Kur u rrit, shp\u00ebrndau gjith\u00eb pasurin\u00eb e tij dhe ecte me lecka n\u00ebp\u00ebr rrug\u00ebt e Smolenskut. Ai lindi n\u00eb mesin e shekullit XII dhe q\u00eb n\u00eb f\u00ebmij\u00ebri u rrit me frik\u00ebn ndaj Zotit n\u00eb shpirt. Ai shkonte shpesh n\u00eb kish\u00eb dhe e donte me pasion studimin e librave t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb q\u00eb n\u00eb f\u00ebmij\u00ebri. Prind\u00ebrit e tij \u00ebnd\u00ebrronin ta shihnin t\u00eb martuar n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb q\u00eb ai t\u00eb mund t\u00eb vazhdonte prejardhjen e tyre t\u00eb shquar. N\u00eb manastir, shenjtori kaloi n\u00ebp\u00ebr sh\u00ebrbesa t\u00eb ndryshme dhe iu p\u00ebrkushtua me pasion kopjimit t\u00eb librave t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb. Nga ato faqe ai nxori thesare t\u00eb pasura shpirt\u00ebrore p\u00ebr shpirtin e tij. Princi i Smolenskut, Romanos Rostislavich, kishte krijuar nj\u00eb shkoll\u00eb n\u00eb qytet, ku m\u00ebsoheshin shkronjat sllave, greke dhe latine. Vet\u00eb princi kishte nj\u00eb bibliotek\u00eb t\u00eb madhe, t\u00eb cil\u00ebn edhe shenjtori Abramio e p\u00ebrdorte shpesh p\u00ebr studimin e tij. Ai kishte m\u00eb shum\u00eb se tridhjet\u00eb vjet q\u00eb po luftonte n\u00eb manastir, kur igumeni e bindi t\u00eb pranonte detyr\u00ebn e presbiterit. Ky rrezatim, megjithat\u00eb, shkaktoi zilin\u00eb e v\u00ebllez\u00ebrve dhe m\u00eb pas edhe t\u00eb igumenit t\u00eb manastirit. N\u00eb nj\u00ebr\u00ebn ai p\u00ebrshkruante Ardhjen e Dyt\u00eb t\u00eb Madhe dhe n\u00eb tjetr\u00ebn vuajtjet e dhimbshme t\u00eb jet\u00ebs njer\u00ebzore n\u00eb bot\u00eb. Nga mundimi dhe agj\u00ebrimi ishte b\u00ebr\u00eb i holl\u00eb dhe i zbeht\u00eb dhe dukej si Vasili i Madh. Ai ishte i rrept\u00eb me veten dhe po aq i rrept\u00eb me f\u00ebmij\u00ebt e tij shpirt\u00ebror\u00eb, por plot dashuri. Pas vdekjes s\u00eb Sh\u00ebn Ignatit, i cili ishte b\u00ebr\u00eb miku i tij shpirt\u00ebror, shenjtori vazhdoi vepr\u00ebn e tij me entuziaz\u00ebm edhe m\u00eb t\u00eb madh. Ai i nxiti v\u00ebllez\u00ebrit q\u00eb t\u00eb mendonin vazhdimisht p\u00ebr vdekjen dhe t\u00eb luteshin nat\u00eb e dit\u00eb.
