Nd\u00ebr to spikaste nj\u00eb vajz\u00eb e vog\u00ebl fisnik\u00ebsh, Eufemia, e cila shum\u00eb shpejt do t\u00eb b\u00ebhej martirja m\u00eb rrezatuese e koh\u00ebs s\u00eb saj. Ai jetoi n\u00eb vitet e perandorit Dioklecian dhe u martirizua n\u00eb Kalqedon, p\u00ebrball\u00eb Kostandinopoj\u00ebs. Ajo lindi nga prind\u00ebr t\u00eb pasur dhe t\u00eb per\u00ebndish\u00ebm, senatori Filofron dhe Teodoresia, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt e rrit\u00ebn me dashurin\u00eb e v\u00ebrtet\u00eb p\u00ebr Krishtin. Kur prokonsulli Priscus p\u00ebrgatiti nj\u00eb fest\u00eb t\u00eb mrekullueshme p\u00ebr Aresin, ai urdh\u00ebroi t\u00eb gjith\u00eb banor\u00ebt e rajonit t&#x27;i b\u00ebnin flijime idhullit. Ata q\u00eb refuzuan t\u00eb merrnin pjes\u00eb n\u00eb fest\u00eb u k\u00ebrc\u00ebnuan me tortura t\u00eb tmerrshme dhe vdekje mizore. M\u00eb pas t\u00eb krishter\u00ebt u fsheh\u00ebn n\u00ebp\u00ebr sht\u00ebpi dhe vende t\u00eb shkreta, p\u00ebr t&#x27;i shp\u00ebtuar zem\u00ebrimit t\u00eb tiranit. N\u00eb nj\u00eb sht\u00ebpi t\u00eb till\u00eb u mblodh\u00ebn dyzet e n\u00ebnt\u00eb besimtar\u00eb dhe iu lut\u00ebn fshehurazi Zotit t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00eb. Midis tyre, Eufemia shquhej p\u00ebr past\u00ebrtin\u00eb e saj rinore dhe virtytin e thell\u00eb. Por shpejt ushtar\u00ebt zbuluan streh\u00ebn e tyre dhe i \u00e7uan t\u00eb lidhur para togerit. Priscus i akuzoi ata p\u00ebr p\u00ebrbuzje t\u00eb urdhrit mbret\u00ebror dhe adhurimit t\u00eb Aresit t\u00eb madh. T\u00eb krishter\u00ebt u p\u00ebrgjigj\u00ebn me p\u00ebrbuzje se nuk do t\u00eb adhuronin kurr\u00eb idhujt e vdekur n\u00eb vend t\u00eb Krijuesit t\u00eb qiellit dhe tok\u00ebs. Ata deklaruan se as dhuratat, as nderimet, as torturat e tmerrshme nuk mund t&#x27;i largonin nga besimi i v\u00ebrtet\u00eb. Prokonsulli, i t\u00ebrbuar nga guximi i tyre, urdh\u00ebroi tortura t\u00eb r\u00ebnda q\u00eb zgjat\u00ebn n\u00ebnt\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb dit\u00eb t\u00eb t\u00ebra. D\u00ebshmor\u00ebt duronin \u00e7do dit\u00eb plag\u00eb t\u00eb reja, uri dhe etje, t\u00eb pal\u00ebkundur n\u00eb rr\u00ebfimin e tyre t\u00eb pal\u00ebkundur. Pleqt\u00eb e inkurajuan Eufemin\u00eb e re q\u00eb t\u00eb p\u00ebrpiqej p\u00ebr Dh\u00ebndrin e saj qiellor. Kur kaluan n\u00ebnt\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb dit\u00ebt, Priscus vendosi t&#x27;ia d\u00ebrgonte pjes\u00ebn tjet\u00ebr perandorit Dioklecian p\u00ebr gjykim. Por m\u00eb t\u00eb vogl\u00ebn Eufimian e mbajti pran\u00eb, me shpres\u00ebn se e vetme dhe e pafuqishme do t\u00eb p\u00ebrkulej m\u00eb leht\u00eb. Shenjtori iu lut me zjarr Zotit q\u00eb ta forconte p\u00ebr sprov\u00ebn e madhe q\u00eb po vinte. Tirani i premtoi asaj pasuri, nderime dhe lavdi, n\u00ebse ajo do ta mohonte Krishtin dhe do t\u00eb adhuronte idhujt. Por ajo u p\u00ebrgjigj me guxim, duke th\u00ebn\u00eb se fuqia e besimit t\u00eb saj \u00ebsht\u00eb pakrahasueshme m\u00eb e madhe se \u00e7do k\u00ebrc\u00ebnim njer\u00ebzor. At\u00ebher\u00eb Prisku urdh\u00ebroi q\u00eb shenjtorja t\u00eb lidhej n\u00eb nj\u00eb rrot\u00eb me thika t\u00eb mprehta, n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb q\u00eb trupi i saj i virgj\u00ebr t\u00eb ndahej n\u00eb copa. Nd\u00ebrsa makina u kthye, Efimia po lutej me z\u00eb t\u00eb lart\u00eb dhe papritmas rrota ndaloi pa ndonj\u00eb shkak njer\u00ebzor. Nj\u00eb engj\u00ebll i Zotit zbriti nga qielli, e shpengoi nga rrota dhe sh\u00ebroi t\u00eb gjitha plag\u00ebt e trupit t\u00eb saj. Tirani nuk pranoi t\u00eb njihte mrekullin\u00eb dhe