Aty nd\u00ebrtoi me parat\u00eb e saj nj\u00eb spital p\u00ebr pelegrin\u00ebt, nj\u00eb manastir p\u00ebr burrat p\u00ebr Sh\u00ebn Jeronimin dhe tre manastire grash. Osia Pavlia lindi m\u00eb 5 maj t\u00eb vitit treqind e dyzet e shtat\u00eb, fryt i bashkimit t\u00eb dy brezave t\u00eb m\u00ebdhenj. Babai i saj Rogatos ishte grek, nd\u00ebrsa n\u00ebna Vlesilla vinte nga familjet m\u00eb t\u00eb shk\u00eblqyera t\u00eb qytetit t\u00eb p\u00ebrjetsh\u00ebm. Ajo u martua me nj\u00eb burr\u00eb t\u00eb pasur t\u00eb quajtur Shigjetari dhe pati gjasht\u00eb f\u00ebmij\u00eb me t\u00eb, pes\u00eb vajza dhe nj\u00eb djal\u00eb q\u00eb mori emrin e babait. Por jeta e saj e lumtur u shkat\u00ebrrua kur mbeti e ve n\u00eb mosh\u00ebn tridhjet\u00eb e tre vje\u00e7are. Dhimbja e saj ishte aq e r\u00ebnd\u00eb sa gati e \u00e7oi n\u00eb vdekje nga pik\u00ebllimi. Me kalimin e koh\u00ebs ai e kuptoi kot\u00ebsin\u00eb e t\u00eb gjitha gj\u00ebrave tok\u00ebsore dhe iu n\u00ebnshtrua me gjith\u00eb zem\u00ebr vullnetit t\u00eb Per\u00ebndis\u00eb. Pak nga pak ajo u m\u00ebsua me ushqimin e thjesht\u00eb dhe veshjet e lira, duke ndryshuar rr\u00ebnj\u00ebsisht m\u00ebnyr\u00ebn e jetes\u00ebs. Pavlia tani nuk pranoi t\u00eb ulej n\u00eb tryez\u00eb me asnj\u00eb burr\u00eb, madje edhe peshkop\u00ebt q\u00eb ajo priste dhe k\u00ebshillat e t\u00eb cil\u00ebve k\u00ebrkonte. Nd\u00ebrsa i shoqi ishte gjall\u00eb, ajo kujdesej ta k\u00ebnaqte n\u00eb \u00e7do gj\u00eb, por pas vdekjes s\u00eb tij iu p\u00ebrkushtua t\u00ebr\u00ebsisht sh\u00ebrbimit t\u00eb Zotit. Ai u lidh ngusht\u00eb me Sh\u00ebn Markel\u00ebn, nj\u00eb tjet\u00ebr t\u00eb ve q\u00eb kishte organizuar n\u00eb kodr\u00ebn Aventine nj\u00eb lloj v\u00ebllaz\u00ebrie shpirt\u00ebrore. Kjo shoq\u00ebri e grave fisnike romake p\u00ebrfshinte gra q\u00eb donin studimin dhe st\u00ebrvitjen e Bibl\u00ebs. Udh\u00ebheq\u00ebsi shpirt\u00ebror i grupit ishte Sh\u00ebn Jeronimi, plaku dhe p\u00ebrkthyesi i famsh\u00ebm q\u00eb p\u00ebrktheu Bibl\u00ebn n\u00eb latinisht nga dor\u00ebshkrimet greke dhe hebraike. Kur u nis p\u00ebr n\u00eb Tok\u00ebn e Shenjt\u00eb n\u00eb vitin treqind e tet\u00ebdhjet\u00eb e pes\u00eb, Pavlia vendosi ta ndiqte. F\u00ebmij\u00ebt e saj ishin pothuajse t\u00eb rritur dhe ajo vet\u00eb ishte e lodhur nga pun\u00ebt dhe jeta e k\u00ebsaj bote t\u00eb Rom\u00ebs. Me vete ajo mori vajz\u00ebn e saj t\u00eb pamartuar Eustochio, e cila gjithashtu d\u00ebshironte t\u00eb shihte vendet e shenjta dhe t&#x27;ia kushtonte virgj\u00ebrin\u00eb e saj Krishtit. Ata arrit\u00ebn n\u00eb Jeruzalem dhe adhuruan vendet e shenjta me lot, q\u00ebndruan para Kryqit t\u00eb Shenjt\u00eb dhe ec\u00ebn n\u00eb rrug\u00ebn e martirizimit t\u00eb Zotit. Me g\u00ebzim t\u00eb thell\u00eb ata p\u00ebrqafuan varrin jet\u00ebdh\u00ebn\u00ebs t\u00eb Krishtit dhe m\u00eb pas vazhduan udh\u00ebtimin p\u00ebr n\u00eb Betlehem. Aty, n\u00eb vendin ku lindi Zoti nga Hyjlind\u00ebse Virgj\u00ebresha, ata