M\u00eb von\u00eb, si Patriark i Kostandinopoj\u00ebs, ai e shpalli vet\u00eb Palamasin shenjtor dhe madje kreu sh\u00ebrbimin e shenjt\u00eb p\u00ebr nder t\u00eb tij. Sh\u00ebn Filotheu i Kuq rridhte nga nj\u00eb familje e shquar e Selanikut dhe q\u00eb n\u00eb mosh\u00eb t\u00eb re e donte me pasion jet\u00ebn dhe studimin e vetmuar. Ai jetoi p\u00ebr disa koh\u00eb n\u00eb malin Sinai dhe m\u00eb pas u ngjit n\u00eb malin Athos, ku u dallua p\u00ebr pjekurin\u00eb e tij shpirt\u00ebrore dhe m\u00ebsimin e thell\u00eb. Ai u zgjodh igumen i Manastirit t\u00eb Lavr\u00ebs s\u00eb Megjistit pik\u00ebrisht n\u00eb periudh\u00ebn e grindjeve hesikastike, n\u00eb vitet e trazirave teologjike. Me vendosm\u00ebri dhe guxim ai mbrojti tradit\u00ebn e Hesikastit dhe n\u00ebnshkroi V\u00ebllimin e famsh\u00ebm Shenjtor n\u00eb vitin 1339. Ai hartoi gjithashtu dy diskurse t\u00eb m\u00ebdha teologjike kund\u00ebr Grigori Akindynos, p\u00ebrmes t\u00eb cilave mund t\u00eb shihet mpreht\u00ebsia e tij e rrall\u00eb teologjike. Z\u00ebri i tij u d\u00ebgjua fort n\u00eb debatet e koh\u00ebs dhe prania e tij n\u00eb komunitetin Athonias u b\u00eb pik\u00eb referimi p\u00ebr ata q\u00eb besonin n\u00eb lutjen mendore. N\u00eb vitin 1347 u zgjodh mitropolit i Heraklionit n\u00eb Traki dhe mori pjes\u00eb aktive n\u00eb debatet teologjike t\u00eb kryeqytetit. Mori pjes\u00eb n\u00eb k\u00ebshillin e madh t\u00eb Kostandinopoj\u00ebs n\u00eb vitin 1351, i cili shpalli zyrtarisht m\u00ebsimin ortodoks t\u00eb Grigori Palamas. Nga ai takim doli V\u00ebllimi i famsh\u00ebm q\u00eb vendosi teologjikisht tradit\u00ebn Hesikaste n\u00eb jet\u00ebn e Kish\u00ebs. Pas largimit t\u00eb patriarkut Callisto i Par\u00eb nga froni i Kostandinopoj\u00ebs, ai u zgjodh patriark n\u00eb vitin nj\u00ebmij\u00eb e treqind e pes\u00ebdhjet\u00eb e tre. Por kur Callisto u rivendos, Sh\u00ebn Filotheu u hoq nga froni vitin e ardhsh\u00ebm dhe u kthye n\u00eb heshtje t\u00eb qet\u00eb. Ai u kthye n\u00eb fronin patriarkal n\u00eb vitin 1364 dhe kulloti Kish\u00ebn me maturi dhe qart\u00ebsi teologjike. Gjat\u00eb patriarkan\u00ebs s\u00eb tij t\u00eb dyt\u00eb, ai p\u00ebrs\u00ebri mbrojti teologjin\u00eb e hesikast\u00ebve n\u00eb rrethana t\u00eb v\u00ebshtira historike. Ai e kund\u00ebrshtoi fuqish\u00ebm p\u00ebrpjekjen e v\u00ebllez\u00ebrve Demetrius dhe Prochoros Kydonis p\u00ebr t\u00eb futur teologjin\u00eb skolastike t\u00eb Thomas Aquinas n\u00eb Bizant. Q\u00ebndrimi i tij baritor nd\u00ebrthurte mpreht\u00ebsin\u00eb dhe sakt\u00ebsin\u00eb teologjike, pa e humbur kurr\u00eb \u00ebmb\u00eblsin\u00eb e nj\u00eb babai shpirt\u00ebror. N\u00eb k\u00ebshillin e Kostandinopoj\u00ebs n\u00eb vitin nj\u00ebmij\u00eb e treqind e gjasht\u00ebdhjet\u00eb e tet\u00eb Prochoros Kydonis u shkish\u00ebrua dhe autoriteti i V\u00ebllimit m\u00eb t\u00eb vjet\u00ebr Hesikast u rinovua zyrtarisht. Sh\u00ebn Filotheu dekretoi gjithashtu q\u00eb kujtimi i Grigori Palamas t\u00eb p\u00ebrkujtohej \u00e7do vit t\u00eb diel\u00ebn e dyt\u00eb t\u00eb Kreshm\u00ebs s\u00eb Madhe. Ai madje kryesoi shpalljen zyrtare t\u00eb Palamas si shenjtor dhe me nderim kompozoi sh\u00ebrbimin p\u00ebr nder t\u00eb tij. Ai tregoi interes t\u00eb ve\u00e7ant\u00eb p\u00ebr organizimin e Kishave t\u00eb Rusis\u00eb, Serbis\u00eb, Vllahis\u00eb dhe Bullgaris\u00eb, n\u00eb t\u00eb cilat u p\u00ebrhap shpirt\u00ebrorja hesikaste. Ai kujdesej q\u00eb lutja mendore dhe teologjia e drit\u00ebs s\u00eb pakrijuar t\u00eb b\u00ebheshin nj\u00eb thesar i p\u00ebrbashk\u00ebt i t\u00eb gjith\u00eb popujve ortodoks\u00eb t\u00eb koh\u00ebs s\u00eb tij. N\u00eb marr\u00ebdh\u00ebniet e tij me fronin papnor ai mb\u00ebshteti nevoj\u00ebn p\u00ebr t\u00eb mbledhur nj\u00eb Koncilin Ekumenik p\u00ebr t\u00eb trajtuar dallimet teologjike. Q\u00eb nga periudha e q\u00ebndrimit t\u00eb tij n\u00eb malin Athos, ai shkroi nj\u00eb s\u00ebr\u00eb veprash teologjike, ligj\u00ebratash, jet\u00ebsh dhe sh\u00ebrbesash t\u00eb shenjta.
