Edhe pse e dinte q\u00eb e priste burgu dhe vdekja, ai u paraqit n\u00eb gjykat\u00eb, pa u p\u00ebrpjekur t\u00eb fshihej. Sh\u00ebn Llazari lindi nga prind\u00ebr t\u00eb devotsh\u00ebm dhe t\u00eb per\u00ebndish\u00ebm n\u00eb vitin 1774, n\u00eb nj\u00eb familje modeste t\u00eb tok\u00ebs bullgare. Si f\u00ebmij\u00eb u largua nga vendlindja dhe mb\u00ebrriti n\u00eb Soma t\u00eb Azis\u00eb s\u00eb Vog\u00ebl, af\u00ebr Pergamit, ku punoi si bari. Nj\u00eb dit\u00eb, nd\u00ebrsa po pushonte n\u00eb livadhe, e zuri gjumi pran\u00eb kopes\u00eb s\u00eb tij. N\u00eb at\u00eb koh\u00eb po kalonte nj\u00eb grua muslimane, e cila u sulmua nga qeni i bariut dhe i grisi pak nga fustani. Llazari u zgjua nga lehja dhe vrapoi menj\u00ebher\u00eb p\u00ebr ta shp\u00ebtuar, pa u l\u00ebnduar aspak. Por gruaja u zem\u00ebrua dhe u kthye n\u00eb sht\u00ebpi duke e g\u00ebnjyer burrin e saj. Ajo pohoi se nj\u00eb bari i krishter\u00eb ishte p\u00ebrpjekur ta posht\u00ebronte n\u00eb fusha. Burri i t\u00ebrbuar doli p\u00ebr t\u00eb k\u00ebrkuar Llazarin dhe p\u00ebr pak sa nuk e rrahu p\u00ebr vdekje nj\u00eb burr\u00eb tjet\u00ebr t\u00eb panjohur. P\u00ebr t\u00eb mbuluar gabimin e tij t\u00eb r\u00ebnd\u00eb, burri d\u00ebrgoi t\u00eb af\u00ebrmit e gruas s\u00eb tij te gjyqtari turk. Aty ata akuzuan bariun e pafajsh\u00ebm p\u00ebr tentativ\u00eb p\u00ebrdhunimi dhe k\u00ebrkuan d\u00ebnim t\u00eb r\u00ebnd\u00eb ndaj tij. Llazari dinte gjith\u00e7ka q\u00eb po p\u00ebrgatitej, por nuk pranoi t\u00eb largohej ose t\u00eb k\u00ebrkonte vend p\u00ebr t&#x27;u fshehur n\u00eb fshatrat e huaja. Ai besonte se ikja e tij do ta paraqiste si fajtor, nd\u00ebrsa nd\u00ebrgjegjja e tij ishte plot\u00ebsisht e past\u00ebr para Zotit. K\u00ebshtu, m\u00eb 7 prill 1822, ai u soll n\u00eb gjykat\u00eb dhe u fut menj\u00ebher\u00eb n\u00eb burg. Familjar\u00ebt e gruas k\u00ebmb\u00ebngul\u00ebn q\u00eb i riu t\u00eb konvertohej ose t\u00eb vritej p\u00ebr turpin q\u00eb u kishte shkaktuar. Ata i ofruan ag\u00ebs nj\u00eb mij\u00eb groshi n\u00ebse ai mund ta kthente n\u00eb Muhamedaniz\u00ebm brenda dit\u00ebve t\u00eb ardhshme. Por n\u00ebse martiri refuzoi t\u00eb hiqte dor\u00eb nga Krishti, at\u00ebher\u00eb ai patjet\u00ebr duhet t\u00eb d\u00ebnohej me vdekje. T\u00eb krishter\u00ebt ortodoks\u00eb e vizituan p\u00ebr t&#x27;i dh\u00ebn\u00eb kurajo dhe mb\u00ebshtetje shpirt\u00ebrore. Por ai iu lut q\u00eb t\u00eb largoheshin, q\u00eb edhe ata t\u00eb mos ishin n\u00eb rrezik p\u00ebr shkak t\u00eb tij. Nd\u00ebrsa aga pa nj\u00ebmij\u00eb grosh\u00ebt q\u00eb i rr\u00ebshqisnin nga duart, zem\u00ebrimi iu ndez. Llazari mbeti i pal\u00ebkundur p\u00ebrball\u00eb torturave dhe premtimeve josh\u00ebse p\u00ebr pushtet. P\u00ebr hakmarrje, aga konfiskoi t\u00eb gjith\u00eb kopen\u00eb e shenjtorit, e cila num\u00ebronte dyzet dele. T\u00eb mart\u00ebn e jav\u00ebs Diakinesimo, zoti urdh\u00ebroi tortura t\u00eb reja dhe m\u00eb t\u00eb ashpra kund\u00ebr t\u00eb burgosurit. Torturuesit u deh\u00ebn dhe filluan t\u00eb vendosnin hekura t\u00eb ndezur n\u00eb trupin e d\u00ebshmorit t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb. Pastaj i