Para syve t\u00eb t\u00eb atit, Fotinit t\u00eb ri iu pre koka dhe n\u00eb vend q\u00eb t\u00eb p\u00ebrkulej, Maurice u g\u00ebzua p\u00ebr kuror\u00ebn e f\u00ebmij\u00ebs s\u00eb tij. Vet\u00eb perandori Maximian Galerius kishte marr\u00eb p\u00ebrsip\u00ebr t\u00eb b\u00ebnte nj\u00eb xhiro n\u00ebp\u00ebr provincat lindore, duke u flijuar idhujve dhe duke i detyruar t\u00eb gjith\u00eb t\u00eb kthehen n\u00eb gabimin e vjet\u00ebr. K\u00ebshtu, n\u00eb nj\u00eb dit\u00eb solemne, me nj\u00eb turm\u00eb t\u00eb mbledhur, d\u00ebshmor\u00ebt e shenjt\u00eb u \u00e7uan para tij. Maksimiani i kujtoi Maurice-it nderimet dhe pagat q\u00eb kishte marr\u00eb dhe i k\u00ebrkoi t\u00eb jepte nj\u00eb shembull bindjeje ndaj idhujve. Por shenjtori me p\u00ebrbuzje u p\u00ebrgjigj se ai kurr\u00eb nuk pranoi favore nga per\u00ebndit\u00eb e rreme, as nuk do t\u00eb nderonte statuja t\u00eb shurdh\u00ebr dhe t\u00eb pandjeshme. Ai p\u00ebrl\u00ebvdoi vet\u00ebm Per\u00ebndin\u00eb e v\u00ebrtet\u00eb, Krijuesin e qiellit dhe t\u00eb tok\u00ebs dhe nuk pranoi t&#x27;i quante per\u00ebndi demon\u00ebt q\u00eb i \u00e7uan njer\u00ebzit drejt humbjes. Pastaj perandori ve\u00e7oi Maurice dhe iu drejtua shtat\u00ebdhjet\u00eb ushtar\u00ebve me fjal\u00eb t\u00eb \u00ebmbla, duke shpresuar t&#x27;i bindte ata. Por shenjtor\u00ebt u p\u00ebrgjigj\u00ebn se Per\u00ebndia i qiellit do t&#x27;i vesh\u00eb me breza dhe rroba t\u00eb paprishjes, meq\u00eb Satanai ishte duke punuar n\u00eb perandor. Pas nj\u00eb burgimi tre-ditor dhe nj\u00eb lutjeje t\u00eb p\u00ebrbashk\u00ebt p\u00ebr ndri\u00e7im nga Fryma e Shenjt\u00eb, ata u \u00e7uan p\u00ebrs\u00ebri n\u00eb sken\u00ebn e port\u00ebs s\u00eb karroc\u00ebs. N\u00eb mesin e tyre q\u00ebndronte i riu Fotinus, i biri i Maurice n\u00eb mish dhe shpirt, i cili me guxim deklaroi emrin dhe origjin\u00ebn e tij romake. Nj\u00eb mori insektesh i mbuluan shenjtor\u00ebt si nj\u00eb re e dendur dhe ata i thumbonin pa m\u00ebshir\u00eb dit\u00eb e nat\u00eb. D\u00ebshmor\u00ebt ngrit\u00ebn syt\u00eb dhe iu lut\u00ebn Zotit t\u00eb s\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00ebs. P\u00ebr dhjet\u00eb dit\u00eb t\u00eb t\u00ebra e dhjet\u00eb net duruan at\u00eb tortur\u00eb t\u00eb padurueshme, duke iu lutur Zotit q\u00eb t&#x27;i num\u00ebronte me t\u00eb gjith\u00eb shenjtor\u00ebt q\u00eb prej shekujsh kan\u00eb p\u00eblqyer para tij. M\u00eb n\u00eb fund ia dor\u00ebzuan shpirtin Zotit dhe mor\u00ebn kurorat e lavdis\u00eb s\u00eb p\u00ebrjetshme, duke l\u00ebn\u00eb tok\u00ebn p\u00ebr jet\u00ebn e pafund t\u00eb mbret\u00ebris\u00eb. Por Maximianos nuk u vendos as pas vdekjes s\u00eb tyre.
