Aty u takua me hieromonkun Grigori Sarafis dhe m\u00eb von\u00eb Plakun Daniel nga Zagora e Pelionit, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt do t\u00eb p\u00ebrcaktojn\u00eb gjith\u00eb jet\u00ebn e tij. Athanasi i vog\u00ebl, si\u00e7 ishte emri i pag\u00ebzimit, lindi n\u00eb Janin\u00eb m\u00eb 31 janar 1800, nga prind\u00ebr t\u00eb devotsh\u00ebm e ortodoks\u00eb. Por shum\u00eb shpejt i humbi t\u00eb dyja dhe atdheu i gjor\u00eb Epiri nuk mund t&#x27;i jepte as sht\u00ebpi as m\u00ebsues. Danieli e priti dhe e inicioi n\u00eb jet\u00ebn monastike, t\u00eb cil\u00ebn Et\u00ebrit e quajn\u00eb arti i artit dhe shkenca e shkencave. Pas ca koh\u00ebsh e b\u00ebri murg dhe i dha tre m\u00ebsime themelore. Pas nj\u00eb prove t\u00eb re, Plaku e vendosi n\u00eb Form\u00ebn e Madhe dhe Engj\u00ebllor dhe i vuri emrin Arsenios. Ata q\u00ebndruan s\u00eb bashku n\u00eb Agios Osos p\u00ebr gjasht\u00eb vjet t\u00eb t\u00ebra, n\u00eb agj\u00ebrim, vigjilje dhe lutje t\u00eb pand\u00ebrprer\u00eb. Por trazirat rreth Kolivad\u00ebve, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt k\u00ebrkonin respektim t\u00eb rrept\u00eb t\u00eb tradit\u00ebs, kungimin e shpesht\u00eb dhe respektimin e p\u00ebrkujtimeve t\u00eb shtun\u00ebn, i detyruan dy luft\u00ebtar\u00ebt t\u00eb largoheshin nga mali. N\u00eb fillim t\u00eb vitit 1821, pak para se t\u00eb shp\u00ebrthente Lufta e Pavar\u00ebsis\u00eb, t\u00eb dy baballar\u00ebt mb\u00ebrrit\u00ebn n\u00eb Manastirin Pentelis af\u00ebr Athin\u00ebs. Q\u00ebndrimi i tyre atje ishte i shkurt\u00ebr, sepse plaku Daniel parashikoi me nj\u00eb dhurat\u00eb profetike shkat\u00ebrrimin e ardhsh\u00ebm t\u00eb manastirit nga turqit. Banor\u00ebt e ishullit nuk kishin m\u00ebsues p\u00ebr f\u00ebmij\u00ebt e tyre dhe iu lut\u00ebn Plakut q\u00eb t\u00eb lejonte Arsenios t\u00eb merrte p\u00ebrsip\u00ebr detyr\u00ebn e edukimit. Danieli pranoi, u kujdes q\u00eb t\u00eb shugurohej dhjak dhe m\u00eb pas u em\u00ebrua zyrtarisht nga shteti n\u00eb detyr\u00ebn e m\u00ebsuesit. Nga tet\u00ebqind e nj\u00ebzet e n\u00ebnt\u00eb deri n\u00eb tet\u00ebmb\u00ebdhjet\u00ebqind e dyzet, ai u m\u00ebsoi f\u00ebmij\u00ebve shkronjat, por n\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjt\u00ebn koh\u00eb ai formoi personazhe dhe i udh\u00ebhoqi n\u00eb jet\u00ebt e t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve t\u00eb devotsh\u00ebm. M\u00eb 1837, Plaku Daniel e zuri gjumi, pasi fillimisht i k\u00ebrkoi dishepullit t\u00eb tij t&#x27;i \u00e7onte eshtrat e tij n\u00eb malin Athos. Duke iu bindur urdhrit t\u00eb fundit t\u00eb Plakut, Arsenios u largua nga Folegandros me synimin p\u00ebr t\u00eb ndaluar n\u00eb Paros dhe m\u00eb pas p\u00ebr t\u00eb vazhduar n\u00eb malin Athos. N\u00eb Manastirin e Agios Gjergji, ai u prit nga