Ai u paraqit n\u00eb nj\u00eb manastir burrash si nj\u00eb eunuk me emrin Smaragdos dhe jetoi atje p\u00ebr tridhjet\u00eb e tet\u00eb vjet t\u00eb t\u00ebra pa e dyshuar askush p\u00ebr t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00ebn. Osh\u00ebnare Eufrosyn jetoi n\u00eb vitet e Teodosit t\u00eb Vog\u00ebl, rreth kat\u00ebrqind pas Krishtit. Ajo ishte vajza e vetme e Pafnutit, sundimtarit m\u00eb t\u00eb pasur t\u00eb Aleksandris\u00eb, nj\u00eb burr\u00eb me besim t\u00eb ngroht\u00eb dhe nderim t\u00eb thell\u00eb p\u00ebr Zotin. Prind\u00ebrit e saj iu lut\u00ebn Zotit me vite q\u00eb t&#x27;u jepte nj\u00eb f\u00ebmij\u00eb dhe ata e mor\u00ebn at\u00eb pas lutjeve t\u00eb nj\u00eb abati t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb, t\u00eb cilin babai i saj e respektonte. Kur vajza e vog\u00ebl ishte dymb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb vje\u00e7, ajo humbi n\u00ebn\u00ebn e saj dhe Paphnutius iu p\u00ebrkushtua me shum\u00eb dashuri p\u00ebr rritjen e saj. Ai i m\u00ebsoi asaj Shkrimet e Shenjta dhe shpesh e \u00e7onte n\u00eb manastir ku ajo kishte nj\u00eb baba shpirt\u00ebror. N\u00eb mosh\u00ebn tet\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb vje\u00e7, vajza dukej e arsimuar, inteligjente dhe e bukur, nd\u00ebrsa reputacioni i saj ishte p\u00ebrhapur tashm\u00eb n\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00eb qytetin. Shum\u00eb t\u00eb rinj t\u00eb shquar k\u00ebrkuan Eufrosinen\u00eb p\u00ebr grua dhe babai i saj m\u00eb n\u00eb fund zgjodhi djalin e nj\u00eb zoti shum\u00eb fisnik. Por dashuria hyjnore kishte z\u00ebn\u00eb rr\u00ebnj\u00eb brenda saj dhe mendimi i martes\u00ebs s\u00eb k\u00ebsaj bote i dukej nj\u00eb penges\u00eb p\u00ebr jet\u00ebn q\u00eb ajo d\u00ebshironte. Kur Paphnutius ishte larguar p\u00ebr disa dit\u00eb n\u00eb manastirin e tij t\u00eb dashur, ajo ftoi fshehurazi nj\u00eb murg plak n\u00eb sht\u00ebpi. Ajo ia hapi zemr\u00ebn, i shpjegoi d\u00ebshir\u00ebn e saj p\u00ebr Krishtin dhe iu lut q\u00eb ta b\u00ebnte murgesh\u00eb. Plaku, pasi e provoi vendimin e saj me fjal\u00ebt e Ungjillit, e la aty n\u00eb sht\u00ebpi dhe e veshi n\u00eb form\u00eb. M\u00eb par\u00eb ua shp\u00ebrndante t\u00eb varf\u00ebrve at\u00eb q\u00eb kishte, duke mbajtur vet\u00ebm pes\u00ebdhjet\u00eb monedha ari p\u00ebr manastirin. T\u00eb nes\u00ebrmen ajo u paraqit n\u00eb port\u00ebn e t\u00eb nj\u00ebjtit manastirin e burrave q\u00eb babai i saj kishte vizituar si f\u00ebmij\u00eb. Ajo i tha abatit se ishte nj\u00eb eunuk nga pallati i perandorit dhe d\u00ebshironte jet\u00ebn e vetmuar, duke i dh\u00ebn\u00eb vetes emrin Emerald. Igumeni