urdh\u00ebroi q\u00eb shenjtori t\u00eb hidhej n\u00eb nj\u00eb furr\u00eb t\u00eb ndezur. Ushtar\u00ebt Victor dhe Sosthenes pan\u00eb engj\u00ebj n\u00eb flak\u00eb dhe refuzuan t\u00eb zbatonin urdhrin. Ata rr\u00ebfyen publikisht besimin e tyre n\u00eb Krishtin dhe u d\u00ebnuan t\u00eb cop\u00ebtoheshin nga kafsh\u00ebt e egra n\u00eb aren\u00eb. Kur ata u \u00e7uan n\u00eb vendin e martirizimit, ata iu lut\u00ebn Zotit q\u00eb t&#x27;i merrte shpirtrat e tyre n\u00eb Mbret\u00ebrin\u00eb e tij. Nj\u00eb z\u00eb hyjnor u d\u00ebgjua nga qielli dhe dy ushtar\u00ebt dhan\u00eb shpirtin e tyre n\u00eb paqe. Bishat nuk e prek\u00ebn lipsanin e tyre t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt m\u00eb von\u00eb u varros\u00ebn nga besimtar\u00ebt. Eufemia u hodh nga ushtar\u00eb t\u00eb tjer\u00eb n\u00eb zjarr, por mbeti e pad\u00ebmtuar, pasi vet\u00eb Krishti zbriti n\u00eb furr\u00eb dhe e ftohte me ves\u00eb qiellore. Prokonsulli, duke mos ditur se \u00e7far\u00eb t\u00eb mendonte tjet\u00ebr, ia atribuoi mrekullit\u00eb magjis\u00eb dhe shpiku marifete t\u00eb reja. Ai urdh\u00ebroi t\u00eb hapej nj\u00eb grop\u00eb plot me thika dhe arm\u00eb t\u00eb mprehta dhe e mbuluan me dhe dhe deg\u00eb. Por shenjtori kaloi leht\u00eb si zog, nd\u00ebrsa pagan\u00ebt q\u00eb nuk e njihnin kurthin ran\u00eb dhe humb\u00ebn jet\u00ebn. M\u00eb pas ajo u hodh n\u00eb nj\u00eb grop\u00eb plot me gjarp\u00ebrinj dhe zvarranik\u00eb deti, por kafsh\u00ebt e mbanin n\u00eb shpin\u00eb pa e d\u00ebmtuar. M\u00eb n\u00eb fund Priscus e d\u00ebnoi shenjtoren me kafsh\u00ebt e aren\u00ebs, duke menduar se ky do t\u00eb ishte fundi i mundimit t\u00eb saj. Luan\u00ebt dhe arinjt\u00eb iu afruan asaj, por vet\u00ebm ia l\u00ebpinin k\u00ebmb\u00ebt me rregullsi. Nj\u00eb ari i shkaktoi asaj nj\u00eb plag\u00eb t\u00eb vog\u00ebl dhe shenjtorja ia dor\u00ebzoi menj\u00ebher\u00eb shpirtin Zotit q\u00eb ajo e donte aq shum\u00eb. N\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjt\u00ebn koh\u00eb pati nj\u00eb t\u00ebrmet, qyteti u drodh, muret ran\u00eb dhe tempujt pagan\u00eb u shkat\u00ebrruan. Prind\u00ebrit e saj e mor\u00ebn trupin e shenjt\u00eb dhe e varros\u00ebn me nder t\u00eb madh pran\u00eb Kalqedonit, duke fal\u00ebnderuar Zotin p\u00ebr vajz\u00ebn e tyre martire. Nj\u00eb tempull i mrekulluesh\u00ebm kushtuar emrit t\u00eb saj u nd\u00ebrtua m\u00eb von\u00eb mbi varrin e saj. Aty u mblodh t\u00eb m\u00ebrkur\u00ebn Koncili Ekumenik, n\u00eb vitin kat\u00ebrqind e pes\u00ebdhjet\u00eb e nj\u00eb pas Krishtit, i cili d\u00ebnoi herezin\u00eb e monofizit\u00ebve. Shenjtorja v\u00ebrtetoi mrekullisht rr\u00ebfimin ortodoks, pasi v\u00ebllimi i heretik\u00ebve u hodh posht\u00eb nga altari i saj. Kjo mrekulli kremtohet edhe sot e k\u00ebsaj dite \u00e7do nj\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb korrik, me nder t\u00eb madh n\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00eb Kish\u00ebn. Nga varri i saj rridhte rregullisht, sidomos gjat\u00eb fest\u00ebs s\u00eb saj, mirr\u00eb aromatike dhe nj\u00eb lum\u00eb gjaku mrekullib\u00ebr\u00ebs q\u00eb v\u00ebrshonte shpirtrat e pelegrin\u00ebve. P\u00ebr shekuj me radh\u00eb nj\u00eb mori besimtar\u00ebsh nxituan drejt martirizimit t\u00eb saj p\u00ebr t\u00eb marr\u00eb ndihm\u00eb dhe ngush\u00ebllim. Kur Persian\u00ebt pushtuan Kalqedonin, faltoret e lipsanit u transferuan n\u00eb Kostandinopoj\u00eb, rreth gjasht\u00ebqind e nj\u00ebzet pas Krishtit. Gjat\u00eb viteve t\u00eb ikonoklazm\u00ebs, larnaka u hodh n\u00eb det, por detar\u00ebt e devotsh\u00ebm e gjet\u00ebn dhe e mbajt\u00ebn n\u00eb Lemnos.
