Vet\u00eb babai i saj shkonte dhe k\u00ebrkonte ngush\u00ebllim nga murgu Emerald, duke mos ditur q\u00eb ai po fliste me vajz\u00ebn e tij t\u00eb dashur. Osh\u00ebnare Euphrosyne lindi n\u00eb fillim t\u00eb shekullit t\u00eb pest\u00eb n\u00eb qytetin e famsh\u00ebm t\u00eb Aleksandris\u00eb. Ishte f\u00ebmija i vet\u00ebm i prind\u00ebrve t\u00eb devotsh\u00ebm e t\u00eb pasur, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt e rrit\u00ebn me shum\u00eb kujdes dhe edukim shpirt\u00ebror. Kur vajza e vog\u00ebl mbushi dymb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb vje\u00e7, n\u00ebn\u00ebs s\u00eb saj e zuri gjumi dhe e la f\u00ebmij\u00ebn n\u00eb duart e babait. Pafnutios, nj\u00eb burr\u00eb thell\u00ebsisht besnik dhe me frik\u00eb Per\u00ebndie, mori p\u00ebrsip\u00ebr ta rriste vajz\u00ebn e tij me frik\u00ebn e Zotit. Ai vizitonte nj\u00eb manastir aty pran\u00eb, ku igumeni ishte babai i tij shpirt\u00ebror dhe udh\u00ebrr\u00ebfyes. Aty mori forc\u00eb, k\u00ebshilla dhe bekim p\u00ebr jet\u00ebn e tij dhe p\u00ebr rritjen e f\u00ebmij\u00ebs. Eufrosina e vog\u00ebl u rrit n\u00eb lutje, studim dhe dashuri p\u00ebr Krishtin n\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb mjedis t\u00eb bekuar. Kur Eufrosina mbushi tet\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb vje\u00e7, babai i saj donte ta martonte me nj\u00eb djal\u00eb t\u00eb ri t\u00eb denj\u00eb. K\u00ebshtu ai shkoi n\u00eb manastir p\u00ebr t\u00eb k\u00ebrkuar bekimin e abatit p\u00ebr martes\u00ebn e vajz\u00ebs s\u00eb tij t\u00eb dashur. Plaku foli pak me vajz\u00ebn dhe me dashuri i dha bekimin e tij. Por shpirti i Efrosin\u00ebs ishte tashm\u00eb i rr\u00ebnjosur n\u00eb d\u00ebshir\u00ebn p\u00ebr nj\u00eb jet\u00eb t\u00eb vetmuar dhe t\u00eb qet\u00eb. Nj\u00eb dit\u00eb ajo ua shp\u00ebrndau t\u00eb varf\u00ebrve gjith\u00eb pasurin\u00eb dhe u largua fshehurazi nga sht\u00ebpia e t\u00eb atit. Ai d\u00ebshironte t\u00eb hynte n\u00eb nj\u00eb manastir dhe t&#x27;i p\u00ebrkushtohej vetmis\u00eb dhe lutjes s\u00eb pand\u00ebrprer\u00eb. Por ajo kishte frik\u00eb se babai i saj do ta gjente leht\u00ebsisht n\u00eb nj\u00eb komun\u00eb grash dhe do ta merrte p\u00ebrs\u00ebri. K\u00ebshtu ajo u vesh me rroba burrash dhe shkoi n\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjtin manastir burrash q\u00eb kishte vizituar q\u00eb kur ishte f\u00ebmij\u00eb me t\u00eb atin. Ajo u prezantua me emrin Smaragdos dhe askush nuk e njohu vajz\u00ebn me pamjen mashkullore. Murgjit e pranuan me k\u00ebnaq\u00ebsi n\u00eb v\u00ebllaz\u00ebri dhe shum\u00eb shpejt e admiruan p\u00ebrpjekjet e saj shpirt\u00ebrore dhe sh\u00ebrbes\u00ebn e saj modeste. N\u00eb nj\u00eb qeli t\u00eb vetmuar, Osh\u00ebnare kaloi tridhjet\u00eb e tet\u00eb vjet t\u00eb t\u00ebra me agj\u00ebrim, vigjilje dhe lutje t\u00eb pand\u00ebrprer\u00eb. Ajo arriti p\u00ebrmasa t\u00eb larta t\u00eb p\u00ebrsosm\u00ebris\u00eb shpirt\u00ebrore dhe fama e virtytit t\u00eb saj po p\u00ebrhapej ngadal\u00eb n\u00ebp\u00ebr v\u00ebllaz\u00ebri. Nd\u00ebrkoh\u00eb, Pafnutius u zhyt n\u00eb pik\u00ebllim t\u00eb thell\u00eb p\u00ebr zhdukjen e vajz\u00ebs s\u00eb tij t\u00eb vetme t\u00eb dashur. Ai hapi zemr\u00ebn e tij dhe mori fjal\u00eb besimi dhe shprese, duke mos ditur kurr\u00eb se kush po i fliste. Pak para se t\u00eb binte n\u00eb gjum\u00eb, Osh\u00ebnare i zbuloi babait t\u00eb saj t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00ebn e madhe q\u00eb kishte fshehur p\u00ebr kaq shum\u00eb vite. Ajo k\u00ebmb\u00ebnguli q\u00eb ai vet\u00eb ta p\u00ebrgatiste trupin e saj p\u00ebr varrim. Babai plak e varrosi me lot t\u00eb bij\u00ebn dhe menj\u00ebher\u00eb ua shp\u00ebrndau gjith\u00eb pasurin\u00eb t\u00eb varf\u00ebrve dhe manastirit. Pastaj u b\u00eb murg dhe q\u00ebndroi p\u00ebr dhjet\u00eb vjet n\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjt\u00ebn qeli ku kishte jetuar e bija. Aty e mbylli jet\u00ebn n\u00eb paqe, duke ndjekur shembullin e vajz\u00ebs s\u00eb tij t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb. Me jet\u00ebn e saj, Osh\u00ebnar Efrosynye na kujton fjal\u00ebt e apostullit Pal drejtuar dishepullit t\u00eb tij Titit. Na th\u00ebrret t\u00eb mohojm\u00eb pasionet e k\u00ebsaj bote dhe t\u00eb jetojm\u00eb me maturi, drejt\u00ebsi dhe devotshm\u00ebri n\u00eb bot\u00ebn e sotme. S\u00eb pari, ne duhet t\u00eb hedhim posht\u00eb d\u00ebshirat e k\u00ebsaj epoke t\u00eb kot\u00eb dhe m\u00ebkatare, t\u00eb cilat err\u00ebsojn\u00eb shpirtin dhe largohen nga Zoti. Osh\u00ebnare e kaloi gjith\u00eb rinin\u00eb dhe pjekurin\u00eb e saj n\u00eb qeli, pa k\u00ebrkuar lavdi apo njohje nga njer\u00ebzit. Ajo zgjodhi vepr\u00ebn e fshehur t\u00eb zemr\u00ebs dhe ofert\u00ebn e padukshme p\u00ebr v\u00ebllez\u00ebrit e saj n\u00eb manastir. N\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00ebn e saj ajo tregon se lufta e v\u00ebrtet\u00eb b\u00ebhet n\u00eb heshtje, n\u00eb bindje dhe n\u00eb lutje t\u00eb vazhdueshme.