igumeni, At Ilias Georgiadis dhe i zbuloi se ishte vullneti i Zotit q\u00eb ai t\u00eb q\u00ebndronte n\u00eb ishull. K\u00ebshilla rezultoi e ditur, sepse Mali Athos ishte n\u00eb ankth t\u00eb madh pas Revolucionit, pasi tre mij\u00eb ushtar\u00eb turq e pushtuan at\u00eb dhe kishin detyruar pes\u00eb mij\u00eb nga gjasht\u00eb mij\u00eb murgj t\u00eb iknin. Arsenios iu bashkua eskort\u00ebs s\u00eb pjes\u00ebs veriore t\u00eb Paros, ku gjeti burra t\u00eb men\u00e7ur dhe t\u00eb virtytsh\u00ebm, modele t\u00eb gjalla p\u00ebr betejat e tij. Kur n\u00eb mosh\u00ebn dyzet e shtat\u00eb vje\u00e7 u shugurua presbiter, ai i intensifikoi edhe m\u00eb shum\u00eb pun\u00ebn e tij asketike. Ai studionte \u00e7do dit\u00eb Shkrimet e Shenjta dhe shkrimet e Et\u00ebrve, praktikonte lutjen mendore t\u00eb zemr\u00ebs pa nd\u00ebrprerje dhe mori nga Zoti dhurat\u00ebn e lot\u00ebve. K\u00ebshtu ai i ngjante mbrojt\u00ebsit t\u00eb tij Sh\u00ebn Arseni i Madh, i cili qante pa pushim me lot ankthi. Pak nga pak banor\u00ebt e Paros e njoh\u00ebn at\u00eb si nj\u00eb baba t\u00eb shk\u00eblqyer shpirt\u00ebror dhe udh\u00ebrr\u00ebfyes t\u00eb sigurt shpirtrash. Kur q\u00ebndroi p\u00ebrpara altarit t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb, ndjeu se po dilte para k\u00ebtij Zoti. Punonte me entuziaz\u00ebm t\u00eb thell\u00eb dhe fytyra e tij shpesh shk\u00eblqente si fytyra e nj\u00eb engj\u00eblli n\u00eb hapin e shenjt\u00eb. Nd\u00ebrsa fama e virtyteve t\u00eb tij p\u00ebrhapej, turma besimtar\u00ebsh dyndeshin drejt tij nga \u00e7do cep. T\u00eb gjitha i priti me dashuri at\u00ebrore dhe secilit i dha ila\u00e7in e duhur shpirt\u00ebror q\u00eb i sh\u00ebronte shpirtin. Nj\u00eb her\u00eb nj\u00eb vajz\u00eb nga Sirosi mb\u00ebrriti n\u00eb Manastirin e Shp\u00ebrfytyrimit p\u00ebr t\u00eb takuar motr\u00ebn e saj, e cila ishte murgesh\u00eb. Murgesha ishte informuar se motra e saj kishte r\u00ebn\u00eb n\u00eb m\u00ebkat t\u00eb r\u00ebnd\u00eb dhe e priti me mizori dhe fyerje. S\u00eb bashku me motrat e tjera ata rrah\u00ebn vajz\u00ebn e vuajtur dhe i than\u00eb t\u00eb ikte. Ajo qau dhe lutej p\u00ebr falje, por e motra e urdh\u00ebroi t\u00eb mbytej p\u00ebr t\u00eb lar\u00eb turpin e familjes. Vajza fatkeqe u largua e p\u00ebrgjakur dhe e plagosur, e vendosur p\u00ebr t&#x27;i dh\u00ebn\u00eb fund jet\u00ebs n\u00eb at\u00eb moment. Por n\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjt\u00ebn koh\u00eb Osh\u00ebnar Arsenios po shkonte n\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjtin manastir dhe e takoi at\u00eb rrug\u00ebs. Ai e pyeti me dashuri se \u00e7far\u00eb i kishte ndodhur dhe ajo i zbuloi atij gabimin dhe refuzimin e motr\u00ebs s\u00eb saj. \u201cM\u00eb thuaj, plak, t\u00eb hidhem n\u00eb det ose t\u00eb rr\u00ebzohem nga