Neomartir Ignatius, i lindur Jacob Vasiliiuk, lindi n\u00eb Poloni rreth dekad\u00ebs s\u00eb tet\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00ebqind e gjasht\u00ebdhjet\u00eb. Vitet e para t\u00eb jet\u00ebs s\u00eb tij pak gj\u00ebra jan\u00eb shp\u00ebtuar, madje nuk dihet sakt\u00ebsisht vendlindja e tij. Sh\u00ebrbesa q\u00eb ia besuan baballar\u00ebt ishte bija e kambanave p\u00ebr sh\u00ebrbesat e shenjta. Me dashuri dhe q\u00ebndrueshm\u00ebri ai ngjitej \u00e7do dit\u00eb n\u00eb kambanore, duke i thirrur v\u00ebllez\u00ebrit n\u00eb adhurimin e Zotit. Kjo vep\u00ebr modeste e kamban\u00ebs do t\u00eb b\u00ebhej m\u00eb von\u00eb martirizimi i tij i fundit. N\u00eb shtator t\u00eb vitit 1939, nd\u00ebrtesat e manastirit u pushtuan nga ushtar\u00ebt gjerman\u00eb, n\u00eb mes t\u00eb luft\u00ebs s\u00eb re. Pushtuesit konfiskuan ushqimin dhe bag\u00ebtin\u00eb e v\u00ebllaz\u00ebris\u00eb, duke i l\u00ebn\u00eb murgjit n\u00eb munges\u00eb dhe pasiguri t\u00eb madhe. Me gjith\u00eb presionet dhe v\u00ebshtir\u00ebsit\u00eb, baballar\u00ebt nuk e braktis\u00ebn manastirin e tyre dhe nuk i nd\u00ebrpren\u00eb sh\u00ebrbesat e shenjta. Madje, komandantit t\u00eb ushtris\u00eb pushtuese i kan\u00eb shkruar nj\u00eb let\u00ebr proteste, duke k\u00ebrkuar respekt p\u00ebr hap\u00ebsir\u00ebn e shenjt\u00eb. Por ky veprim nuk solli asnj\u00eb rezultat dhe situata vazhdoi t\u00eb p\u00ebrkeq\u00ebsohej dita-dit\u00ebs. Nat\u00ebn e n\u00ebnt\u00eb deri m\u00eb dhjet\u00eb gusht, n\u00ebnt\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb e dyzet e dy, rojet i vun\u00eb zjarrin manastirit. Flak\u00ebt shkat\u00ebrruan plot\u00ebsisht pjes\u00ebn e brendshme t\u00eb manastirit, i cili p\u00ebr shekuj priti lutjen e et\u00ebrve. Murgjit dol\u00ebn me shpejt\u00ebsi nga nd\u00ebrtesat e djegura t\u00eb tmerruar dhe u mblodh\u00ebn s\u00eb bashku n\u00eb oborr. Gjerman\u00ebt nuk lejuan ask\u00ebnd t\u00eb shuante zjarrin, nd\u00ebrsa k\u00ebrc\u00ebnuan se do t\u00eb q\u00ebllonin ata q\u00eb tentonin t\u00eb rezistonin. Tani situata ishte b\u00ebr\u00eb tragjike dhe manastiri dukej si nj\u00eb furr\u00eb para syve t\u00eb v\u00ebllez\u00ebrve. Mes panikut t\u00eb p\u00ebrgjithsh\u00ebm, disa murgj arrit\u00ebn t\u00eb shp\u00ebtonin dhe t\u00eb shp\u00ebtonin veten, duke u fshehur n\u00eb fushat dhe pyjet p\u00ebrreth. Megjithat\u00eb, Sh\u00ebn Ignatios nuk e llogariti jet\u00ebn dhe vrapoi drejt kambanores s\u00eb manastirit. Ai kapi me forc\u00eb litarin e ziles dhe filloi t\u00eb thot\u00eb me gjith\u00eb shpirt. Nd\u00ebrkoh\u00eb, banor\u00ebt e Iamblecna-s nxituan n\u00eb manastir p\u00ebr t\u00eb ndihmuar murgjit. Gjerman\u00ebt i arrestuan menj\u00ebher\u00eb dhe i mbajt\u00ebn n\u00eb oborr me pjes\u00ebn tjet\u00ebr t\u00eb v\u00ebllaz\u00ebris\u00eb. Pastaj i detyruan murgjit t\u00eb g\u00ebrmonin me duart e tyre varret ku do t\u00eb varroseshin. N\u00eb fund ata q\u00eblluan me gjakftoht\u00ebsi t\u00eb gjith\u00eb ata q\u00eb ishin mbledhur n\u00eb rrethim, duke mos l\u00ebn\u00eb t\u00eb mbijetuar. Gjaku i murgjve dhe fshatar\u00ebve t\u00eb pafajsh\u00ebm ujiti tok\u00ebn e manastirit at\u00eb nat\u00eb. Qefini i shenjt\u00eb i Sh\u00ebn Ignatit fillimisht u varros n\u00eb varrezat e Manastirit t\u00eb Sh\u00ebn Onufri n\u00eb Iambletsna. M\u00eb von\u00eb reliket e tij t\u00eb shenjta u transferuan me nderime n\u00eb Katedralen e Sh\u00ebn Aleksand\u00ebr Nevskit. Aty ruhen si nj\u00eb thesar i \u00e7muar dhe vend pelegrinazhi p\u00ebr besimtar\u00ebt e Polonis\u00eb Orthodhokse. Sh\u00ebn Ignatios llogaritet nd\u00ebr d\u00ebshmor\u00ebt e Chelmit dhe Podlasie, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt ran\u00eb d\u00ebshmor\u00eb n\u00eb vitet e v\u00ebshtira. Kisha e Shenjt\u00eb Orthodhokse e Polonis\u00eb e shpalli at\u00eb zyrtarisht t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb n\u00eb vitin dy mij\u00eb e tre. Kujtimi i tij festohet m\u00eb n\u00ebnt\u00eb gusht, pik\u00ebrisht dit\u00ebn e martirizimit t\u00eb tij n\u00eb flak\u00eb. Ai nderohet edhe m\u00eb 20 mars, q\u00eb \u00ebsht\u00eb dita e kanonizimit t\u00eb tij zyrtar nga Kisha e Polonis\u00eb.
