Nikandros, edhe pse i tmerruar nga torturat e tmerrshme, e mb\u00ebshtolli lipsanin e ndersh\u00ebm me \u00e7ar\u00e7af\u00eb dhe i varrosi n\u00eb nj\u00eb vend t\u00eb fsheht\u00eb. Ai jetoi n\u00eb Egjipt gjat\u00eb sundimit t\u00eb perandorit Dioklecian dhe ushtroi me p\u00ebrkushtim profesionin e mjekut. Por besimi i tij n\u00eb Krishtin e \u00e7oi vazhdimisht drejt burgjeve, ku torturoheshin rr\u00ebfimtar\u00ebt e besimit t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00eb. I vizitoi d\u00ebshmor\u00ebt e lidhur, u sh\u00ebroi me kujdes plag\u00ebt dhe u ofroi ushqimin e nevojsh\u00ebm p\u00ebr t\u00eb duruar. Kur nj\u00ebri prej tyre dor\u00ebzoi shpirtin, varrimin e trupit e mori vet\u00eb mjeku i nderuar. Ai gjeti n\u00eb ato martirizime nj\u00eb imazh besimi t\u00eb gjall\u00eb, q\u00eb e mbushte me admirim dhe emocion t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb. Me lot n\u00eb sy shoq\u00ebroi rr\u00ebfimtar\u00ebt e fjetur dhe u b\u00ebri nderimin e fundit. Ai pa se si martir\u00ebt dhan\u00eb gjakun e tyre p\u00ebr Krishtin dhe ndjeu nj\u00eb detyr\u00eb t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb nderuar trupat e tyre. Jetoi me frik\u00eb, por edhe me dashuri t\u00eb pashuar p\u00ebr v\u00ebllez\u00ebrit. Nj\u00eb dit\u00eb Nikander pa t\u00eb shp\u00ebrndara n\u00eb fush\u00eb lipsane e shum\u00eb martir\u00ebve t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb, t\u00eb l\u00ebn\u00eb n\u00eb furin\u00eb e bishave t\u00eb egra. Por ai nuk guxoi t&#x27;u afrohej n\u00eb drit\u00ebn e diellit, sepse kishte frik\u00eb se mos e arrestonin p\u00ebrndjek\u00ebsit e besimit. Ai vet\u00eb e njohu dob\u00ebsin\u00eb e tij fizike dhe u tmerrua nga ideja e torturave t\u00eb tmerrshme q\u00eb duruan d\u00ebshmor\u00ebt. Ai nuk kishte marr\u00eb ende p\u00ebrforcimin qiellor q\u00eb do ta b\u00ebnte t\u00eb patrembur para tiran\u00ebve. K\u00ebshtu ai priti me durim q\u00eb t\u00eb binte nata dhe t\u00eb mbulonte \u00e7do l\u00ebvizje t\u00eb tij me err\u00ebsir\u00eb. Kur u shfaq\u00ebn yjet n\u00eb qiell, u nis drejt vendit ku shtrihej lipsani i ndersh\u00ebm i sportist\u00ebve. Ai i ngriti trupat nj\u00eb nga nj\u00eb mbi supe dhe i \u00e7oi n\u00eb nj\u00eb vend t\u00eb fshehur dhe t\u00eb sigurt. Ai i mb\u00ebshtolli me respekt n\u00eb \u00e7ar\u00e7af\u00eb t\u00eb past\u00ebr dhe i dor\u00ebzoi n\u00eb tok\u00eb me lutje dhe ngaz\u00ebllim. Por nj\u00eb pagan e shikonte nd\u00ebrsa po kryente k\u00ebt\u00eb vep\u00ebr t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb dashurie. Ai nxitoi menj\u00ebher\u00eb te sundimtari lokal dhe denoncoi mjekun e devotsh\u00ebm p\u00ebr veprimin e tij t\u00eb krishter\u00eb. K\u00ebshtu u zbulua publikisht ministria e tij sekrete dhe Nikander u gjend n\u00eb duart e persekutor\u00ebve. Ushtar\u00ebt e arrestuan Nikanderin dhe e soll\u00ebn para gjykat\u00ebsit mizor p\u00ebr t\u00eb k\u00ebrkuar falje. Ai e b\u00ebri menj\u00ebher\u00eb torturat e tmerrshme, duke shpresuar ta p\u00ebrkul\u00eb dhe ta detyronte t\u00eb mohonte Krishtin. Por doktori, i cili dikur kishte qen\u00eb i frik\u00ebsuar nga ideja e martirizimit, tani q\u00ebndronte trim dhe i lumtur. Hiri hyjnor e kishte vizituar dhe e kishte shnd\u00ebrruar n\u00eb nj\u00eb rr\u00ebfimtar t\u00eb paepur t\u00eb besimit. Gjith\u00e7ka q\u00eb m\u00eb par\u00eb kishte frik\u00eb, tani e duroi me paqe mendore dhe g\u00ebzim qiellor. Tirani pa para tij nj\u00eb njeri t\u00eb fort\u00eb si nj\u00eb shtyll\u00eb e pal\u00ebvizshme dhe t\u00eb pal\u00ebvizshme si nj\u00eb mal.