vendos\u00ebn gur\u00eb t\u00eb r\u00ebnd\u00eb n\u00eb gjoks p\u00ebr t&#x27;i thyer q\u00ebndrueshm\u00ebrin\u00eb. Por Llazari nuk pranoi t\u00eb t\u00ebrhiqej dhe iu lut Zotit q\u00eb t&#x27;i jepte forc\u00eb. Ai iu lut edhe Sh\u00ebn Gjergjit, kujtimi i t\u00eb cilit po afrohej, duke k\u00ebrkuar ndihm\u00ebn e tij. Ekzekutuesit i nxorr\u00ebn gjuh\u00ebn dhe e dogj\u00ebn me nj\u00eb hekur t\u00eb ndezur. Ata dogj\u00ebn gjysm\u00ebn e p\u00ebrparme dhe than\u00eb pjes\u00ebn tjet\u00ebr, duke e l\u00ebn\u00eb shenjtorin t\u00eb paaft\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb folur. M\u00eb pas iu tha me kok\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb treguar n\u00ebse e pranonte konvertimin. Ata gjithashtu vendos\u00ebn nj\u00eb unaz\u00eb hekuri t\u00eb nxeht\u00eb rreth kok\u00ebs s\u00eb tij, e cila i shkaktoi dhimbje torturuese. Me gjith\u00eb torturat e tmerrshme, ai nuk u p\u00ebrkul asnj\u00eb \u00e7ast n\u00eb burg. N\u00eb per\u00ebndim t\u00eb diellit, n\u00eb burg mb\u00ebrriti tregtari Joanii nga Zagora, i cili ishte edhe mjek. Ai e njihte personalisht ag\u00ebn, pasi kujdesej p\u00ebr sh\u00ebndetin e gjith\u00eb sht\u00ebpis\u00eb s\u00eb tij. Joanii iu afrua dritares s\u00eb qelis\u00eb dhe pa Llazarin t\u00eb ulur n\u00eb dysheme. P\u00ebr habin\u00eb e tij t\u00eb madhe ai zbuloi se d\u00ebshmori ishte mir\u00eb dhe madje mund t\u00eb fliste. Si i krishter\u00eb ortodoks, ai e nxiti t\u00eb duronte gjith\u00e7ka p\u00ebr dashurin\u00eb e Krishtit deri n\u00eb fund. Ai i foli n\u00eb turqisht, pasi ai nuk dinte bullgarisht dhe shenjtori nuk kuptonte greqisht. Llazari e siguroi se nuk do t\u00eb p\u00ebrkulej kurr\u00eb para musliman\u00ebve t\u00eb atij qyteti. Ai vet\u00ebm kishte frik\u00eb se torturuesit do t\u00eb lodheshin dhe do t\u00eb ndaleshin, pa e \u00e7uar p\u00ebrfundimisht n\u00eb vdekje. Kur aga m\u00ebsoi se i burgosuri po fliste akoma, u t\u00ebrbua me torturuesit, duke menduar se e kishin mashtruar. Megjithat\u00eb, duke par\u00eb gjurm\u00ebt e martirizimit n\u00eb trupin e Llazarit, ai u bind se ata e kishin kryer misionin e tyre drejt. Ai u p\u00ebrpoq ta bindte edhe nj\u00eb her\u00eb me dhurata, nderime dhe premtime p\u00ebr pasuri. Por shenjtori u p\u00ebrgjigj se ai adhuronte vet\u00ebm nj\u00eb Zot, n\u00eb tre persona, dhe si ortodoks u pag\u00ebzua dhe si ortodoks do t\u00eb vdiste. Aga me t\u00eb d\u00ebgjuar k\u00ebt\u00eb rr\u00ebfim t\u00eb pal\u00ebkundur urdh\u00ebroi menj\u00ebher\u00eb q\u00eb d\u00ebshmori t\u00eb ekzekutohej me varje. Gjat\u00eb rrug\u00ebs p\u00ebr n\u00eb vendin e ekzekutimit, shum\u00eb musliman\u00eb e tallnin at\u00eb p\u00ebr zgjedhjen e tij. Ata e quajt\u00ebn at\u00eb budalla, sepse ai preferoi t\u00eb humbiste jet\u00ebn e tij sesa t\u00eb mohonte Jisu Krishtin. Kur arrit\u00ebn n\u00eb vendin e martirizimit, vet\u00eb shenjtori i vuri lakun n\u00eb qaf\u00eb. Ai q\u00ebndroi me d\u00ebshir\u00eb n\u00eb nj\u00eb shport\u00eb dhe xhelati e t\u00ebrhoqi at\u00eb nga k\u00ebmb\u00ebt. K\u00ebshtu, m\u00eb nj\u00ebzet e tret\u00eb t\u00eb prillit t\u00eb nj\u00eb mij\u00eb e tet\u00ebqind e dy, ai ia dha frym\u00ebn Zotit.