shk\u00ebmbi\u201d, e pyeti ajo e d\u00ebshp\u00ebruar. Shenjtori iu p\u00ebrgjigj \u00ebmb\u00ebl se nuk e k\u00ebshillon t\u00eb b\u00ebj\u00eb asnj\u00ebr\u00ebn, por do ta marr\u00eb me vete p\u00ebr t\u00eb sh\u00ebruar plag\u00ebt e shpirtit dhe trupit. Kur ajo kishte frik\u00eb t\u00eb kthehej n\u00eb manastir, shenjtori e qet\u00ebsoi duke th\u00ebn\u00eb se ai po ia dor\u00ebzonte Krishtit dhe askush nuk do t\u00eb guxonte ta d\u00ebmtonte. K\u00ebshtu vajza e ndoqi me besim. Osh\u00ebnar e \u00e7oi n\u00eb manastir, e rr\u00ebfeu dhe e priti si murgesh\u00eb. Pastaj i mblodhi t\u00eb gjitha motrat n\u00eb tempull dhe i vuri n\u00eb prov\u00eb ashp\u00ebr p\u00ebr ngurt\u00ebsin\u00eb e tyre t\u00eb zemr\u00ebs ndaj t\u00eb penduarit. Ai u kujtoi atyre sh\u00ebmb\u00eblltyr\u00ebn e Plangprish\u00ebs dhe sesi Krishti zbriti n\u00eb tok\u00eb pik\u00ebrisht p\u00ebr t\u00eb shp\u00ebtuar m\u00ebkatar\u00ebt, duke jetuar mes tyre me dashuri dhe m\u00ebshir\u00eb. \u201cPor ju b\u00ebt\u00eb t\u00eb kund\u00ebrt\u00ebn, \u2013 u tha me dhimbje, \u2013 ju nuk e m\u00ebshironi shpirtin e saj t\u00eb plagosur, por e godit\u00ebt dhe e shtyt\u00eb p\u00ebr vdekje. Ai i quajti ata xhelat dhe i ndaloi nga Kungimi i Shenjt\u00eb p\u00ebr tre vjet, n\u00ebse ata nuk e pranonin m\u00ebkatin e tyre dhe nuk pendoheshin sinqerisht. Murgeshat shp\u00ebrthyen n\u00eb lot t\u00eb hidhur dhe u penduan thell\u00eb p\u00ebr sjelljen e tyre. Pastaj Osh\u00ebnar u m\u00ebshiroi dhe leht\u00ebsoi d\u00ebnimin, duke i caktuar motr\u00ebs s\u00eb vajz\u00ebs nj\u00eb vit abstenim nga Kungimi i Shenjt\u00eb. T\u00eb tjer\u00ebve, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt mor\u00ebn pjes\u00eb n\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjtin m\u00ebkat mizori, ai u dha gjasht\u00eb muaj burgim. N\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb ai tregoi se si rrept\u00ebsia e rregullit bashkohet me dashurin\u00eb e babait. Osh\u00ebnar parashikoi gjumin e tij nj\u00eb muaj para se t\u00eb ndodhte. N\u00eb Liturgjin\u00eb e fest\u00ebs s\u00eb Vasilit t\u00eb Madh, ai u njoftoi f\u00ebmij\u00ebve t\u00eb tij shpirt\u00ebror\u00eb se s\u00eb shpejti do t&#x27;u thot\u00eb lamtumir\u00eb p\u00ebrgjithmon\u00eb. Me shum\u00eb v\u00ebshtir\u00ebsi ai arriti t\u00eb sh\u00ebrbej\u00eb n\u00eb dit\u00ebn e Epifanis\u00eb dhe pas sh\u00ebrbes\u00ebs u zbuloi disa murgeshave se kjo ishte Liturgjia e tij e fundit Hyjnore n\u00eb tok\u00eb. Lajmi p\u00ebr s\u00ebmundjen dhe vdekjen e tij t\u00eb af\u00ebrt u p\u00ebrhap me shpejt\u00ebsi n\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00eb fshatrat e Paros. Besimtar\u00ebt qan\u00eb me hidh\u00ebrim, sepse po humbisnin atin shpirt\u00ebror, dhe u v\u00ebrsul\u00ebn drejt tij p\u00ebr p\u00ebrqafimin e fundit dhe bekimin e tij.
