Sh\u00ebn Euphrasia preferoi t\u00eb vdiste me nj\u00eb mashtrim t\u00eb zgjuar n\u00eb vend q\u00eb t\u00eb humbiste virgj\u00ebrin\u00eb gjat\u00eb viteve t\u00eb perandorit Maksimian. Ajo vinte nga nj\u00eb familje zyrtare e Nikomedias dhe shquhej p\u00ebr bukurin\u00eb, men\u00e7urin\u00eb dhe moralin e saj t\u00eb mir\u00eb. Q\u00eb n\u00eb mosh\u00eb t\u00eb re ajo ia kishte kushtuar jet\u00ebn Krishtit dhe i sh\u00ebrbeu si sh\u00ebrb\u00ebtorja e tij besnike me gjith\u00eb shpirt. Kur shp\u00ebrtheu p\u00ebrndjekja e madhe kund\u00ebr t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve, disa njer\u00ebz e raportuan at\u00eb tek autoritetet p\u00ebr besimin e saj. Pagan\u00ebt e arrestuan dhe i k\u00ebrkuan t\u00eb mohonte Krishtin dhe t\u00eb flijonte p\u00ebr idhujt. Por ajo q\u00ebndroi e pal\u00ebkundur n\u00eb rr\u00ebfimin e saj dhe nuk pranoi n\u00eb asnj\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb t\u00eb tradhtonte besimin e saj. Kur barbari e \u00e7oi n\u00eb dhom\u00eb, Euphrasia gjeti forc\u00ebn t\u00eb fliste me men\u00e7uri dhe qet\u00ebsi. Ai i k\u00ebrkoi t\u00eb priste pak, sepse donte t&#x27;i jepte nj\u00eb barishte t\u00eb mrekullueshme me fuqi t\u00eb madhe. Ai i shpjegoi se n\u00ebse e kishte gjithmon\u00eb mbi vete, asnj\u00eb arm\u00eb armike nuk mund ta prekte n\u00eb betej\u00eb. Me fjal\u00eb t\u00eb tjera, ajo luajti rolin e shtrig\u00ebs, p\u00ebr t\u00eb fituar koh\u00eb dhe p\u00ebr t\u00eb shp\u00ebtuar past\u00ebrtin\u00eb e saj. Barbari u bind nga fjal\u00ebt e saj dhe pranoi t\u00eb mos e prekte derisa ajo t&#x27;i sillte at\u00eb barin e lakmuar. K\u00ebshtu ata dol\u00ebn s\u00eb bashku n\u00eb kopsht dhe Sh\u00ebn preu nj\u00eb bim\u00eb q\u00eb gjeti aty pran\u00eb. Ajo e mori n\u00eb duar dhe ia tregoi ushtarit n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb t\u00eb qet\u00eb dhe t\u00eb sigurt. M\u00eb pas e pyeti me mosbesim se si mund t\u00eb ishte i sigurt p\u00ebr v\u00ebrtet\u00ebsin\u00eb e fjal\u00ebve t\u00eb saj. Euphrasia e vuri menj\u00ebher\u00eb barin e prer\u00eb n\u00eb qaf\u00eb dhe i foli me z\u00eb t\u00eb q\u00ebndruesh\u00ebm. Ajo i k\u00ebrkoi t\u00eb merrte shpat\u00ebn e tij t\u00eb mpreht\u00eb dhe ta godiste me gjith\u00eb forc\u00ebn n\u00eb qaf\u00eb. Ajo e siguroi at\u00eb se shpata nuk do t\u00eb arrinte t&#x27;i b\u00ebnte as d\u00ebmin m\u00eb t\u00eb vog\u00ebl. Barbari u besoi fjal\u00ebve t\u00eb saj dhe ngriti shpat\u00ebn me t\u00eb dy duart. Ai e rr\u00ebzoi goditjen me nj\u00eb shpejt\u00ebsi t\u00eb till\u00eb, saq\u00eb ia preu menj\u00ebher\u00eb kok\u00ebn e bukur Sh\u00ebns Eufrazis\u00eb. Martirja ra p\u00ebrtok\u00eb e vdekur, duke ia dor\u00ebzuar shpirtin Dh\u00ebndrit t\u00eb saj qiellor Krishtit. Ai vit ishte treqind e tre pas lindjes s\u00eb Shp\u00ebtimtarit ton\u00eb Jisu.
