Arriani e urdh\u00ebroi q\u00eb t&#x27;i dor\u00ebzonte librat e shenjt\u00eb n\u00eb zjarr, por ai refuzoi me guxim. Pastaj tirani vuri shufra hekuri t\u00eb ndezur n\u00eb vesh\u00ebt e Martirit dhe beb\u00ebzat e tij ran\u00eb p\u00ebrtok\u00eb. Pavar\u00ebsisht dhimbjes s\u00eb tmerrshme, Sh\u00ebn fal\u00ebnderoi Zotin p\u00ebr nderin e martirizimit dhe ata q\u00eb e torturuan iu lut\u00ebn prefektit t\u00eb ndalonte. M\u00eb pas Arriani mendoi t\u00eb p\u00ebrdorte dashurin\u00eb si arm\u00eb dhe urdh\u00ebroi t\u00eb sillnin Maur\u00ebn e re. Ai i k\u00ebrkoi asaj t\u00eb zbukurohej dhe t\u00eb bindte t\u00eb shoqin, duke i premtuar ar, argjend dhe dhurata t\u00eb pasura. E reja n\u00eb fillim shkoi e trishtuar dhe e shqet\u00ebsuar, por Timoteu i foli me aq men\u00e7uri saq\u00eb zemra e saj u ndri\u00e7ua nga hiri i Per\u00ebndis\u00eb. Arriani u t\u00ebrbua dhe urdh\u00ebroi t&#x27;i shkuleshin flok\u00ebt e kok\u00ebs dhe t&#x27;i prisnin gishtat. Mavra fal\u00ebnderoi gjyqtarin e saj duke th\u00ebn\u00eb se k\u00ebshtu pastrohet nga stolit\u00eb e kota t\u00eb rinis\u00eb s\u00eb saj. M\u00eb pas ajo u zhyt n\u00eb nj\u00eb kazan me uj\u00eb t\u00eb val\u00eb, por e reja nuk u d\u00ebmtua nga zjarri dhe nxeht\u00ebsia. Prefekti dyshoi p\u00ebr mashtrim dhe u afrua p\u00ebr t\u00eb kontrolluar vet\u00eb temperatur\u00ebn e ujit. Kur Mavra i derdhi pak uj\u00eb n\u00eb dor\u00eb, ajo u dogj menj\u00ebher\u00eb dhe l\u00ebkura u tret nga dhimbja e fort\u00eb. Megjith\u00eb mrekullin\u00eb e dukshme, shpirti i tiranit mbeti mizor dhe k\u00ebrkonte tortura t\u00eb reja. Ai urdh\u00ebroi t\u00eb sillnin llamba t\u00eb mbushura me squfur dhe katran dhe filluan t\u00eb digjnin trupin e Sh\u00ebnsit. Njer\u00ebzit p\u00ebrreth ishin t\u00eb indinjuar dhe i k\u00ebrkuan prefektit t\u00eb ndalonte abuzimin me t\u00eb ren\u00eb e pafajshme. Por Mavra iu drejtua njer\u00ebzve dhe u tha atyre se ajo nuk ka nevoj\u00eb p\u00ebr mbrojtje njer\u00ebzore, sepse ajo ka mbrojt\u00ebsin e saj vet\u00eb Zotin. At\u00ebher\u00eb Arriani urdh\u00ebroi q\u00eb t\u00eb dy burrat t\u00eb kryq\u00ebzoheshin n\u00eb kryqe, p\u00ebrball\u00eb nj\u00ebri-tjetrit. Ata q\u00ebndruan n\u00eb shtyll\u00ebn e tortur\u00ebs p\u00ebr n\u00ebnt\u00eb dit\u00eb t\u00eb t\u00ebra, duke inkurajuar nj\u00ebri-tjetrin dhe duke iu lutur Zotit pa pushim. I ligu iu paraqit Mavr\u00ebs si nj\u00eb engj\u00ebll, duke mbajtur nj\u00eb got\u00eb me mjalt\u00eb dhe qum\u00ebsht p\u00ebr ta tunduar.
