Disa dit\u00eb m\u00eb von\u00eb, nj\u00eb derr i eg\u00ebr i madh me vesh\u00eb dhe bisht t\u00eb prer\u00eb hyri n\u00eb shkall\u00ebn e shenjt\u00eb dhe u shtri n\u00eb dysheme, duke sfiduar t\u00eb gjitha p\u00ebrpjekjet p\u00ebr ta larguar. K\u00ebto dy shenja i trondit\u00ebn banor\u00ebt e Mitilin\u00ebs dhe i frik\u00ebsuan p\u00ebr fatin e ishullit t\u00eb tyre. Shenjtori i qart\u00eb Simeoni, i cili n\u00eb at\u00eb koh\u00eb ishte n\u00eb tempull me v\u00ebllain e tij Gjergjin, e qet\u00ebsoi turm\u00ebn me lot n\u00eb sy. Ai u shpjegoi atyre se Zoti nuk do ta shkat\u00ebrroj\u00eb vendin, por p\u00ebr Kish\u00ebn po afrohet nj\u00eb koh\u00eb e v\u00ebshtir\u00eb. Ai profetizoi se s\u00eb shpejti n\u00eb fron do t\u00eb ngjitet mbreti Theomisitos, i cili do t\u00eb rr\u00ebzoj\u00eb ikonat e shenjta dhe do t&#x27;i heq\u00eb tempullit bukurin\u00eb e tij. Sa i p\u00ebrket derrit t\u00eb eg\u00ebr, ai shtoi se ai p\u00ebrfaq\u00ebsonte peshkopin e ardhsh\u00ebm, i cili me hirin e Zotit do t&#x27;i ngjante nj\u00eb derri n\u00eb jet\u00eb dhe mendje. Q\u00eb n\u00eb rinin\u00eb e tij Sh\u00ebn Gjergji e deshi Krishtin dhe mori form\u00ebn e vetmuar n\u00eb p\u00ebrpjekjet asketike. N\u00eb vitet e mbret\u00ebrimit t\u00eb Leonit t\u00eb Izaurit, ai p\u00ebsoi persekutim dhe shqet\u00ebsim nga ikonoklast\u00ebt dhe u b\u00eb rr\u00ebfimtar i besimit. Kur m\u00eb von\u00eb u ngjit\u00ebn n\u00eb fron Konstandini dhe Irena e devotshme, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt rivendos\u00ebn nderin e ikonave t\u00eb shenjta, ai u ngrit n\u00eb fronin e lart\u00eb prift\u00ebror t\u00eb metropolit t\u00eb Mitilin\u00ebs. Prej aty ai u shfaq si nj\u00eb bari i m\u00ebshirsh\u00ebm, i cili ushqeu t\u00eb uriturit me l\u00ebmosh\u00eb t\u00eb pasur dhe hapi zemr\u00ebn e tij p\u00ebr \u00e7do besimtar. Me drit\u00ebn e yllit, delet e arsyeshme t\u00eb Mytilene kuptuan se babai i tyre ishte nisur tashm\u00eb p\u00ebr n\u00eb \u00e7adrat e p\u00ebrjetshme.
