Nj\u00eb i ri me emrin Mateu, i shtyr\u00eb nga zelli dhe padurimi, theu kapakun dhe pa p\u00ebrmbajtjen e mrekullueshme t\u00eb sarkofagut. Epoka ishte e trazuar dhe Perandoria Bizantine po kalonte periudha t\u00eb v\u00ebshtira n\u00eb shekullin e nj\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb pas Krishtit. Turqit po i jepnin fund ndikimit t\u00eb Perandoris\u00eb n\u00eb Azin\u00eb e Vog\u00ebl dhe po shkat\u00ebrronin qytete, fshatra dhe vende t\u00eb shenjta. Ata vran\u00eb banor\u00ebt dhe e shoq\u00ebruan dhun\u00ebn e tyre me p\u00ebrdhosje t\u00eb tempujve, relikeve t\u00eb shenjta, ikonave dhe dor\u00ebshkrimeve. Mysliman\u00ebt donin t\u00eb shkat\u00ebrronin edhe lipsanin e Sh\u00ebn Nikoll\u00ebs, nderi i t\u00eb cilit ishte p\u00ebrhapur n\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00eb bot\u00ebn e krishter\u00eb. Nderimi p\u00ebr hierarkun e madh ishte i rr\u00ebnjosur thell\u00eb n\u00eb Lindje dhe n\u00eb Per\u00ebndim. Besimtar\u00ebt e konsideronin Shenjtorin mbrojt\u00ebsin e marinar\u00ebve, ndihm\u00ebsin e t\u00eb varf\u00ebrve dhe mbrojt\u00ebsin e shpejt\u00eb t\u00eb atyre q\u00eb e th\u00ebrrisnin me lot. K\u00ebrc\u00ebnimi p\u00ebr tabernakullin e shenjt\u00eb krijoi ankth te t\u00eb krishter\u00ebt e Lindjes dhe Per\u00ebndimit. M\u00eb par\u00eb, n\u00eb vitin shtat\u00ebqind e n\u00ebnt\u00ebdhjet\u00eb e dy pas Krishtit, kalifi Arun al-Rashid e kishte d\u00ebrguar Humaidin me nj\u00eb flot\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb pla\u00e7kitur Rodosin. Pasi shkretoi at\u00eb ishull, Humaid u drejtua p\u00ebr n\u00eb Myra n\u00eb Lycia me synimin p\u00ebr t\u00eb kapur varrin e Sh\u00ebn Nikoll\u00ebs. Por n\u00eb vend t\u00eb varrit t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb, ai hapi nj\u00eb tjet\u00ebr q\u00eb ndodhej pran\u00eb kript\u00ebs s\u00eb hierarkut. Midis t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve t\u00eb Italis\u00eb jetonin shum\u00eb grek\u00eb q\u00eb e nderonin me ngroht\u00ebsi Sh\u00ebn Nikoll\u00ebn. Banor\u00ebt e qytetit t\u00eb Barit, i vendosur n\u00eb brigjet e detit Adriatik, vendos\u00ebn t\u00eb shp\u00ebtojn\u00eb \u00e7adr\u00ebn e shenjt\u00eb t\u00eb shenjtit mbrojt\u00ebs. N\u00eb vitin nj\u00eb mij\u00eb e tet\u00ebdhjet\u00eb e shtat\u00eb pas Krishtit, tregtar\u00eb nga Bari dhe Venediku udh\u00ebtuan p\u00ebr n\u00eb Antioki p\u00ebr q\u00ebllime tregtare. T\u00eb dy grupet menduan t\u00eb merrnin lipsanin e Sh\u00ebn Nikoll\u00ebs dhe ta \u00e7onin n\u00eb Itali n\u00eb rrug\u00ebn e kthimit. Njer\u00ebzit e Barit udh\u00ebzuan venedikasit q\u00eb t&#x27;i zbarkonin ata s\u00eb pari n\u00eb bregdetin Lycian t\u00eb Myra. N\u00eb fillim d\u00ebrguan dy burra si zbulues, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt u kthyen me lajmin se qyteti ishte i qet\u00eb. Brenda tempullit ku prehej lipsani i lavdish\u00ebm ata takuan vet\u00ebm kat\u00ebr murgj q\u00eb ruanin vendin. Ky tregim u dha guxim burrave t\u00eb Barit, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt pan\u00eb n\u00eb shfaqje nj\u00eb miratim dhe nj\u00eb mesazh nga vet\u00eb Shenjtori. P\u00ebr t\u00eb leht\u00ebsuar nd\u00ebrmarrjen e tyre, ata ua zbuluan murgjve q\u00ebllimin e tyre dhe u ofruan treqind monedha ari. Rojet refuzuan parat\u00eb dhe donin t\u00eb paralajm\u00ebronin banor\u00ebt p\u00ebr rrezikun q\u00eb i kanosej qytetit.