gjet\u00ebn sht\u00ebpin\u00eb e tyre t\u00eb re p\u00ebrgjithmon\u00eb. Sh\u00ebn Jeronimi ishte vendosur tashm\u00eb n\u00eb zon\u00eb, k\u00ebshtu q\u00eb Pavlia bleu nj\u00eb sht\u00ebpi t\u00eb vog\u00ebl pran\u00eb m\u00ebsuesit dhe babait t\u00eb saj shpirt\u00ebror. Pasuria e saj e lejoi at\u00eb t\u00eb krijonte nj\u00eb spital p\u00ebr pelegrin\u00ebt q\u00eb vinin t\u00eb rraskapitur nga udh\u00ebtimet e gjata. Ai nd\u00ebrtoi gjithashtu nj\u00eb manastir p\u00ebr Sh\u00ebn Jeronimin dhe murgjit e tij, si dhe tre manastira grash. Ai shtoi gjithashtu nj\u00eb kish\u00eb mjaft t\u00eb madhe p\u00ebr t\u00eb akomoduar murgeshat nga t\u00eb tre motrat gjat\u00eb sh\u00ebrbesave. Ajo vet\u00eb i drejtonte pun\u00ebt e manastirit t\u00eb saj me maturi, dashuri dhe kujdes t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00eb amnor p\u00ebr t\u00eb gjitha motrat. Megjith\u00eb pasurin\u00eb dhe lindjen e saj fisnike, ajo kurr\u00eb nuk refuzoi t\u00eb kryente detyrat m\u00eb modeste t\u00eb njer\u00ebzve t\u00eb zakonsh\u00ebm. Me jet\u00ebn e saj ajo u m\u00ebsoi t\u00eb tjer\u00ebve, duke treguar qart\u00eb me shembullin e saj rrug\u00ebn e p\u00ebrul\u00ebsis\u00eb q\u00eb ata duhet t\u00eb ndjekin. Ngaq\u00eb kishte m\u00ebsuar greqisht nga i ati, vendosi t\u00eb studionte edhe gjuh\u00ebn hebraike. Motrat merreshin edhe me pun\u00eb krahu, duke qepur rroba p\u00ebr vete dhe p\u00ebr t\u00eb varf\u00ebrit e zon\u00ebs. Sh\u00ebn Pavlia ia dor\u00ebzoi shpirtin Zotit n\u00eb mosh\u00ebn pes\u00ebdhjet\u00eb e gjasht\u00eb vje\u00e7, pas nj\u00eb udh\u00ebtimi t\u00eb bekuar. Ajo jetoi pes\u00eb vjet t\u00eb vej\u00eb n\u00eb Rom\u00eb dhe pothuajse nj\u00ebzet vjet t\u00eb t\u00ebra n\u00eb Betlehemin e shenjt\u00eb. Gjat\u00eb s\u00ebmundjes s\u00eb saj t\u00eb fundit ajo i p\u00ebrs\u00ebriste psalmet pothuajse vazhdimisht, duke pasur gjithmon\u00eb lavd\u00ebrimet e Zotit n\u00eb buz\u00ebt e saj. Pasi nuk mundi m\u00eb t\u00eb fliste, b\u00ebri me gishta shenj\u00ebn e kryqit n\u00eb buz\u00eb dhe ra n\u00eb gjum\u00eb n\u00eb Zotin. Gjumi i saj u b\u00eb m\u00eb nj\u00ebzet e gjasht\u00eb janar t\u00eb vitit kat\u00ebrqind e kat\u00ebr, n\u00eb nj\u00eb atmosfer\u00eb lutjeje t\u00eb thell\u00eb dhe paqeje shpirt\u00ebrore. Dy dit\u00eb m\u00eb von\u00eb trupi i saj u transportua n\u00eb litani nga disa peshkop\u00eb t\u00eb rajonit me pjes\u00ebmarrje t\u00eb gjer\u00eb. Varri i saj shfaqet edhe sot n\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjtin vend, pran\u00eb atij t\u00eb Sh\u00ebn Jeronimit, por tani \u00ebsht\u00eb bosh. Sh\u00ebn Jeronimi kompozoi nj\u00eb epitaf latin n\u00eb vargje, i cili u gdhend mbi varrin e saj n\u00eb kujtim t\u00eb p\u00ebrjetsh\u00ebm. Me kalimin e koh\u00ebs, mbishkrimi u fshi plot\u00ebsisht, por vargjet mbijetuan n\u00eb fund t\u00eb nj\u00eb letre q\u00eb ai i shkroi vajz\u00ebs s\u00eb saj. Kujtimi i Sh\u00ebn Pavli\u00ebs nderohet nga Kisha si shembull pendimi, dashurie dhe bamir\u00ebsie.
