Tradita thot\u00eb se kjo ikon\u00eb ishte vep\u00ebr e vet\u00eb ungjilltarit Luka dhe e gjith\u00eb historia e Manastirit t\u00eb Spilis\u00eb u nd\u00ebrtua rreth saj. Pran\u00eb fshatit Koumbouriana, n\u00eb nj\u00eb vend t\u00eb thyer dhe t\u00eb eg\u00ebr, spikat Manastiri i Shenjt\u00eb Hyjlind\u00e8s i Spiliotissa, kushtuar Burimit Jet\u00ebdh\u00ebn\u00ebs. \u00cbsht\u00eb nd\u00ebrtuar mbi parvazin e nj\u00eb shk\u00ebmbi, pik\u00ebrisht mbi shpell\u00ebn ku u zbulua ikona e shenjt\u00eb dhe prej nga e mori emrin. Vizitori q\u00eb po afrohet ndjen frik\u00eb dhe marramendje p\u00ebrpara shk\u00ebmbit t\u00eb thepisur q\u00eb hapet posht\u00eb k\u00ebmb\u00ebve t\u00eb tij. N\u00eb fund t\u00eb gryk\u00ebs rrjedh nj\u00eb deg\u00eb e Acheloos, nd\u00ebrsa n\u00eb lindje ngrihen shk\u00ebmbinj t\u00eb paarritsh\u00ebm q\u00eb mbrojn\u00eb manastirin si nj\u00eb k\u00ebshtjell\u00eb natyrore. I gjith\u00eb peizazhi t\u00eb jep ndjesin\u00eb e nj\u00eb strehe t\u00eb fshehur, t\u00eb krijuar nga natyra dhe t\u00eb shenjt\u00ebruar nga prania e Virgj\u00ebresh\u00ebs. Forma e vendit \u00ebsht\u00eb e lidhur pazgjidhshm\u00ebrisht me historin\u00eb e Manastirit. Manastiri \u00ebsht\u00eb i rrethuar nga nj\u00eb mur i fort\u00eb fortifikues q\u00eb i jep pamjen e nj\u00eb fortese n\u00eb shkret\u00ebtir\u00ebn e Agraf\u00ebs. Brenda murit ruhet kisha katolike, kisha madh\u00ebshtore e Zoodochos Pigi, e nd\u00ebrtuar n\u00eb stilin bizantin. Pran\u00eb saj q\u00ebndron nj\u00eb kish\u00ebz e vog\u00ebl kushtuar Fjetjes s\u00eb Virgj\u00ebresh\u00ebs, q\u00eb daton nga shekulli i gjasht\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb. Pikturimi n\u00eb mur i kapel\u00ebs u p\u00ebrfundua nj\u00eb shekull m\u00eb von\u00eb, duke i dh\u00ebn\u00eb hap\u00ebsir\u00ebs nj\u00eb bukuri t\u00eb rrall\u00eb artistike. Nj\u00eb mbishkrim jasht\u00eb Katolikos thot\u00eb se kisha u rind\u00ebrtua n\u00eb prill 1736. Hieromonku Parthenios ndihmoi at\u00ebher\u00eb s\u00eb bashku me prift\u00ebrinjt\u00eb Iona, Gavriil dhe Ananias, duke l\u00ebn\u00eb emrat e tyre t\u00eb gdhendur n\u00eb gur. Ikonostasi i praruar i gdhendur n\u00eb dru i Katolikos u punua nga mjeshtrit Gjergji dhe Joannis, n\u00eb koh\u00ebn e Abati Gavriil Hieromonk, n\u00eb 1779. Ikonografia e ikonostasit \u00ebsht\u00eb b\u00ebr\u00eb nga ikonografi Theodhori nga Vllahia e Madhe, n\u00eb vitin 1737, si\u00e7 d\u00ebshmohet nga nj\u00eb mbishkrim posht\u00eb imazhit despotik t\u00eb Krishtit. K\u00ebshtu Manastiri u b\u00eb n\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjt\u00ebn koh\u00eb nj\u00eb vend lutjeje dhe nj\u00eb thesar arti. Manastiri i Spilis\u00eb ishte jo vet\u00ebm nj\u00eb qend\u00ebr shpirt\u00ebrore, por gjithashtu kontribuoi n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb thelb\u00ebsore n\u00eb Revolucionin e 1821-shit. Gjergj Karaiskakis strehohej shpesh n\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb manastir, p\u00ebr shkak t\u00eb pozit\u00ebs s\u00eb tij t\u00eb fortifikuar n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb natyrale, dhe aty organizonte mbledhje dhe k\u00ebshilla ushtarake. M\u00eb von\u00eb, gjat\u00eb revolucionit agrafian, t\u00eb nxitur nga qeveria greke p\u00ebr \u00e7lirimin e Thesalis\u00eb, Manastiri funksionoi si nj\u00eb seli ushtarake. N\u00eb vitin 1837 aty u vendos Qeveria Revolucionare n\u00ebn Aleksandrin, nd\u00ebrsa mbi Manastir ruhen edhe sot e k\u00ebsaj dite fortifikimet e vjetra. Manastiri feston me nj\u00eb shk\u00eblqim t\u00eb ve\u00e7ant\u00eb dit\u00ebn e pes\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb gushtit, dit\u00ebn e Fjetjes s\u00eb Virgj\u00ebresh\u00ebs Mari, si dhe t\u00eb premten e jav\u00ebs s\u00eb nd\u00ebrmjetme, fest\u00ebn e Pranver\u00ebs Jet\u00ebdh\u00ebn\u00ebse. Gjat\u00eb gjith\u00eb vitit, dhe ve\u00e7an\u00ebrisht n\u00eb muajt e ver\u00ebs, nj\u00eb mori pelegrin\u00ebsh nga \u00e7do cep i Greqis\u00eb ngjiten n\u00eb mal p\u00ebr t\u00eb adhuruar. T\u00eb gjith\u00eb nxitojn\u00eb t\u00eb p\u00ebrqafojn\u00eb ikon\u00ebn e famshme mrekullib\u00ebr\u00ebse t\u00eb Hyjlind\u00ebs Odigetria, p\u00ebr t\u00eb cil\u00ebn tradita thot\u00eb se ishte vep\u00ebr e Luk\u00ebs Ungjilltar.
