P\u00ebr shenjtor\u00ebt Neollina dhe Domnina nuk \u00ebsht\u00eb ruajtur asnj\u00eb informacion historik, nd\u00ebrsa p\u00ebr Sh\u00ebn Parthen\u00ebn dim\u00eb jo pak. Parthena erdhi nga Edesa e Maqedonis\u00eb dhe lindi n\u00eb shekullin e kat\u00ebrmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb n\u00eb nj\u00eb familje t\u00eb shquar t\u00eb qytetit. Jeta e saj i p\u00ebrshtatej n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb t\u00eb p\u00ebrkryer emrit t\u00eb saj t\u00eb vajz\u00ebris\u00eb, pasi ajo i kaloi dit\u00ebt e saj n\u00eb ashp\u00ebrsi asketike dhe p\u00ebrul\u00ebsi t\u00eb thell\u00eb. Q\u00eb n\u00eb mosh\u00eb t\u00eb re ajo tregoi dashuri p\u00ebr lutjen dhe iu p\u00ebrkushtua me gjith\u00eb zem\u00ebr Krishtit, t\u00eb cilin e konsideronte dh\u00ebndrin e shpirtit t\u00eb saj. K\u00ebshtu ajo u rrit n\u00eb devotshm\u00ebri, duke mos e imagjinuar sprov\u00ebn e tmerrshme q\u00eb do t\u00eb haste m\u00eb von\u00eb nga sht\u00ebpia e saj. Koha e saj ishte e v\u00ebshtir\u00eb, pasi Maqedonia p\u00ebrballej me k\u00ebrc\u00ebnimin e vazhduesh\u00ebm t\u00eb pushtuesve osman\u00eb. N\u00eb vitin 1375 pas Krishtit turqit rrethuan Edes\u00ebn dhe banor\u00ebt i rezistuan me guxim sulmeve t\u00eb armikut. N\u00eb luft\u00ebn e tyre ata u forcuan nga hieromonku Serafim, famullitar i kish\u00ebs metropolitane t\u00eb Fjetjes s\u00eb Virgj\u00ebresh\u00ebs, i cili u dha kurajo t\u00eb gjith\u00ebve. Armiku ishte i shumt\u00eb dhe i organizuar mir\u00eb, por m\u00eb n\u00eb fund po p\u00ebrgatiteshin t\u00eb \u00e7anin rrethimin dhe t\u00eb t\u00ebrhiqeshin. Por n\u00eb momentin e fundit, nj\u00eb nga prift\u00ebrinjt\u00eb e qytetit, Pjetri, i cili ishte babai i Sh\u00ebn Virgj\u00ebresh\u00ebs, pranoi nj\u00eb shum\u00eb t\u00eb madhe parash nga pashai turk. K\u00ebshtu, nat\u00ebn, ai tradhtoi qytetin p\u00ebr t\u00eb cilin ishte betuar se do t\u00eb sh\u00ebrbente si sh\u00ebrb\u00ebtor i Per\u00ebndis\u00eb. Turqit pushtuan Edes\u00ebn m\u00eb nj\u00ebzet e gjasht\u00eb dhjetor t\u00eb atij viti nga juglindja, pik\u00ebrisht aty ku ruante prifti tradhtar. N\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb pik\u00eb u zhvillua nj\u00eb nga betejat m\u00eb t\u00eb ashpra p\u00ebr mbrojtjen e qytetit. Pas pushtimit banor\u00ebt thereshin ose shiteshin si skllev\u00ebr n\u00ebp\u00ebr pazare, nd\u00ebrsa sht\u00ebpit\u00eb u pla\u00e7kit\u00ebn dhe grat\u00eb u \u00e7nderuan. Hieromonku Serafim u arrestua dhe p\u00ebsoi tortura t\u00eb tmerrshme nga pushtuesit. N\u00eb fund e mbyt\u00ebn n\u00eb uj\u00ebvar\u00ebn e madhe q\u00eb turqit e quanin Itceri Pasha, pra uj\u00ebrat e pashait. Tradhtari Pjetri, pas krimit t\u00eb tmerrsh\u00ebm q\u00eb \u00e7oi n\u00eb r\u00ebnien e Edes\u00ebs, mohoi Krishtin dhe p\u00ebrqafoi Islamin. Dhe si t\u00eb mos mjaftonte kjo, ai ia dha pashait edhe vajz\u00ebn e Virgj\u00ebresh\u00ebs si konkubin\u00eb, pasi nuk mundi ta bindte t\u00eb mohonte besimin e saj. Kur shenjtorja d\u00ebgjoi fjal\u00ebt e t\u00eb atit, u trondit plot\u00ebsisht, ashtu si\u00e7 ndodhej Sh\u00ebn Barbara para t\u00ebrbimit t\u00eb t\u00eb atit. Me guxim shpirt\u00ebror ajo i deklaroi prindit t\u00eb saj t\u00eb pak\u00ebnaqur se nuk do ta mohonte kurr\u00eb emrin m\u00eb t\u00eb \u00ebmb\u00ebl t\u00eb dh\u00ebndrit t\u00eb saj qiellor, Jisu Krishtit. Ai, n\u00eb vend q\u00eb t\u00eb turp\u00ebrohej dhe t\u00eb pendohej p\u00ebr veprat e tij, u t\u00ebrbua dhe e trajtoi f\u00ebmij\u00ebn e tij si nj\u00eb bish\u00eb t\u00eb eg\u00ebr. Filloi ta rrihte me furi, derisa e la t\u00eb gjakosur dhe humbi mendjen n\u00eb dysheme. Pastaj e zhveshi dhe ua dor\u00ebzoi ushtar\u00ebve turq. Ushtar\u00ebt e torturuan mizorisht p\u00ebr tre dit\u00eb t\u00eb t\u00ebra pa asnj\u00eb gjurm\u00eb m\u00ebshir\u00eb.
