Sh\u00ebn Maksimi foli me aq zell t\u00eb zjarrt\u00eb p\u00ebr Krishtin, sa sundimtari e nd\u00ebrpreu me nxitim gjyqin, nga frika se turma q\u00eb d\u00ebgjonte do t\u00eb kthehej masivisht n\u00eb besimin e Ungjillit. Ky \u00e7ift i shenjt\u00eb ka jetuar n\u00eb Sinjiduno, kryeqyteti aktual i Serbis\u00eb, gjat\u00eb viteve t\u00eb persekutimit t\u00eb kryer nga perandori Dioklecian kund\u00ebr t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve. Mbik\u00ebqyr\u00ebsi i Galerius nxori nj\u00eb dekret q\u00eb i detyronte t\u00eb gjith\u00eb besimtar\u00ebt t\u00eb ofronin flijime p\u00ebr per\u00ebndit\u00eb pagane. T\u00eb dy burrat refuzuan t\u00eb binden dhe vazhduan t\u00eb jetonin sipas urdh\u00ebrimeve t\u00eb Zotit Jisu Krisht. Sundimtari u ndje i turp\u00ebruar dhe iu drejtua gruas s\u00eb tij, duke shpresuar se ajo do t\u00eb p\u00ebrkulej m\u00eb leht\u00eb se burri i saj. Por Sh\u00ebn Maximi, p\u00ebr habin\u00eb e turm\u00ebs, u tregua po aq e guximshme, n\u00eb mos edhe m\u00eb e fuqishme n\u00eb rr\u00ebfimin e besimit.
