Pastaj kat\u00ebr luan\u00eb zbrit\u00ebn nga shkret\u00ebtira dhe u ul\u00ebn rreth kockave t\u00eb saj, n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb q\u00eb asnj\u00eb shkab apo kafsh\u00eb t\u00eb mos i prekte. Sh\u00ebn Pelagia jetoi n\u00eb shekullin e tret\u00eb n\u00eb Tarsus t\u00eb Kilikis\u00eb, gjat\u00eb sundimit t\u00eb perandorit Dioklecian. Ajo vinte nga nj\u00eb familje e shquar pagane dhe ishte rritur n\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00eb luksin e koh\u00ebs s\u00eb saj. Kur d\u00ebgjoi p\u00ebr Krishtin nga miqt\u00eb e saj t\u00eb krishter\u00eb, zemra e saj u ndez menj\u00ebher\u00eb nga dashuria hyjnore. Ajo besoi me gjith\u00eb shpirtin e saj te Shp\u00ebtimtari dhe vendosi t\u00eb ruaj\u00eb virgj\u00ebrin\u00eb e saj, duke ia kushtuar gjith\u00eb jet\u00ebn Zotit. Djali i Dioklecianit, trash\u00ebgimtari i fronit, e pa nj\u00eb her\u00eb dhe u magjeps nga bukuria e saj. Ai menj\u00ebher\u00eb k\u00ebrkoi t\u00eb b\u00ebhej gruaja e tij dhe \u00ebnd\u00ebrroi se do ta merrte me leht\u00ebsi. Por shenjtori u p\u00ebrgjigj se ajo tashm\u00eb ishte e fejuar me Krishtin, Dh\u00ebndrin e pavdeksh\u00ebm t\u00eb shpirtit t\u00eb saj. Ajo kishte mohuar \u00e7do martes\u00eb tok\u00ebsore dhe gjith\u00eb lavdin\u00eb tok\u00ebsore n\u00eb zemr\u00ebn e saj. P\u00ebrgjigjja e Pelagias zem\u00ebroi princin e ri t\u00eb kuror\u00ebs, por ai vendosi ta linte vet\u00ebm p\u00ebr pak koh\u00eb. Ai shpresonte se me kalimin e koh\u00ebs vajza do t\u00eb ndryshonte mendje dhe do ta pranonte propozimin e tij. M\u00eb pas shenjtori e bindi n\u00ebn\u00ebn e saj q\u00eb ta linte t\u00eb vizitonte paramanin q\u00eb e kishte rritur q\u00eb kur ishte f\u00ebmij\u00eb. Por brenda saj mbante nj\u00eb tjet\u00ebr d\u00ebshir\u00eb t\u00eb fsheht\u00eb, q\u00eb e digjte si flak\u00eb. Ai donte t\u00eb gjente peshkopin Linus t\u00eb Tarsusit, i cili ishte strehuar n\u00eb nj\u00eb mal p\u00ebr shkak t\u00eb persekutimit t\u00eb t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve. Ajo kishte par\u00eb fytyr\u00ebn e peshkopit n\u00eb nj\u00eb \u00ebnd\u00ebrr q\u00eb i b\u00ebri nj\u00eb p\u00ebrshtypje t\u00eb thell\u00eb. N\u00eb at\u00eb shfaqje hierarku i shenjt\u00eb i kishte th\u00ebn\u00eb q\u00eb t\u00eb pag\u00ebzohej pa vones\u00eb. Pelagia u nis n\u00eb udh\u00ebtim me nj\u00eb karroc\u00eb t\u00eb pasur dhe me rroba t\u00eb shtrenjta, ashtu si\u00e7 d\u00ebshironte n\u00ebna e saj. Ajo shoq\u00ebrohej nga nj\u00eb grup i t\u00ebr\u00eb sh\u00ebrbyesish, q\u00eb i p\u00ebrshtateshin pozit\u00ebs s\u00eb saj fisnike. T\u00eb gjith\u00eb menduan se ajo thjesht po shkonte te dadoja e saj, duke injoruar q\u00ebllimin e v\u00ebrtet\u00eb t\u00eb zemr\u00ebs s\u00eb vajz\u00ebs. Rrug\u00ebs, Sh\u00ebn Pelagia takoi, me hir t\u00eb Zotit, peshkopin Lino n\u00eb nj\u00eb vend t\u00eb shkret\u00eb. Ajo e njohu menj\u00ebher\u00eb, sepse ishte pik\u00ebrisht njeriu q\u00eb kishte par\u00eb n\u00eb \u00ebnd\u00ebrr. Ajo ra n\u00eb k\u00ebmb\u00ebt e tij dhe iu lut me lot q\u00eb t\u00eb k\u00ebrkonte pag\u00ebzimin e shenjt\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb. N\u00eb lutjen e peshkopit, nj\u00eb burim me uj\u00eb t\u00eb past\u00ebr doli mrekullisht nga toka. Sh\u00ebn Lino vulosi Pelagjin\u00eb me shenj\u00ebn e kryqit dhe filloi ceremonin\u00eb e shenjt\u00eb. N\u00eb koh\u00ebn e misterit, engj\u00ebjt u shfaq\u00ebn dhe e mbuluan t\u00eb zgjedhurin e Zotit me nj\u00eb mantel t\u00eb ndritsh\u00ebm. Pastaj peshkopi i dha Kungimin e Shenjt\u00eb dhe fal\u00ebnderoi Zotin me t\u00eb p\u00ebr dhurat\u00ebn e madhe. M\u00eb pas shenjtorja