Ai refuzoi fronet ipeshkvore n\u00eb Rusi dhe Qipro nga p\u00ebrul\u00ebsia, por m\u00eb n\u00eb fund iu n\u00ebnshtrua vullnetit t\u00eb Zotit. Sh\u00ebn Leonti lindi nga prind\u00ebr t\u00eb pasur dhe t\u00eb devotsh\u00ebm, rreth gjysm\u00ebs s\u00eb dyt\u00eb t\u00eb shekullit t\u00eb dymb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb pas Krishtit. Kur ishte pes\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb a shtat\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb vje\u00e7, humbi baban\u00eb dhe la pas vendlindjen. Ai shkoi te nj\u00eb prift i devotsh\u00ebm dhe m\u00ebsoi prej tij m\u00ebsimet e para t\u00eb jet\u00ebs shpirt\u00ebrore. M\u00eb pas mb\u00ebrriti n\u00eb manastirin e Ptelidit t\u00eb Hyjlind\u00ebses, ku me g\u00ebzim t\u00eb madh u b\u00eb murg. M\u00eb von\u00eb ai zbriti n\u00eb Kostandinopoj\u00eb dhe u lidh ngusht\u00eb me Mitropolitin e Tiberiad\u00ebs. Ai iu n\u00ebnshtrua me gjith\u00eb zem\u00ebr dhe e ndoqi kur plaku i tij u kthye n\u00eb dioqez\u00ebn e tij. S\u00eb bashku ata lundruan p\u00ebr n\u00eb Patmos p\u00ebr t\u00eb adhuruar n\u00eb manastirin e Agios Ioannou Teologut. Q\u00eb andej Leontios u nis p\u00ebr n\u00eb Qipro, por dashuria e Per\u00ebndis\u00eb e ktheu n\u00eb ishullin e Zbules\u00ebs. N\u00eb Patmos, Leontios gjeti nj\u00eb udh\u00ebrr\u00ebfyes shpirt\u00ebror, abatin Theoktistos, nj\u00eb njeri i sprovuar shpirt\u00ebrisht dhe shum\u00eb i ditur p\u00ebr rrug\u00ebn e vetmuar. Pran\u00eb tij m\u00ebsoi bindjen dhe err\u00ebsir\u00ebn dhe u b\u00eb shembull i dashuris\u00eb v\u00ebllaz\u00ebrore dhe i p\u00ebrul\u00ebsis\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb gjith\u00eb shoq\u00ebrin\u00eb. Kur plaku Theoktistos e zuri gjumi, murgjit e zgjodh\u00ebn at\u00eb si pasardh\u00ebs t\u00eb tij me vendim unanim dhe pa asnj\u00eb kund\u00ebrshtim. K\u00ebshtu igumeni i ri mori p\u00ebrsip\u00ebr barr\u00ebn e kujdesit p\u00ebr v\u00ebllaz\u00ebrin\u00eb dhe nevojat materiale t\u00eb manastirit. P\u00ebr k\u00ebt\u00eb q\u00ebllim ai vizitonte shpesh ishullin e Kret\u00ebs, ku ishte vendosur manastiri. Aty ndodhej manastiri i Sh\u00ebn Apostullit dhe Joani Ungjilltarit, brenda kufijve t\u00eb qytetit antik t\u00eb Aptera. Meto\u00e7i ndodhej mbi kalan\u00eb turke t\u00eb Isdezinit, n\u00eb zon\u00ebn q\u00eb sot quhet Kalami. Ky manastir at\u00ebher\u00eb ishte pjes\u00eb e manastirit t\u00eb Patmos dhe mb\u00ebshteti financiarisht baballar\u00ebt e ishullit. Leonti punoi me men\u00e7uri, duke dalluar nevojat e v\u00ebllaz\u00ebris\u00eb dhe k\u00ebrkesat e koh\u00ebs. Kudo ai la nj\u00eb ndjenj\u00eb but\u00ebsie dhe njer\u00ebzit njoh\u00ebn n\u00eb personin e tij nj\u00eb njeri t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00eb t\u00eb Per\u00ebndis\u00eb me virtyt t\u00eb rrall\u00eb. P\u00ebr pun\u00ebt e manastirit, Sh\u00ebn Leontios udh\u00ebtoi p\u00ebrs\u00ebri n\u00eb Kostandinopoj\u00eb dhe u paraqit n\u00eb pallatet e Vasilevous\u00ebs. Atje ai fitoi menj\u00ebher\u00eb respektin dhe vler\u00ebsimin e perandorit Manuel Komneni, i cili mbret\u00ebroi n\u00eb dekadat para vdekjes s\u00eb tij. Perandori admiroi maturin\u00eb dhe virtytin e murgut dhe sugjeroi q\u00eb ai t\u00eb merrte fronin ipeshkvnor. Ai i ofroi atij nj\u00eb peshkopat\u00eb n\u00eb Rusi ose Qipro, por Leonti nuk pranoi nga p\u00ebrul\u00ebsia e sinqert\u00eb. Por kur iu ofrua froni i shenjt\u00ebruar i Jeruzalemit, ai nuk mundi ta refuzonte thirrjen e Per\u00ebndis\u00eb. K\u00ebshtu ai u ngjit n\u00eb fronin patriarkal t\u00eb kish\u00ebs sioniste, n\u00eb nj\u00eb koh\u00eb kur Sh\u00ebn Poli po sprovohej nga dominimi i latin\u00ebve. Patriarku i ri e kulloti kopen\u00eb e tij me guxim, duke m\u00ebsuar besimin dhe duke forcuar besimtar\u00ebt n\u00eb mes t\u00eb v\u00ebshtir\u00ebsive. Ai nuk kishte frik\u00eb t\u00eb kontrollonte t\u00eb fuqishmit e tok\u00ebs, kur e v\u00ebrteta e Kish\u00ebs k\u00ebrkonte nj\u00eb z\u00eb t\u00eb guximsh\u00ebm dhe t\u00eb ndersh\u00ebm. Kjo paturp\u00ebsi i kushtoi shtrenjt\u00eb, sepse u nda me perandorin e ri Androniku Komnenin, i cili kishte hipur n\u00eb fronin e perandoris\u00eb. Perandori Androniku nuk i duroi dot kontrollet e patriarkut dhe urdh\u00ebroi d\u00ebbimin e tij nga froni i Jeruzalemit. Sh\u00ebn Leontios i duroi vuajtjet me trim\u00ebri, duke mos u dridhur nga vuajtjet e m\u00ebrgimit dhe izolimit. Fjeti i qet\u00eb n\u00eb pleq\u00ebri, m\u00eb kat\u00ebrmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb maj t\u00eb vitit nj\u00ebmij\u00eb e nj\u00ebqind e n\u00ebnt\u00ebdhjet\u00eb pas Krishtit. Kujtimi i tij p\u00ebrkujtohet \u00e7do vit n\u00eb Patmos dhe n\u00eb Jeruzalem n\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjt\u00ebn dit\u00eb, me nderim dhe nderim t\u00eb ve\u00e7ant\u00eb.
