Ky konvertim i nj\u00eb njeriu kaq t\u00eb shquar ndezi zem\u00ebrimin e perandorit Maksimian dhe e solli kontin Eutolmius n\u00eb gjurm\u00ebt e tij. Agathonikos vinte nga familja e famshme e Hypasian\u00ebve dhe jetoi n\u00eb Nikomedi gjat\u00eb viteve t\u00eb persekutimit t\u00eb madh. Ai kishte nj\u00eb njohuri t\u00eb thell\u00eb t\u00eb Shkrimeve dhe me m\u00ebsimet e tij udh\u00ebhoqi shum\u00eb pagan\u00eb n\u00eb besimin e Krishtit. Konti Eutolmius ishte d\u00ebrguar nga perandori n\u00eb rajonet e Pontit p\u00ebr t\u00eb p\u00ebrndjekur besimtar\u00ebt me \u00e7do mjet. Gjat\u00eb udh\u00ebtimit t\u00eb tij ai mb\u00ebrriti n\u00eb vendin e quajtur Karpi dhe atje takoi Agios Zoticos s\u00eb bashku me dishepujt e tij. Zotikos shpalli me sfid\u00eb Krishtin dhe refuzoi \u00e7do sakrific\u00eb p\u00ebr idhujt e pagan\u00ebve. Konti urdh\u00ebroi menj\u00ebher\u00eb q\u00eb dishepujt e tij t\u00eb kryq\u00ebzoheshin, nd\u00ebrsa ai mori vet\u00eb Zotin t\u00eb lidhur me vete p\u00ebr t\u00eb vazhduar vepr\u00ebn e p\u00ebrndjekjes mizore. Pas kthimit n\u00eb Nikomedia, Eutolmios arrestoi Sh\u00ebn Agathonikos s\u00eb bashku me princin e shquar t\u00eb Sinodit, i cili ishte b\u00ebr\u00eb i krishter\u00eb fal\u00eb m\u00ebsimeve t\u00eb tij. Kortezhit iu bashkuan rr\u00ebfimtar\u00eb t\u00eb tjer\u00eb besnik\u00eb, Theoprepius, Acindynus dhe Severianus, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt kishin refuzuar t\u00eb adhuronin idhujt. Konti i n\u00ebnshtroi ata n\u00eb tortura t\u00eb tmerrshme dhe m\u00eb pas urdh\u00ebroi t&#x27;i transferonin n\u00eb Traki, ku ndodhej edhe vet\u00eb perandori Maksimian. Por rrug\u00ebs, pran\u00eb vendit t\u00eb quajtur Potamos, plag\u00ebt e d\u00ebshmor\u00ebve kishin arritur aq shum\u00eb sa nuk i lejonin t\u00eb ecnin. Zoticus, Theoprepius dhe Akindynus nuk mund t\u00eb ndiqnin m\u00eb qerren e sundimtarit dhe u lan\u00eb pas t\u00eb gjakosur dhe t\u00eb rraskapitur. Pastaj Eutolmios urdh\u00ebroi t&#x27;i vrisnin n\u00eb vend dhe k\u00ebshtu ia dor\u00ebzuan shpirtin Krishtit. Shoq\u00ebruesi vazhdoi n\u00eb pjes\u00ebt e Kalqedonit, ku Severiani rr\u00ebfeu s\u00ebrish me guxim besimin e tij p\u00ebrpara kontit. Ai urdh\u00ebroi menj\u00ebher\u00eb t&#x27;i prisnin kok\u00ebn d\u00ebshmorit trim buz\u00eb detit. Rr\u00ebfimtar\u00ebt e tjer\u00eb, s\u00eb bashku me Sh\u00ebn Agathonikos dhe princin e sinagog\u00ebs, konti i \u00e7oi t\u00eb lidhur n\u00eb Bizant. Aty i torturoi p\u00ebr ca koh\u00eb me mizori t\u00eb reja, duke k\u00ebrkuar q\u00eb t\u00eb p\u00ebrkulej q\u00ebndrueshm\u00ebria e tyre n\u00eb besimin e krishter\u00eb. Pastaj i transportoi n\u00eb Silivria, n\u00eb vendin e quajtur Ammus, ku ishte vendosur p\u00ebrkoh\u00ebsisht perandori Maksimian. Aty u b\u00eb sprova e fundit dhe m\u00eb e r\u00ebnd\u00eb p\u00ebr d\u00ebshmor\u00ebt me lloj-lloj torturash dhe k\u00ebrc\u00ebnimesh. Por asnj\u00ebri prej tyre nuk u p\u00ebrkul apo mohoi emrin e Zotit q\u00eb e donin aq shum\u00eb. Me urdh\u00ebr perandorak u pren\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00eb s\u00eb bashku n\u00eb dit\u00ebn e nj\u00ebzet e dyt\u00eb t\u00eb gushtit, duke marr\u00eb kuror\u00ebn e sportit. Lipsani i shenjt\u00eb i Sh\u00ebn Agathonikos u transferua m\u00eb von\u00eb n\u00eb Kostandinopoj\u00eb dhe u depozitua n\u00eb nj\u00eb tempull kushtuar emrit t\u00eb tij. Aty ka adhuruar edhe pelegrini rus Antonios rreth vitit 1200.
