Kur ndez\u00ebn zjarrin p\u00ebr ta djegur t\u00eb gjall\u00eb, ajo k\u00ebrkoi nj\u00eb moment t\u00eb lutej dhe u hodh e vetme n\u00eb flak\u00ebt. Sh\u00ebn Apollonia ishte nj\u00eb virgj\u00ebresh\u00eb e moshuar dhe dhjakon\u00eb e Kish\u00ebs s\u00eb Aleksandris\u00eb, e njohur p\u00ebr virtytin dhe p\u00ebrkushtimin e saj ndaj Krishtit. Martirizimin e saj e shp\u00ebtoi Sh\u00ebn Dionisi i Aleksandris\u00eb, i cili p\u00ebrkujtohet m\u00eb 5 tetor, p\u00ebrmes nj\u00eb prej letrave t\u00eb tij t\u00eb r\u00ebnd\u00ebsishme. N\u00eb ato vite Kisha po kalonte koh\u00eb t\u00eb v\u00ebshtira, pasi p\u00ebrndjekja po t\u00ebrbohej me nj\u00eb eg\u00ebrsi t\u00eb papar\u00eb. Kur perandori Decius u ngjit n\u00eb fron, ai filloi sulmin m\u00eb t\u00eb madh ndaj krishterimit q\u00eb perandoria kishte njohur ndonj\u00ebher\u00eb. Ai u b\u00eb sundimtari i par\u00eb q\u00eb b\u00ebri thirrje hapur p\u00ebr shfarosjen e plot\u00eb t\u00eb besimit t\u00eb ri nga i gjith\u00eb territori. Sipas Sh\u00ebn Dionisit, persekutimi shp\u00ebrtheu n\u00eb Aleksandri nj\u00eb vit m\u00eb her\u00ebt se qytetet e tjera t\u00eb perandoris\u00eb. Nj\u00eb zhurm\u00eb e till\u00eb u nxit nga nj\u00eb profet i rrem\u00eb dhe poet i s\u00eb keqes, i cili i kthen njer\u00ebzit kund\u00ebr t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve. Me mb\u00ebshtetjen dhe p\u00eblqimin e autoritetit shtet\u00ebror, pagan\u00ebt filluan nj\u00eb masak\u00ebr masive t\u00eb t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve t\u00eb Aleksandris\u00eb. Ata besuan, n\u00eb konfuzionin e tyre, se po kryenin k\u00ebshtu nj\u00eb akt t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb dhe po nderonin idhujt e tyre t\u00eb rrem\u00eb me k\u00ebt\u00eb ofert\u00eb. Sh\u00ebn Dionisi e quan Apolonin\u00eb nj\u00eb plak\u00eb dhe nj\u00eb virgj\u00ebresh\u00eb t\u00eb shk\u00eblqyer, me respekt t\u00eb thell\u00eb p\u00ebr jet\u00ebn e saj dhe durim. K\u00ebshtu ata e kap\u00ebn nga turma dhe e \u00e7uan me dhun\u00eb n\u00ebp\u00ebr rrug\u00eb, pa asnj\u00eb m\u00ebshir\u00eb p\u00ebr mosh\u00ebn e saj. Filluan ta godasin me furi n\u00eb fytyr\u00eb, derisa i thyen nj\u00eb nga nj\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00eb dh\u00ebmb\u00ebt e goj\u00ebs. Turma m\u00eb pas ngriti nj\u00eb zjarr t\u00eb madh jasht\u00eb mureve t\u00eb qytetit, duke p\u00ebrgatitur nj\u00eb fund t\u00eb tmerrsh\u00ebm. K\u00ebshtu Kisha e nderon edhe sot e k\u00ebsaj dite si nj\u00eb nimf\u00eb t\u00eb Krishtit dhe nj\u00eb rr\u00ebfimtare t\u00eb paepur t\u00eb besimit t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00eb. P\u00ebr shkak t\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00ebs s\u00eb saj t\u00eb ve\u00e7ant\u00eb t\u00eb tortur\u00ebs, ikonografia ka dh\u00ebn\u00eb form\u00ebn e saj n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb t\u00eb ve\u00e7ant\u00eb p\u00ebrgjat\u00eb tradit\u00ebs. Ajo \u00ebsht\u00eb p\u00ebrshkruar shpesh me nj\u00eb dh\u00ebmb ari t\u00eb varur n\u00eb nj\u00eb gjerdan n\u00eb gjoks, si nj\u00eb shenj\u00eb e shenjt\u00eb e martirizimit t\u00eb saj. Her\u00eb t\u00eb tjera ajo shfaqet duke mbajtur nj\u00eb dar\u00eb t\u00eb vog\u00ebl, brenda s\u00eb cil\u00ebs ndodhet nj\u00eb dh\u00ebmb si simbol i dhimbjes.
