Patriarku i Konstandinopoj\u00ebs Thomai, sapo d\u00ebgjoi ngjarjen e \u00e7uditshme, thirri pran\u00eb tij shikuesin Sh\u00ebn Teodor Sikeoti p\u00ebr t\u00eb zbuluar t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00ebn. Sh\u00ebn Thomas jetoi n\u00eb shekullin e shtat\u00eb pas Krishtit dhe u ngjit n\u00eb fronin patriarkal pas vdekjes s\u00eb paraardh\u00ebsit t\u00eb tij Qirjaku. Q\u00eb n\u00eb mosh\u00eb t\u00eb re ai u shqua p\u00ebr devotshm\u00ebrin\u00eb, maturin\u00eb, modestin\u00eb dhe njohurit\u00eb solide teologjike n\u00eb jet\u00ebn kishtare t\u00eb kryeqytetit. Patriarku Joani Agj\u00ebruesi njohu pik\u00ebrisht k\u00ebto dhurata, i cili e shuguroi dhjak t\u00eb Kish\u00ebs s\u00eb Madhe. M\u00eb von\u00eb, n\u00eb vitet e perandorit Mauritius, atij iu besua sh\u00ebrbimi i r\u00ebnd\u00ebsish\u00ebm i Sakellarit n\u00eb tempullin e Sh\u00ebn Sofis\u00eb. Kur Patriarku Qirjaku ra n\u00eb gjum\u00eb, gjat\u00eb viteve t\u00eb v\u00ebshtira t\u00eb tiranit Phokas, Thomai u ngjit n\u00eb fronin e Kostandinopoj\u00ebs. Ai kulloti me dashuri dhe v\u00ebmendje kopen\u00eb racionale t\u00eb Krishtit, duke u kujdesur pa u lodhur p\u00ebr \u00e7do nevoj\u00eb t\u00eb Kish\u00ebs. Ai nd\u00ebrtoi sht\u00ebpin\u00eb patriarkale pran\u00eb Sh\u00ebn Sofis\u00eb, at\u00eb sht\u00ebpi t\u00eb madhe me tre shtret\u00ebr t\u00eb quajtur nga ai vet\u00eb &quot;Thomaitis&quot;. N\u00eb pjes\u00ebn e poshtme t\u00eb nd\u00ebrtes\u00ebs ai vendosi edhe bibliotek\u00ebn e famshme patriarkale t\u00eb Kish\u00ebs. K\u00ebshtu, kur Osh\u00ebnar Theodhori Syceotis erdhi n\u00eb qytet, Patriarku e pyeti me k\u00ebmb\u00ebngulje se \u00e7far\u00eb do t\u00eb thoshte shenja e tmerrshme e kryqeve q\u00eb tundeshin. Osh\u00ebnar fillimisht refuzoi t\u00eb fliste dhe pretendoi se nuk e dinte k\u00ebt\u00eb mister t\u00eb panjohur t\u00eb Zotit. At\u00ebher\u00eb Sh\u00ebn Thomai ra n\u00eb k\u00ebmb\u00ebt e plakut dhe me p\u00ebrul\u00ebsin\u00eb e tij t\u00eb thell\u00eb e bindi t&#x27;i zbulonte t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00ebn. Osh\u00ebnar Theodhori zbuloi se shenja parashikon shum\u00eb fatkeq\u00ebsi dhe persekutime p\u00ebr Kish\u00ebn dhe mbret\u00ebrin\u00eb romake. Ai tha se nga jasht\u00eb do t\u00eb vinte nj\u00eb pushtim i r\u00ebnd\u00eb barbar\u00ebsh me rob\u00ebri, therje dhe shkretim krahina t\u00eb t\u00ebra. Ai shtoi se brenda shtetit do t\u00eb shp\u00ebrthej\u00eb nj\u00eb p\u00ebr\u00e7arje n\u00eb besim dhe vet\u00eb t\u00eb krishter\u00ebt do t\u00eb persekutojn\u00eb nj\u00ebri-tjetrin me urrejtje. Patriarku d\u00ebgjoi i tmerruar fjal\u00ebt e plakut dhe ndjeu zemr\u00ebn e tij t\u00eb r\u00ebnduar nga nj\u00eb dhimbje e padurueshme. M\u00eb pas ai iu lut t\u00eb Shenjtit q\u00eb t&#x27;i k\u00ebrkonte Zotit t&#x27;i merrte shpirtin p\u00ebrpara se k\u00ebto ngjarje t\u00eb tmerrshme t\u00eb zbuloheshin n\u00eb histori. Pastori nuk duroi t\u00eb shihte me syt\u00eb e tij kaq shum\u00eb plag\u00eb n\u00eb