Jeta e tij ishte nj\u00eb ikje e vazhdueshme nga kurthet e bot\u00ebs dhe nj\u00eb k\u00ebrkim i vazhduesh\u00ebm p\u00ebr besimin e v\u00ebrtet\u00eb p\u00ebrmes pendimit t\u00eb thell\u00eb. Ai lindi n\u00eb Janin\u00eb t\u00eb Thesalis\u00eb n\u00eb vitin 1510 nga prind\u00ebr me origjin\u00eb shqiptare, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt quheshin Martinos dhe Eufrosyne, emra q\u00eb tregojn\u00eb qart\u00eb rr\u00ebfimin e tyre t\u00eb krishter\u00eb. Nikolla i ri u rrit me nj\u00eb edukat\u00eb t\u00eb pasur dhe arsim t\u00eb mir\u00eb dhe u shqua p\u00ebr bukurin\u00eb, maturin\u00eb dhe moralin e tij t\u00eb ndritur. Kur humbi prind\u00ebrit, iu drejtua pun\u00ebs fizike dhe m\u00ebsoi zanatin e k\u00ebpucarit, duke jetuar thjesht dhe me ndershm\u00ebri. Por shpirti i digjej nga d\u00ebshira p\u00ebr t&#x27;u b\u00ebr\u00eb pelegrin p\u00ebr hir t\u00eb Krishtit dhe k\u00ebshtu filloi udh\u00ebtimet e gjata. Shok\u00ebt e bind\u00ebn t\u00eb martohej dhe t\u00eb hidhte rr\u00ebnj\u00eb n\u00eb qytet, por ai nuk gjeti qet\u00ebsi n\u00eb sht\u00ebpin\u00eb bashk\u00ebshortore. Nj\u00eb nat\u00eb Nikolaos u fsheh nga t\u00eb gjith\u00eb, madje edhe nga gruaja e tij, dhe filloi bredhjet e reja n\u00eb k\u00ebrkim t\u00eb Zotit. Ai kaloi Danubin dhe u vendos n\u00eb Vllahin\u00eb hungareze, ku rifilloi zanatin e tij t\u00eb vjet\u00ebr p\u00ebr t\u00eb p\u00ebrmbushur premtimet q\u00eb i kishte dh\u00ebn\u00eb Zotit. Mirceasi ishte nj\u00eb njeri i eg\u00ebr, mizor dhe i zhytur n\u00eb t\u00eb gjitha llojet e paudh\u00ebsis\u00eb, pa asnj\u00eb gjurm\u00eb frike nga Zoti n\u00eb zemr\u00ebn e tij. K\u00ebpucari i ri nuk duronte m\u00eb t\u00eb shihte krimet e sundimtarit dhe k\u00ebrkonte nj\u00eb moment t\u00eb favorsh\u00ebm p\u00ebr t\u00eb ikur. M\u00eb 1554 ai m\u00eb n\u00eb fund mundi t\u00eb kthehej n\u00eb Sardenj\u00eb dhe t\u00eb ribashkohej me familjen q\u00eb kishte l\u00ebn\u00eb vite m\u00eb par\u00eb. Por pak m\u00eb von\u00eb i vdiq\u00ebn t\u00eb dy f\u00ebmij\u00ebt dhe dhimbja ia thelloi edhe m\u00eb shum\u00eb shpirtin. Nj\u00eb dit\u00eb musliman\u00ebt e mashtruan n\u00eb nj\u00eb vakt dhe i ofruan shum\u00eb ver\u00eb derisa u shua. Pastaj e rrethuan n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb t\u00eb pabes\u00eb, duke menduar se me k\u00ebt\u00eb akt t\u00eb pabes\u00eb do ta detyronin t\u00eb konvertohej n\u00eb Islam. Kur Nikolaos erdhi n\u00eb vete dhe kuptoi se \u00e7far\u00eb i kishin b\u00ebr\u00eb, zemra e tij u mbush me indinjat\u00eb, pik\u00ebllim dhe d\u00ebrrmim t\u00eb thell\u00eb. I gjith\u00eb viti q\u00eb pasoi shenjtori q\u00ebndroi n\u00eb lutje t\u00eb pand\u00ebrprer\u00eb dhe t\u00eb vetmuar, duke i k\u00ebrkuar Zotit q\u00eb t\u00eb shlyente rr\u00ebshqitjen. Nj\u00eb dit\u00eb pas Dit\u00ebs s\u00eb Ngjitjes, nj\u00eb turk erdhi dhe e pyeti pse nuk i zbaton rregullat e Islamit. Nikolaos iu p\u00ebrgjigj me sarkaz\u00ebm se ai kurr\u00eb nuk e tradhtoi besimin ortodoks dhe mbeti i krishter\u00eb i paprekur. Turqit u t\u00ebrbuan dhe ia n\u00ebnshtruan rrahjeve, torturave t\u00eb tmerrshme dhe m\u00eb n\u00eb fund e nxor\u00ebn n\u00eb gjyq. Kadiu u p\u00ebrpoq ta shfaj\u00ebsonte, pasi nuk kishte asnj\u00eb prov\u00eb p\u00ebr pranimin e lir\u00eb t\u00eb Islamit, por turma k\u00ebrkonte gjakun e gjoja femohuesit me fanatiz\u00ebm. M\u00eb shtat\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb maj 1555 e vran\u00eb me gur\u00eb jasht\u00eb qytetit, n\u00eb vendin e Tre Puseve. Nj\u00eb i krishter\u00eb i devotsh\u00ebm v\u00ebzhgoi ekzekutimin dhe arriti t\u00eb shp\u00ebtoj\u00eb nj\u00eb pjes\u00eb t\u00eb relikteve t\u00eb shenjta t\u00eb martirit. M\u00eb pas turqit e dogj\u00ebn trupin pran\u00eb vendit t\u00eb Tarnitsata dhe e shp\u00ebrndan\u00eb hirin n\u00eb aj\u00ebr.
