Pran\u00eb tyre q\u00ebndronte hija e nj\u00eb prifti n\u00ebnt\u00ebdhjet\u00eb vje\u00e7ar, Eleazarit, i cili kishte paraprir\u00eb martirizimin dhe nuk kishte pranuar t\u00eb hante mish derri edhe n\u00eb hipokrizi. Ai p\u00ebrdhosi tempullin e Jeruzalemit, vendosi atje nj\u00eb statuj\u00eb t\u00eb Zeusit pagan dhe i detyroi njer\u00ebzit t\u00eb adhuronin. Shum\u00eb iu dor\u00ebzuan frik\u00ebs, por t\u00eb tjer\u00eb u mbajt\u00ebn fort pas besimit t\u00eb tyre dhe prisnin shp\u00ebtimin e Per\u00ebndis\u00eb s\u00eb Abrahamit, Isakut dhe Jakobit. Midis tyre ra n\u00eb sy plaku Eleazar, i cili kishte marr\u00eb pjes\u00eb edhe n\u00eb p\u00ebrkthimin e Septuagint\u00ebs p\u00ebr Ptoleme Filadelfin. Por i moshuari u p\u00ebrgjigj se nuk do t\u00eb b\u00ebhej skandal p\u00ebr t\u00eb rinjt\u00eb dhe nuk do t\u00eb shp\u00ebtonte jet\u00ebn e tij tok\u00ebsore duke shkelur ligjin. Ai i thirri ata t\u00eb shijojn\u00eb mishrat idhujtare dhe t\u00eb braktisin ligjin st\u00ebrgjysh\u00ebror. V\u00ebllai i madh foli n\u00eb em\u00ebr t\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00ebve me nj\u00eb qortim t\u00eb qet\u00eb. Ai i tha tiranit se ata ishin gati t\u00eb vdisnin n\u00eb vend q\u00eb t\u00eb mos i bindeshin urdhrave q\u00eb merrnin nga et\u00ebrit e tyre. M\u00eb tej ai shtoi se simpatia e mbretit, n\u00ebse shoq\u00ebrohet me paligjshm\u00ebri, do t\u00eb ishte m\u00eb e keqe se vet\u00eb kjo vdekje. Antiokusi u t\u00ebrbua dhe urdh\u00ebroi t\u00eb ngroheshin tigan\u00ebt dhe kazan\u00ebt e m\u00ebdhenj prej bakri. V\u00ebllait t\u00eb par\u00eb ia pren\u00eb gjuh\u00ebn, e plas\u00ebn, i pren\u00eb gjymtyr\u00ebt dhe e hodh\u00ebn t\u00eb gjall\u00eb n\u00eb tiganin q\u00eb digjej, p\u00ebrball\u00eb n\u00ebn\u00ebs dhe v\u00ebllez\u00ebrve. Ajo iu lut t\u00eb mos kishte frik\u00eb nga xhelati dhe t\u00eb tregohej i denj\u00eb p\u00ebr v\u00ebllez\u00ebrit e tij, q\u00eb ta gjente p\u00ebrs\u00ebri pran\u00eb saj n\u00eb mbret\u00ebrin\u00eb e Zotit. M\u00eb pas i riu iu drejtua Antiokut dhe rr\u00ebfeu se ai i bindet ligjit t\u00eb Moisiut dhe jo urdhrave t\u00eb mbretit. Ai frym\u00ebzoi Juda Makabeun, i cili ngriti nj\u00eb revolt\u00eb ushtarake kund\u00ebr Antiokut, mundi gjeneral\u00ebt e tij dhe pastroi tempullin e Jeruzalemit nga idhujt. Vet\u00eb Antiokusi p\u00ebsoi nj\u00eb nd\u00ebshkim t\u00eb tmerrsh\u00ebm n\u00eb jet\u00ebn e tij tok\u00ebsore, pasi zorr\u00ebt e tij u mbush\u00ebn me krimba dhe u detyrua t\u00eb rr\u00ebfente gjith\u00ebfuqin\u00eb e Zotit t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00eb. Por ai vdiq pa pendim t\u00eb sinqert\u00eb dhe u b\u00eb shembull i gjykimit t\u00eb drejt\u00eb.
