N\u00eb qelin\u00eb e par\u00eb, Osh\u00ebnar Joani, nx\u00ebn\u00ebs dhe ide e Varsanoufios, jetoi tet\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb vjet t\u00eb t\u00ebra, derisa e zuri gjumi. Joanii e imitoi m\u00ebsuesin e tij n\u00eb heshtje, n\u00eb p\u00ebrpjekjet asketike dhe n\u00eb \u00e7do virtyt. P\u00ebr shkak se Zoti i dha atij dhurat\u00ebn parashikuese dhe parashikoi t\u00eb ardhmen, besimtar\u00ebt e quajt\u00ebn Profet. Me agj\u00ebrim, heshtje, burg t\u00eb zemr\u00ebs dhe lutje t\u00eb pand\u00ebrprer\u00eb, Varsanufio arriti majat e p\u00ebrul\u00ebsis\u00eb, aft\u00ebsis\u00eb dalluese dhe dashuris\u00eb s\u00eb zjarrt\u00eb p\u00ebr Zotin. Zoti i dhuroi atij dhuntit\u00eb e aft\u00ebsis\u00eb dalluese, largpam\u00ebsis\u00eb dhe mrekullib\u00ebrjes n\u00eb dobi t\u00eb shpirtrave. Me fuqin\u00eb e lutjes s\u00eb tij ai \u00e7liroi shpirtrat e njer\u00ebzve nga barr\u00ebt e m\u00ebkateve t\u00eb tyre. Madje shum\u00eb her\u00eb merrte mbi vete m\u00ebkatet e t\u00eb tjer\u00ebve, sikur t\u00eb ishin t\u00eb tijat. Ai i njihte mir\u00eb disponimet dhe sekretet e zemrave dhe secilit i jepte k\u00ebshilla t\u00eb p\u00ebrshtatshme p\u00ebr gjendjen e tij shpirt\u00ebrore. N\u00eb em\u00ebr t\u00eb Zotit ai ringjalli t\u00eb vdekurit, d\u00ebboi demon\u00ebt dhe sh\u00ebroi s\u00ebmundje q\u00eb mjek\u00ebt mendonin se ishin t\u00eb pash\u00ebrueshme. \u00c7far\u00ebdo q\u00eb ai bekoi mori hirin dhe fuqin\u00eb hyjnore, si nj\u00eb far\u00eb e keqe q\u00eb ia dha nj\u00eb murgu dhe ia kaloi dhimbjen e fort\u00eb t\u00eb kok\u00ebs. Edhe vet\u00ebm emri i Abba Varsanoufios, kur u thirr mend\u00ebrisht nga besimtar\u00ebt, u dha ndihm\u00eb dhe ngush\u00ebllim atyre q\u00eb e shqiptonin. Me ambasadat e Varsanufit, Zoti d\u00ebrgoi nj\u00eb her\u00eb shi mbi tok\u00ebn e etur dhe largoi zem\u00ebrimin e tij nga turmat e njer\u00ebzve. T\u00eb gjitha profecit\u00eb e shenjtorit u p\u00ebrmbush\u00ebn me sakt\u00ebsi, pa i hedhur kurr\u00eb koh\u00eb fjal\u00ebt e tij. Ai kishte profetizuar se i moshuari Euthymius Heshturi do t\u00eb hynte n\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjtin varr me t\u00eb dhe v\u00ebrtet u b\u00eb ashtu si\u00e7 tha ai. K\u00ebto dhunti t\u00eb m\u00ebdha nuk i fitoi leht\u00eb, por pas shum\u00eb vitesh durim n\u00eb s\u00ebmundje t\u00eb r\u00ebnda dhe tundime mizore. Osh\u00ebnar Joani parashikoi qart\u00eb vdekjen e tij, nj\u00eb jav\u00eb pasi Abba Seridos ra n\u00eb gjum\u00eb. Igumeni i ri i manastirit, Abba Aelianos, e luti me zell q\u00eb t\u00eb q\u00ebndronte edhe dy jav\u00eb, p\u00ebr t\u00eb m\u00ebsuar rregullin formal dhe m\u00ebnyr\u00ebn e administrimit t\u00eb manastirit. Ajo ishte e njohur edhe nga hieromonku Nikos i Mavrovuniotis, s\u00eb bashku me asket\u00ebt e tjer\u00eb ortodoks\u00eb dhe shkrimtar\u00ebt kishtar\u00eb.