nd\u00ebrroi rrobat e saj luksoze me nj\u00eb veshje t\u00eb thjesht\u00eb t\u00eb bardh\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00eb virgj\u00ebreshe. Ajo ua shp\u00ebrndau t\u00eb gjith\u00eb pasurin\u00eb e saj t\u00eb varf\u00ebrve t\u00eb zon\u00ebs me shum\u00eb bujari. Kur u kthye te sh\u00ebrb\u00ebtor\u00ebt e saj, u foli me zjarr p\u00ebr Krishtin dhe shum\u00eb prej tyre besuan menj\u00ebher\u00eb dhe rr\u00ebfyen pa frik\u00eb besimin e tyre t\u00eb ri. M\u00eb pas shenjtori u p\u00ebrpoq ta sillte n\u00ebn\u00ebn e saj n\u00eb besimin e Krishtit. Por gruaja zem\u00ebrgur jo vet\u00ebm nuk pranoi, por e njoftoi menj\u00ebher\u00eb djalin e Dioklecianit p\u00ebr at\u00eb q\u00eb kishte ndodhur. Ai e paditi at\u00eb se Pelagia ishte b\u00ebr\u00eb e krishter\u00eb dhe tani refuzoi t\u00eb martohej me t\u00eb. Princi i ri i kuror\u00ebs, duke par\u00eb se e kishte humbur at\u00eb p\u00ebrgjithmon\u00eb, ra mbi shpat\u00ebn e tij n\u00eb d\u00ebshp\u00ebrim. M\u00eb pas, n\u00ebna e vajz\u00ebs u frik\u00ebsua nga zem\u00ebrimi i perandorit dhe mori nj\u00eb vendim t\u00eb ashp\u00ebr. Ajo lidhi vajz\u00ebn e saj dhe e \u00e7oi n\u00eb pallat si t\u00eb krishter\u00eb dhe p\u00ebrgjegj\u00ebse p\u00ebr vdekjen e princit t\u00eb kuror\u00ebs. Diokleciani u magjeps menj\u00ebher\u00eb nga bukuria e pakrahasueshme e virgj\u00ebresh\u00ebs q\u00eb q\u00ebndronte p\u00ebrpara tij. Ai u p\u00ebrpoq n\u00eb \u00e7do m\u00ebnyr\u00eb ta largonte at\u00eb nga besimi i saj n\u00eb Krishtin. Ai i premtoi asaj t\u00eb gjitha t\u00eb mirat dhe nderet tok\u00ebsore n\u00ebse ajo do t\u00eb pranonte t\u00eb b\u00ebhej gruaja e tij. Por shenjtori refuzoi me p\u00ebrbuzje \u00e7do premtim dhe \u00e7do karrem t\u00eb perandorit. Ai nuk d\u00ebshironte kurorat e p\u00ebrkohshme t\u00eb bot\u00ebs, t\u00eb cilat kalojn\u00eb n\u00eb pak koh\u00eb si nj\u00eb hije. Zoti kishte p\u00ebrgatitur p\u00ebr t\u00eb tre kurora t\u00eb pathyeshme n\u00eb mbret\u00ebrin\u00eb e tij qiellore. E para ishte p\u00ebr besimin e saj, sepse ajo i kishte besuar me gjith\u00eb zem\u00ebr Zotit t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00eb. E dyta ishte p\u00ebr d\u00eblir\u00ebsin\u00eb e saj, pasi ajo ia kishte kushtuar t\u00eb gjith\u00eb virgj\u00ebrin\u00eb e saj. E treta kishte t\u00eb b\u00ebnte me martirizimin, sepse ajo ishte gati t\u00eb vuante \u00e7do vuajtje p\u00ebr dashurin\u00eb e Krishtit. At\u00ebher\u00eb perandori e ndjeu rr\u00ebfimin e saj si zjarr brenda tij dhe vendosi p\u00ebr vdekjen e saj. Ai urdh\u00ebroi menj\u00ebher\u00eb nj\u00eb tortur\u00eb t\u00eb tmerrshme dhe t\u00eb papar\u00eb p\u00ebr virgj\u00ebresh\u00ebn e guximshme t\u00eb Tarsusit. Diokleciani e d\u00ebnoi Pelagjin\u00eb t\u00eb digjej e gjall\u00eb brenda nj\u00eb demi bronzi t\u00eb nxeht\u00eb. Por d\u00ebshmori nuk i lejoi xhelat\u00ebt as ta preknin me duar. Ajo e vulosi trupin e saj e vetme me shenj\u00ebn e kryqit dhe me guxim hyri n\u00eb instrumentin e tmerrsh\u00ebm t\u00eb vdekjes. Mishi i saj u shkri aty si mirr\u00eb dhe aroma e saj mbushi gjith\u00eb qytetin e Tarsusit. Por kockat e saj mbet\u00ebn t\u00eb paprekura nga zjarri dhe mrekullisht t\u00eb paprekura. Pagan\u00ebt i hodh\u00ebn jasht\u00eb mureve t\u00eb qytetit n\u00eb nj\u00eb vend t\u00eb shkret\u00eb. Pastaj kat\u00ebr luan\u00eb zbrit\u00ebn nga shkret\u00ebtira dhe u ul\u00ebn rreth faltoreve lipsane. Ata ruanin eshtrat e shenjtorit nga \u00e7do zog dhe \u00e7do kafsh\u00eb e eg\u00ebr n\u00eb zon\u00eb. Ata q\u00ebndruan atje derisa peshkopi Linos mb\u00ebrriti n\u00eb at\u00eb vend. Me nderim mblodhi lipsane dhe i varrosi me nder.
