Ky z\u00eb i guximsh\u00ebm e \u00e7oi n\u00eb martirizim, ku e dor\u00ebzoi shpirtin me emrin e Krishtit n\u00eb buz\u00eb. Sh\u00ebn Polikarpi jetoi gjat\u00eb sundimit t\u00eb Maximianit t\u00eb pabes\u00eb dhe vinte nga qyteti i famsh\u00ebm i Aleksandris\u00eb. Ai ishte nj\u00eb i krishter\u00eb plot zell p\u00ebr Zotin, me nj\u00eb zem\u00ebr t\u00eb ndjeshme ndaj dhimbjeve t\u00eb v\u00ebllez\u00ebrve t\u00eb tij n\u00eb besim. \u00c7do dit\u00eb ai shihte rreth tij njer\u00ebz t\u00eb burgosur, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt rr\u00ebfenin me guxim emrin e Zotit mes torturave t\u00eb tmerrshme. Shpirti i tij nuk duronte dot m\u00eb t\u00eb hesht\u00eb p\u00ebrball\u00eb kaq shum\u00eb padrejt\u00ebsive dhe kaq shum\u00eb gjakut t\u00eb pafajsh\u00ebm. Ai ndjeu se e v\u00ebrteta e Krishtit e th\u00ebrriste t\u00eb fliste hapur dhe pa frik\u00eb. Koha ishte e v\u00ebshtir\u00eb p\u00ebr besimtar\u00ebt pasi persekutimi u p\u00ebrhap n\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00eb Egjiptin. Por dashuria e tij p\u00ebr Krishtin ishte m\u00eb e fort\u00eb se \u00e7do k\u00ebrc\u00ebnim dhe kjo dashuri lindi tek ai vendimin p\u00ebr t\u00eb dal\u00eb publikisht kund\u00ebr sundimtarit t\u00eb qytetit. Nj\u00eb dit\u00eb ai pa zotin t\u00eb ulur i qet\u00eb n\u00eb fronin e tij dhe duke par\u00eb masakr\u00ebn, sikur t\u00eb ishte di\u00e7ka e par\u00ebnd\u00ebsishme. Gjaku i t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve i rridhte para syve si uji i lumit, pa u l\u00ebvizur fare. At\u00ebher\u00eb Polikarpi nuk u mbajt m\u00eb, u afrua me guxim dhe q\u00ebndroi drejtp\u00ebrdrejt p\u00ebrball\u00eb zotit. Ajo e qortoi n\u00eb publik me fjal\u00eb plot p\u00ebrbuzje, duke i th\u00ebn\u00eb se e kishte harruar plot\u00ebsisht natyr\u00ebn e tij njer\u00ebzore. Ai e quajti at\u00eb nj\u00eb qen t\u00eb pangopur, i cili i cop\u00ebton me shpata t\u00eb af\u00ebrmit dhe bashkatdhetar\u00ebt e tij si t\u00eb ishin dru. Ai i tha se t\u00eb gjith\u00eb k\u00ebta njer\u00ebz predikojn\u00eb Per\u00ebndin\u00eb e v\u00ebrtet\u00eb dhe ekspozojn\u00eb gabimin e idhujtaris\u00eb. Ai shtoi me guxim se ai vet\u00eb \u00ebsht\u00eb nj\u00eb sh\u00ebrb\u00ebtor i Krishtit, pa pasur frik\u00eb nga pasojat e fjal\u00ebve t\u00eb tij. Zoti u t\u00ebrbua aq shum\u00eb nga ky z\u00eb, sa guxoi ta kontrollonte para gjith\u00eb popullit. Menj\u00ebher\u00eb urdh\u00ebroi q\u00eb trimi rrfimtar t\u00eb arrestohej dhe t\u00eb vihej n\u00eb tortura t\u00eb tmerrshme. K\u00ebshtu Sh\u00ebn e gjeti veten n\u00eb duart e xhelat\u00ebve, gati p\u00ebr t\u00eb dh\u00ebn\u00eb d\u00ebshmin\u00eb e besimit me gjakun e tij. Xhelat\u00ebt i n\u00ebnshtruan torturave t\u00eb shumta e t\u00eb ndryshme, p\u00ebr ta p\u00ebrkulur dhe p\u00ebr ta mohuar Krishtin. Por Sh\u00ebn mbeti nj\u00eb r\u00ebfimtar i pal\u00ebkundur dhe trim n\u00eb mes t\u00eb dhimbjeve t\u00eb tmerrshme, pa u t\u00ebrhequr as p\u00ebr asnj\u00eb \u00e7ast. Besimi i tij ishte i rr\u00ebnjosur thell\u00eb n\u00eb dashurin\u00eb e Zotit dhe asnj\u00eb k\u00ebrc\u00ebnim nuk mund ta tundte at\u00eb. Sa m\u00eb shum\u00eb e torturonin, aq m\u00eb e dukshme b\u00ebhej fuqia e hirit n\u00eb shpirtin e tij. Kur zoti pa se asgj\u00eb nuk mund t\u00eb p\u00ebrkulej nga guximi i D\u00ebshmorit, dha urdhrin e fundit. Ai urdh\u00ebroi atletit trim t\u00eb Krishtit t&#x27;i prisnin kok\u00ebn me shpat\u00eb, q\u00eb m\u00eb n\u00eb fund t&#x27;i shuhej z\u00ebri. Sh\u00ebn Polikarpi e pranoi vendimin me k\u00ebnaq\u00ebsi, sepse e dinte se e priste kurora qiellore. Deri n\u00eb momentin e fundit t\u00eb jet\u00ebs kishte n\u00eb buz\u00eb emrin m\u00eb t\u00eb \u00ebmb\u00ebl t\u00eb Krishtit. K\u00ebshtu ai ia dor\u00ebzoi shpirtin e tij t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb Dh\u00ebndrit t\u00eb tij dhe mori kuror\u00ebn e d\u00ebshmis\u00eb amarantike.
