Kur m\u00eb n\u00eb fund u t\u00ebrhoq\u00ebn zvarr\u00eb para prefektit Lisias, kthetrat e hekurt \u00e7an\u00eb mishin e tyre dhe pishtar\u00ebt e djegur dogj\u00ebn plag\u00ebt e tyre. Shenjtor\u00ebt Valeriani, Kandidi, Akuila dhe Eugenius jetuan gjat\u00eb viteve t\u00eb v\u00ebshtira t\u00eb perandor\u00ebve Dioklecian dhe Maksimian, kur persekutimi kund\u00ebr t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve po p\u00ebrhapej n\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00eb perandorin\u00eb. Ata preferuan jet\u00ebn e ashp\u00ebr t\u00eb shkret\u00ebtir\u00ebs sesa \u00e7do kompromis me idhujtarin\u00eb. Por ushtar\u00ebt e Lisias i zbuluan n\u00eb vendet e tyre t\u00eb fshehta dhe i arrestuan pa v\u00ebshtir\u00ebsi. Pastaj i var\u00ebn dhe i gris\u00ebn trupat me kthetra hekuri, nd\u00ebrsa n\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjt\u00ebn koh\u00eb u dogj\u00ebn plag\u00ebt e hapura me pishtar\u00eb t\u00eb ndezur. Por mes dhimbjeve, fuqia hyjnore i forcoi fshehurazi atlet\u00ebt e Krishtit. Papritur nj\u00eb frik\u00eb misterioze i pushtoi vet\u00eb torturuesit dhe ata ran\u00eb n\u00eb tok\u00eb si t\u00eb vdekur. Prefekti i Lisias donte t\u00eb posht\u00ebronte Eugjeni dhe urdh\u00ebroi q\u00eb ta \u00e7onin me vete n\u00eb nj\u00eb tempull pagan. M\u00eb pas prefekti vendosi t\u00eb shfaroste t\u00eb kat\u00ebr sportist\u00ebt bashk\u00eb. Ai i urdh\u00ebroi ata t\u00eb ndezin nj\u00eb furr\u00eb t\u00eb tmerrshme dhe t&#x27;i hidhnin n\u00eb flak\u00ebt e zjarrta, n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb q\u00eb trupat e tyre t\u00eb digjeshin plot\u00ebsisht. Por kur hap\u00ebn der\u00ebn e furr\u00ebs, kat\u00ebr d\u00ebshmor\u00ebt dol\u00ebn pa asnj\u00eb d\u00ebm n\u00eb trup. As flok\u00ebt e tyre nuk ishin djegur dhe as rrobat e tyre nuk ishin ndryshuar nga zjarri. Kjo mrekulli tregoi qart\u00eb se Krishti ishte i pranish\u00ebm pran\u00eb tyre n\u00eb torturat m\u00eb t\u00eb r\u00ebnda. K\u00ebshtu ata mor\u00ebn kurorat amarante t\u00eb martirizimit n\u00eb rreth dyqind e n\u00ebnt\u00ebdhjet\u00eb e dy vjet pas Krishtit. Kisha e nderon kujtimin e tyre n\u00eb nj\u00ebzet e nj\u00eb janar t\u00eb \u00e7do viti me nderim t\u00eb ve\u00e7ant\u00eb.