trupin e Kish\u00ebs. Ai k\u00ebmb\u00ebnguli disa her\u00eb me lot, derisa Osh\u00ebnar iu n\u00ebnshtrua lutjes s\u00eb tij t\u00eb zjarrt\u00eb. Osh\u00ebnar Theodhori, megjith\u00eb refuzimin e tij fillestar, iu n\u00ebnshtrua vullnetit t\u00eb hierarkut t\u00eb p\u00ebrulur dhe iu lut Zotit. Ai madje i d\u00ebrgoi nj\u00eb mesazh Patriarkut dhe e pyeti n\u00ebse duhej t\u00eb vinte tek ai apo do t\u00eb takoheshin para Zotit. Sh\u00ebn Thomai u p\u00ebrgjigj p\u00ebrmes lajm\u00ebtarit se ky premtim i takimit n\u00eb mbret\u00ebrin\u00eb e qiejve i mjaftonte. Ai nuk donte t\u00eb prishte qet\u00ebsin\u00eb dhe heshtjen e shenjtorit dhe k\u00ebshtu u p\u00ebrgatit n\u00eb paqe p\u00ebr largimin e tij. N\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjt\u00ebn dit\u00eb, pak para per\u00ebndimit t\u00eb diellit, ai ia dor\u00ebzoi me g\u00ebzim shpirtin Zotit. Ai e kulloti Kish\u00ebn e Krishtit p\u00ebr tre vjet e dy muaj, duke luftuar vazhdimisht p\u00ebr besimin e drejt\u00eb. Ai i sh\u00ebrbeu t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00ebs me p\u00ebrkushtim, e nderoi v\u00ebrtet Krishtin dhe i rezistoi me vrull m\u00ebsimeve heretike t\u00eb koh\u00ebs s\u00eb tij. Ai u pasua n\u00eb fron nga dhjaku i Kish\u00ebs s\u00eb Madhe, Sergji, i cili n\u00eb fillim dukej se ishte ortodoks. M\u00eb von\u00eb, megjithat\u00eb, ai devijoi tmerr\u00ebsisht dhe u b\u00eb udh\u00ebheq\u00ebsi i sektit t\u00eb monotelit\u00ebve, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt gabimisht m\u00ebsuan nj\u00eb vullnet n\u00eb Krishtin. K\u00ebshtu filluan vitet e hidhura t\u00eb p\u00ebr\u00e7arjes, konfuzionit dhe persekutimeve t\u00eb ashpra p\u00ebr Kish\u00ebn. Me hirin e Zotit, p\u00ebr shkak t\u00eb moris\u00eb s\u00eb herezive, shp\u00ebrtheu nj\u00eb luft\u00eb e r\u00ebnd\u00eb me Persian\u00ebt. Provincat greke u pla\u00e7kit\u00ebn me zjarr dhe hekur, dhe t\u00eb krishter\u00eb t\u00eb panum\u00ebrt u \u00e7uan n\u00eb rob\u00ebri dhe vdekje. Qyteti i shenjt\u00eb i Jeruzalemit ra n\u00eb duart e armiqve dhe Druri i Shenjt\u00eb i Kryqit u \u00e7ua si pla\u00e7k\u00eb n\u00eb Persi. K\u00ebshtu t\u00eb gjitha fatkeq\u00ebsit\u00eb e parashikuara nga mrekullia e kryqeve t\u00eb l\u00ebkundur n\u00eb Gali u p\u00ebrmbush\u00ebn sakt\u00ebsisht. K\u00ebshtu u realizuan edhe fjal\u00ebt profetike t\u00eb Sh\u00ebn Teodorit t\u00eb Sikeotisit drejtuar Patriarkut Thoma. Sh\u00ebn Thomai preferoi t\u00eb largohej nga kjo jet\u00eb sesa t\u00eb shihte me syt\u00eb e tij plag\u00eb t\u00eb tilla. K\u00ebshtu ai mori nga Zoti gjumin e bekuar q\u00eb e k\u00ebrkoi me lot, para se t\u00eb shp\u00ebrthente ajo koh\u00eb e tmerrshme. E zuri gjumi i qet\u00eb m\u00eb nj\u00ebzet mars t\u00eb vitit t\u00eb gjasht\u00ebqind e dhjet\u00eb dhe u varros me nderime dy dit\u00eb m\u00eb von\u00eb. Dor\u00ebshkrimet e hershme vendos\u00ebn kujtimin e tij n\u00eb data t\u00eb ndryshme n\u00eb shkurt dhe mars, n\u00eb var\u00ebsi t\u00eb traditave lokale.