e pranoi me g\u00ebzim, ia dor\u00ebzoi plakut t\u00eb virtytsh\u00ebm Agapitos p\u00ebr udh\u00ebheqje shpirt\u00ebrore dhe ia urdh\u00ebroi bindjen e rrept\u00eb. Nd\u00ebrkoh\u00eb, Pafnutius u kthye n\u00eb sht\u00ebpi dhe e gjeti dhom\u00ebn e vajz\u00ebs s\u00eb tij bosh. Ai d\u00ebrgoi njer\u00ebz n\u00eb qytete, porte, male dhe shkret\u00ebtir\u00eb, por asnj\u00eb gjurm\u00eb nuk mund t\u00eb shihej askund. T\u00eb gjith\u00eb e vajtuan fisniken sikur t\u00eb kishte vdekur. I d\u00ebrmuar, babai vrapoi n\u00eb manastirin e babait t\u00eb tij shpirt\u00ebror dhe iu lut t\u00eb gjith\u00eb v\u00ebllaz\u00ebris\u00eb q\u00eb t\u00eb lutej p\u00ebr fatin e vajz\u00ebs s\u00eb tij. P\u00ebr nj\u00eb jav\u00eb t\u00eb t\u00ebr\u00eb murgjit agj\u00ebruan dhe iu lut\u00ebn Zotit, por nuk iu dha asnj\u00eb zbules\u00eb nga qielli. Babai hyri n\u00eb qeli pa e njohur vajz\u00ebn e tij, pasi ushtrimi rigoroz i kishte ndryshuar t\u00ebr\u00ebsisht tiparet. Por ajo e njohu menj\u00ebher\u00eb dhe shp\u00ebrtheu n\u00eb lot, duke fshehur fytyr\u00ebn me fshik\u00ebz. Ai i foli me urt\u00ebsi p\u00ebr durimin, fal\u00ebnderimin dhe shpres\u00ebn n\u00eb Zot. Pafnutius u largua i mbushur me g\u00ebzim t\u00eb pap\u00ebrshkruesh\u00ebm, duke th\u00ebn\u00eb se zemra e tij ishte p\u00ebrmbytur sikur t\u00eb kishte gjetur f\u00ebmij\u00ebn e tij t\u00eb humbur. N\u00eb qelin\u00eb e p\u00ebrulur kaluan gjithsej tridhjet\u00eb e tet\u00eb vjet dhe Eufrosina shk\u00eblqeu si nj\u00eb perl\u00eb e \u00e7muar n\u00eb Jerusalemin tok\u00ebsor t\u00eb v\u00ebllaz\u00ebris\u00eb monastike. Kur ajo u s\u00ebmur r\u00ebnd\u00eb dhe kuptoi se ishte koha p\u00ebr pushimin e saj qiellor, ajo k\u00ebrkoi q\u00eb babai i saj t\u00eb vinte p\u00ebr her\u00eb t\u00eb fundit. Menj\u00ebher\u00eb vrapoi dhe ra pran\u00eb shtratit, duke vajtuar p\u00ebr v\u00ebllain e dashur q\u00eb po humbiste. Pastaj osia e shikoi me qet\u00ebsi dhe zbuloi sekretin e saj: ishte Eufrosyne, vajza q\u00eb ai e k\u00ebrkonte prej kat\u00ebr dekadash. Ajo i k\u00ebrkoi q\u00eb t\u00eb kujdesej vet\u00eb p\u00ebr varrimin e saj dhe t&#x27;ia kushtonte trash\u00ebgimin\u00eb at\u00ebrore manastirit. Me k\u00ebto fjal\u00eb ajo ia dor\u00ebzoi paq\u00ebsisht shpirtin Zotit. Pafnutius ra pa ndjenja nga emocionet dhe pik\u00ebllimi dhe Agapitus iu desh t&#x27;i sillte uj\u00eb. Kur erdhi n\u00eb vete, kuptoi se zija ishte m\u00ebkat p\u00ebr ata q\u00eb fituan jet\u00ebn e p\u00ebrjetshme. K\u00ebshtu ai e shp\u00ebrndau pasurin\u00eb e tij p\u00ebr t\u00eb varf\u00ebrit, kishat dhe manastiret, dhe pjes\u00ebn tjet\u00ebr ia ofroi manastirit t\u00eb vajz\u00ebs s\u00eb tij.
