Vet\u00eb vajza, Callisthenes, preu flok\u00ebt, veshi rroba burrash dhe u fsheh p\u00ebr vite me radh\u00eb n\u00eb Nikomedi, p\u00ebr t\u00eb shp\u00ebtuar besimin e saj. Audaktos vinte nga Efesi dhe ishte nderuar nga perandori me detyr\u00ebn e prefektit, pasi shquhej p\u00ebr maturin\u00eb dhe pasurin\u00eb e tij. Por kur Maksimiani k\u00ebrkoi p\u00ebr gruan e tij Kalisten\u00ebn, babai i saj refuzoi me k\u00ebmb\u00ebngulje t&#x27;ia jepte nj\u00eb burri q\u00eb adhuronte idhujt. Zem\u00ebrimi perandorak ishte i menj\u00ebhersh\u00ebm dhe mizor p\u00ebr t\u00eb gjith\u00eb familjen. I zun\u00eb pronat prefektit, ia hoq\u00ebn \u00e7do nder dhe e internuan larg, n\u00eb Melitini t\u00eb Armenis\u00eb. Atje, n\u00eb nj\u00eb vend t\u00eb huaj dhe t\u00eb izoluar, atij iu pre koka me shpat\u00eb p\u00ebr rr\u00ebfimin e besimit. Vajza e tij m\u00ebsoi lajmin dhe kuptoi se jeta e saj ishte n\u00eb rrezik t\u00eb nj\u00ebjt\u00eb. Ajo mori vendimin t\u00eb fshihej, t\u00eb ndryshonte pamjen e saj dhe t\u00eb priste me durim koh\u00ebn kur Zoti do t&#x27;i hapte nj\u00eb rrug\u00eb q\u00eb ajo t\u00eb shp\u00ebtohej dhe t\u00eb njihej. Pas tet\u00eb vitesh t\u00eb plota t\u00eb jet\u00ebs s\u00eb fshehur, Callisthenes u largua nga Nikomedia dhe mb\u00ebrriti n\u00eb Trakin\u00eb e larg\u00ebt. Aty gjeti streh\u00eb pran\u00eb nj\u00eb familjeje t\u00eb devotshme, e cila e pranoi me dashuri pa e ditur identitetin e saj t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00eb. Vajza e k\u00ebsaj familje vuante nga nj\u00eb s\u00ebmundje e r\u00ebnd\u00eb e syrit dhe asnj\u00eb mjek nuk kishte mundur ta leht\u00ebsonte. Callisthenes iu lut me zjarr Krishtit dhe syt\u00eb e vajz\u00ebs u sh\u00ebruan p\u00ebr mrekulli dhe plot\u00ebsisht. Prind\u00ebrit u mbush\u00ebn me mir\u00ebnjohje dhe i propozuan lajmit t\u00eb panjohur q\u00eb t\u00eb martoheshin me vajz\u00ebn e tyre t\u00eb kuruar, duke menduar se ishte nj\u00eb djal\u00eb i ri. Pastaj Callisthenes tregoi me p\u00ebrul\u00ebsi t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00ebn p\u00ebr gjinin\u00eb, origjin\u00ebn dhe jet\u00ebn e saj. E gjith\u00eb familja lavd\u00ebroi Zotin p\u00ebr mbrojtjen q\u00eb i tregoi atij shpirti. K\u00ebshtu e reja vazhdoi rrug\u00ebn me shpres\u00eb t\u00eb re dhe paqe t\u00eb brendshme. Pas vdekjes s\u00eb Maksimianit, Licinius u ngjit n\u00eb fron, perandori i fundit pagan i perandoris\u00eb romake. Gruaja e tij Konstantia, motra e Konstandinit t\u00eb Madh, d\u00ebshmoi me guxim besimin e saj n\u00eb Krishtin. Callisthenes u kthye n\u00eb atdheun e saj dhe k\u00ebrkoi me kujdes mbret\u00ebresh\u00ebn Konstancia n\u00eb pallat. Ajo e priti me dashamir\u00ebsi dhe e d\u00ebgjoi me emocion gjith\u00eb historin\u00eb e martirizimit t\u00eb t\u00eb atit dhe ikjen e saj. Mbret\u00ebresha e devotshme nd\u00ebrmjet\u00ebsoi me vendosm\u00ebri dhe e ndihmoi Kalisten\u00ebn t\u00eb rimarr\u00eb pasurin\u00eb q\u00eb u ishte marr\u00eb padrejt\u00ebsisht nga Maksimiani. Por e reja nuk ka mbajtur asgj\u00eb p\u00ebr vete nga ajo q\u00eb i \u00ebsht\u00eb kthyer. Ai ua shp\u00ebrndau t\u00eb gjitha pasurit\u00eb t\u00eb varf\u00ebrve, t\u00eb uriturve dhe atyre q\u00eb kishin nevoj\u00eb p\u00ebr ngush\u00ebllim dhe mb\u00ebshtetje. Pastaj ajo u kujdes me shum\u00eb nderim p\u00ebr t\u00eb transportuar eshtrat e nderuara t\u00eb t\u00eb atit nga Melitini i larg\u00ebt n\u00eb Efesin e tij t\u00eb dashur. Atje ajo nd\u00ebrtoi nj\u00eb tempull p\u00ebr nder t\u00eb babait t\u00eb saj martir dhe depozitoi tabernakullin e tij t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb brenda shenjt\u00ebrores. Ajo e jetoi pjes\u00ebn tjet\u00ebr t\u00eb jet\u00ebs n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb apostolike, me lutje, agj\u00ebrim dhe vepra bamir\u00ebsie p\u00ebr \u00e7do v\u00eblla t\u00eb sprovuar.
