maturi. Ai u kujtoi atyre fjal\u00ebt e apostullit Pal, se lufta e t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve nuk \u00ebsht\u00eb kund\u00ebr mishit dhe gjakut. \u00cbsht\u00eb kund\u00ebr principatave, fuqive dhe sundimtar\u00ebve bot\u00ebror\u00eb t\u00eb err\u00ebsir\u00ebs s\u00eb k\u00ebsaj epoke. Me k\u00ebt\u00eb m\u00ebsim ai e forcoi shoq\u00ebrin\u00eb e tij n\u00eb lutje dhe vigjilenc\u00eb. Jeta paq\u00ebsore asketike e v\u00ebllaz\u00ebris\u00eb u sprovua s\u00ebrish nga nj\u00eb bastisje sara\u00e7ene n\u00eb brigjet e malit Athos. Plaku Euthymius nuk e humbi durimin, por i \u00e7oi t\u00eb gjith\u00eb murgjit n\u00eb pyll p\u00ebr t\u00eb shp\u00ebtuar veten. Kur u kthyen pas rrezikut, e gjet\u00ebn manastirin t\u00eb rrafshuar deri n\u00eb themel. Shenjtori nuk u d\u00ebshp\u00ebrua, por me besim dhe durim ai rind\u00ebrtoi manastirin e tij t\u00eb dashur nga e para. Nd\u00ebrkoh\u00eb, nipi i tij Neofitos jetonte n\u00eb oborrin e perandor\u00ebve Nikifori Phokas dhe Joannis Tsimiskis. Ai vinte nga nj\u00eb familje dukale dhe kishte marr\u00eb nj\u00eb arsim t\u00eb shk\u00eblqyer, ndaj t\u00eb gjith\u00eb e donin p\u00ebr men\u00e7urin\u00eb e tij. Vet\u00eb mbreti e nderoi me detyr\u00ebn e sekretarit t\u00eb par\u00eb t\u00eb oborrit perandorak. Megjithat\u00eb, pas vdekjes s\u00eb prind\u00ebrve, zemra e tij u kthye n\u00eb malin Athos. Me bujarin\u00eb e sundimtarit dhe me parat\u00eb e tij, shenjtori e zgjeroi manastirin n\u00eb p\u00ebrmasat e tij aktuale. Ai nd\u00ebrtoi nj\u00eb kish\u00eb m\u00eb t\u00eb madhe dhe ngriti nj\u00eb k\u00ebshtjell\u00eb t\u00eb fort\u00eb rreth manastirit p\u00ebr sigurin\u00eb e murgjve. K\u00ebshtu ai e mbrojti v\u00ebllaz\u00ebrin\u00eb kund\u00ebr pirat\u00ebve q\u00eb po pushtonin brigjet e malit Athos. Fama e virtytit dhe urt\u00ebsis\u00eb s\u00eb tij u p\u00ebrhap shpejt n\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00eb malin Athos.
