M\u00eb von\u00eb ai u vesh t\u00ebr\u00ebsisht me nj\u00eb rrob\u00eb l\u00ebkure, duke l\u00ebn\u00eb vet\u00ebm nj\u00eb t\u00eb \u00e7ar\u00eb t\u00eb vog\u00ebl p\u00ebr hund\u00ebn dhe goj\u00ebn dhe u lut n\u00eb k\u00ebmb\u00eb me duart e ngritura drejt qiellit. Vinte nga qyteti i Antiokis\u00eb dhe q\u00eb n\u00eb mosh\u00eb t\u00eb re zgjodhi rrug\u00ebn e nj\u00eb jete t\u00eb qet\u00eb dhe teorike n\u00eb shkret\u00ebtir\u00eb. N\u00eb fillim u mbyll n\u00eb nj\u00eb kasolle t\u00eb thjesht\u00eb dhe iu p\u00ebrkushtua t\u00ebr\u00ebsisht lutjes dhe studimit t\u00eb gj\u00ebrave hyjnore. M\u00eb pas ai u ngjit n\u00eb nj\u00eb mal t\u00eb lart\u00eb, ku ngriti vetes nj\u00eb qeli t\u00eb vog\u00ebl guri p\u00ebr luft\u00ebn e tij asketike. Ai q\u00ebllimisht e b\u00ebri at\u00eb m\u00eb t\u00eb vog\u00ebl se lart\u00ebsia e trupit t\u00eb tij. K\u00ebshtu, Osh\u00ebnar q\u00ebndronte gjithmon\u00eb i p\u00ebrkulur dhe shtrir\u00eb i palosur, duke mos mundur t\u00eb pushonte kurr\u00eb normalisht. Qelia nuk kishte as dritare, as der\u00eb t\u00eb p\u00ebrshtatshme, vet\u00ebm nj\u00eb hyrje t\u00eb ngusht\u00eb. E mbante gjithmon\u00eb t\u00eb mbyllur, p\u00ebr t\u00eb q\u00ebndruar larg syve t\u00eb vizitor\u00ebve dhe kureshtjes s\u00eb bot\u00ebs. N\u00eb vend t\u00eb dritareve, ai kishte hapur disa \u00e7arje t\u00eb gjera n\u00eb mure, q\u00eb drita e dit\u00ebs t\u00eb hynte n\u00eb banes\u00ebn e tij t\u00eb vetmuar. Por nga po k\u00ebto t\u00eb \u00e7ara hynin lirisht shiu dhe era dhe dielli i nxeht\u00eb i ver\u00ebs. Por fama e tij arriti shpejt n\u00eb vesh\u00ebt e peshkopit t\u00eb Antiokis\u00eb, Theodoritos, i cili shqet\u00ebsohej p\u00ebr sh\u00ebndetin e asketit. Peshkopi e vizitoi personalisht dhe iu lut me zell q\u00eb t\u00eb largohej nga ajo qeli e rrezikshme dhe e pash\u00ebndetshme. M\u00eb n\u00eb fund Osh\u00ebnar iu dor\u00ebzua p\u00ebrgj\u00ebrimeve at\u00ebrore t\u00eb prelatit dhe doli nga burgu i tij i ngusht\u00eb n\u00eb bindje. Por q\u00eb nga ai moment ai veshi nj\u00eb rrob\u00eb t\u00eb r\u00ebnd\u00eb prej l\u00ebkure kafsh\u00ebsh t\u00eb qepura. Kjo veshje mbulonte gjith\u00eb trupin e tij nga k\u00ebmb\u00ebt n\u00eb kok\u00eb, duke mos l\u00ebn\u00eb asgj\u00eb t\u00eb zbuluar. Vet\u00ebm rreth hund\u00ebs dhe goj\u00ebs kishte dy t\u00eb \u00e7ara t\u00eb vogla n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb q\u00eb ai t\u00eb merrte frym\u00eb lirisht brenda k\u00ebsaj k\u00ebll\u00ebfi l\u00ebkure. Me nj\u00eb veshje t\u00eb till\u00eb ai nuk kishte mund\u00ebsi t\u00eb ecte ose t\u00eb l\u00ebvizte nga vendi i praktik\u00ebs s\u00eb tij. K\u00ebshtu asketi i bekuar q\u00ebndronte gjithmon\u00eb drejt n\u00eb k\u00ebmb\u00eb, me duart e ngritura drejt qiellit. Ai lavd\u00ebroi Zotin pand\u00ebrprer\u00eb dhe me zem\u00ebr t\u00eb zjarrt\u00eb lutej p\u00ebr shp\u00ebtimin e gjith\u00eb bot\u00ebs. Osh\u00ebnar Varadatos mbeti gjithmon\u00eb i mbyllur n\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb form\u00eb paradoksale dhe mizore t\u00eb izolimit. Por ai nuk e nd\u00ebrmori k\u00ebt\u00eb luft\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb k\u00ebnaqur mishin e tij n\u00eb asnj\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb ose p\u00ebr t\u00eb k\u00ebnaqur kot\u00ebsin\u00eb e tij. E ngriti sepse donte ta detyronte trupin t\u00eb duronte dhimbjet fizike dhe k\u00ebshtu t\u00eb posht\u00ebronte pasionet e tij. Me fjal\u00eb t\u00eb tjera, ai luftoi me pasionet e forta q\u00eb e konsumonin p\u00ebrbrenda dhe me d\u00ebshirat e zjarrta t\u00eb natyr\u00ebs rinore. Hiri i Per\u00ebndis\u00eb e forcoi mrekullisht n\u00eb pun\u00ebn e tij dhe gradualisht e pastroi zemr\u00ebn e tij nga \u00e7do llogaritje e pasionuar. Nd\u00ebrsa virtytet e shenjtorit u b\u00ebn\u00eb t\u00eb njohura, turma njer\u00ebzish t\u00eb t\u00eb gjitha klasave shoq\u00ebrore dhe moshave filluan t\u00eb dynden tek ai. T\u00eb gjith\u00eb k\u00ebrkuan nga ai k\u00ebshilla shpirt\u00ebrore, ngush\u00ebllim n\u00eb pik\u00ebllimet e tyre dhe drit\u00eb mbi problemet e tyre t\u00eb jet\u00ebs. Osh\u00ebnar Varadatos i priti me p\u00ebrul\u00ebsi t\u00eb thell\u00eb dhe i udh\u00ebhoqi me urt\u00ebsi e dashuri n\u00eb rrug\u00ebn e Krishtit. Me fjal\u00ebt e tij ai frym\u00ebzoi respekt p\u00ebr Zotin krijues dhe bindje ndaj urdhrave hyjnore t\u00eb Ungjillit. Njer\u00ebzve q\u00eb u sprovuan nga rrethanat e v\u00ebshtira, ai u dha durim, shpres\u00eb dhe kurajo p\u00ebr t\u00eb vazhduar luft\u00ebn e tyre. Madje, ai mori nga Zoti dhunti t\u00eb shumta dhe t\u00eb rralla shpirt\u00ebrore, t\u00eb cilave u sh\u00ebrbeu gjithmon\u00eb me zem\u00ebr t\u00eb p\u00ebrulur.
