Peshkopi Hypatius dhe plaku Andrea preferuan k\u00ebt\u00eb martirizim sesa mohimin e nderit t\u00eb ikonave t\u00eb shenjta p\u00ebrpara perandorit Leo Isaur. Dy shenjtor\u00ebt erdh\u00ebn nga vendi i Lidias dhe q\u00eb nga f\u00ebmij\u00ebria studionin s\u00eb bashku n\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjtin manastir, duke zbukuruar shpirtrat e tyre me \u00e7do virtyt. Sa m\u00eb shum\u00eb rriteshin, aq m\u00eb thell\u00eb rr\u00ebnjosi besimi dhe dashuria e tyre p\u00ebr Krishtin. Kur arrit\u00ebn pjekurin\u00eb, Hypatius u b\u00eb murg dhe gjithmon\u00eb k\u00ebrkonte qet\u00ebsi dhe pun\u00eb t\u00eb fsheht\u00eb p\u00ebrpara Zotit. Andrea ia kushtoi s\u00ebrish jet\u00ebn popullit dhe u b\u00eb klerik me nj\u00eb predikim t\u00eb zjarrt\u00eb n\u00eb Kish\u00eb. Nj\u00eb virtyt t\u00eb ngjash\u00ebm tregoi Hypati n\u00eb luft\u00ebn e tij asketike, pa iu shfaqur kurr\u00eb shum\u00eb njer\u00ebzve. K\u00ebshtu ata ndri\u00e7uan Azin\u00eb e Vog\u00ebl me heshtjen dhe fjalimin e tyre n\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjt\u00ebn koh\u00eb. Reputacioni i virtytit t\u00eb tyre arriti shpejt te kryepeshkopi i Efesit, i cili donte t&#x27;i njihte personalisht. Duke biseduar me ta, ai p\u00ebrfitoi aq shum\u00eb sa i donte thell\u00ebsisht dhe donte t&#x27;i mbante n\u00eb sh\u00ebrbim t\u00eb Kish\u00ebs. Por n\u00eb ato vite, Leo Isaurus u ngjit n\u00eb fron dhe filloi nj\u00eb persekutim mizor kund\u00ebr ikonave t\u00eb shenjta. Ai urdh\u00ebroi q\u00eb imazhet t\u00eb hiqen nga tempujt dhe ndaloi rrept\u00ebsisht adhurimin e tyre n\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00eb perandorin\u00eb. Ata than\u00eb se besimtar\u00ebt nuk duhet t\u00eb d\u00ebgjojn\u00eb urdhrin e pazot mbret\u00ebror, por t&#x27;i p\u00ebrmbahen tradit\u00ebs s\u00eb Et\u00ebrve t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb. Kur perandori m\u00ebsoi p\u00ebr k\u00ebt\u00eb, ai urdh\u00ebroi t&#x27;i sillnin para tij dhe u p\u00ebrpoq me fjal\u00eb t\u00eb buta t&#x27;i bindte ata t\u00eb refuzonin nderin e imazheve. Madje ai i kishte hapur nj\u00eb debat t\u00eb diturve t\u00eb tij, p\u00ebr t&#x27;i mposhtur me argumente. Dy ushtar\u00ebt trima t\u00eb Krishtit, megjithat\u00eb, mbrojt\u00ebn besimin e drejt\u00eb dhe iu p\u00ebrgjigj\u00ebn qart\u00eb \u00e7do kund\u00ebrshtimi. Persekutori nuk mundi t&#x27;i tundte shtyllat e q\u00ebndrueshme t\u00eb Kish\u00ebs as me fjal\u00eb e as me premtime. Pastaj i mbylli n\u00eb nj\u00eb burg t\u00eb err\u00ebt dhe i mbajti atje p\u00ebr nj\u00eb koh\u00eb t\u00eb gjat\u00eb, me shpres\u00ebn se mizoria do t&#x27;i p\u00ebrkulte. Por shenjtor\u00ebt q\u00ebndruan t\u00eb pashqet\u00ebsuar n\u00eb rr\u00ebfimin e tyre dhe vazhduan t&#x27;i luteshin Zotit. Duke par\u00eb se durimi i tyre tejkalonte \u00e7do mas\u00eb njer\u00ebzore, perandori u t\u00ebrbua dhe vendosi t&#x27;i torturonte. Ai urdh\u00ebroi q\u00eb t\u00eb rriheshin pa m\u00ebshir\u00eb dhe t\u00eb fillonin torturat e tmerrshme. Ekzekutuesit q\u00ebroni l\u00ebkur\u00ebn s\u00eb bashku me flok\u00ebt nga kokat e shenjtor\u00ebve dhe lyen mjekr\u00ebn e tyre me katran. Pastaj i vun\u00eb zjarrin dhe u dogj\u00ebn imazhet e shenjta n\u00eb kok\u00eb, p\u00ebr t&#x27;i posht\u00ebruar n\u00eb syt\u00eb e t\u00eb gjith\u00ebve. T\u00eb gjitha k\u00ebto d\u00ebshmor\u00ebt e p\u00ebsuan trim\u00ebrisht dhe mbet\u00ebn t\u00eb gjall\u00eb me fuqin\u00eb e Zotit, q\u00eb i forcoi duksh\u00ebm. M\u00eb pas Leo urdh\u00ebroi q\u00eb t\u00eb t\u00ebrhiqeshin zvarr\u00eb n\u00ebp\u00ebr rrug\u00ebt e qytetit, p\u00ebr t&#x27;u b\u00ebr\u00eb nj\u00eb spektak\u00ebl dhe nj\u00eb objekt p\u00ebr t\u00eb qeshur p\u00ebr kalimtar\u00ebt. N\u00eb fund ata u ther\u00ebn si qengja dhe k\u00ebshtu i dor\u00ebzuan shpirtrat e tyre n\u00eb duart e Zotit p\u00ebr t\u00eb cilin luftuan. Eshtrat e tyre t\u00eb ndersh\u00ebm u hodh\u00ebn n\u00eb rrug\u00eb, p\u00ebr t&#x27;u b\u00ebr\u00eb ushqim p\u00ebr qent\u00eb dhe p\u00ebr t\u00eb mos mbetur asnj\u00eb gjurm\u00eb nga rr\u00ebfimi i tyre. Por besimtar\u00ebt i mor\u00ebn fshehurazi nat\u00ebn dhe i varros\u00ebn me nder, si\u00e7 u ka hije d\u00ebshmor\u00ebve t\u00eb till\u00eb. Kujtimi i tyre zuri rr\u00ebnj\u00eb thell\u00eb n\u00eb Kish\u00eb dhe p\u00ebrkujtohet me nderim m\u00eb 21 shtator.
