Sh\u00ebn Monica ishte n\u00ebna e Sh\u00ebn Agustinit dhe lindi rreth treqind e tridhjet\u00eb e dy pas Krishtit n\u00eb Tagasti, Afrika e Veriut. Megjithat\u00eb, Monika kishte nj\u00eb shqet\u00ebsim t\u00eb ri t\u00eb madh, pasi djali i saj i madh, Agustini, jetonte n\u00eb Kartagjen\u00eb nj\u00eb jet\u00eb t\u00eb trazuar dhe larg Krishtit. Kur Agustini u nis p\u00ebr t\u00eb dh\u00ebn\u00eb m\u00ebsim n\u00eb Rom\u00eb, rreth treqind e tet\u00ebdhjet\u00eb e tre pas Krishtit, Sh\u00ebn e ndoqi me t\u00eb nj\u00ebjtin kujdes t\u00eb pand\u00ebrprer\u00eb. Pak m\u00eb von\u00eb djali i saj mori nj\u00eb takim n\u00eb Milano, ku u takua me Sh\u00ebn Ambrozin dhe u magjeps thell\u00eb nga predikimet e tij t\u00eb frym\u00ebzuara hyjnore. Peshkopi Ambrozi e vler\u00ebsonte shum\u00eb Monik\u00ebn dhe shpesh e uronte Agustinin q\u00eb kishte nj\u00eb n\u00ebn\u00eb kaq t\u00eb virtytshme dhe t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb. Nj\u00eb dit\u00eb Agustini po lexonte Testamentin e Ri n\u00eb nj\u00eb kopsht dhe arriti n\u00eb fragmentin e njohur n\u00eb letr\u00ebn drejtuar Romak\u00ebve. Atje ai vendosi t\u00eb hiqte p\u00ebrgjithmon\u00eb veprat e err\u00ebsir\u00ebs dhe t\u00eb vishej me Zotin Jisu Krisht.
