Virgj\u00ebresha e re, megjithat\u00eb, n\u00eb vend q\u00eb t\u00eb p\u00ebrkulej, q\u00ebndroi para tij dhe rr\u00ebfeu me guxim Krishtin. T\u00eb diel\u00ebn e par\u00eb pas Epifanis\u00eb, Mitropolia e Shenjt\u00eb e Edes\u00ebs dhe e Pelit nderon kujtimin e tre martir\u00ebve t\u00eb virgj\u00ebr, Neollin\u00ebs, Domnin\u00ebs dhe Virgj\u00ebresh\u00ebs s\u00eb Edessaias. P\u00ebr dy shenjtor\u00ebt e par\u00eb historia hesht dhe nuk jan\u00eb ruajtur detaje p\u00ebr jet\u00ebn dhe martirizimin e tyre. Por figura e Sh\u00ebn Parthen\u00ebs jeton n\u00eb tradit\u00ebn e Edes\u00ebs maqedonase me past\u00ebrti trondit\u00ebse. Ai erdhi nga vet\u00eb Edessa dhe jetoi rreth shekullit t\u00eb kat\u00ebrmb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb pas Krishtit. Emri i saj nuk ishte thjesht konvencional, por pasqyronte t\u00eb gjith\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00ebn e saj t\u00eb jetes\u00ebs, modestin\u00eb dhe st\u00ebrvitjen. Ajo i kaloi vitet e saj t\u00eb reja n\u00eb lutje, abstenim dhe p\u00ebrkushtim t\u00eb vazhduesh\u00ebm ndaj Krishtit. K\u00ebshtu ai po p\u00ebrgatitej, pa e ditur, p\u00ebr or\u00ebn e madhe t\u00eb rr\u00ebfimit dhe t\u00eb martirizimit q\u00eb po afrohej. N\u00eb vitin nj\u00ebmij\u00eb e treqind e shtat\u00ebdhjet\u00eb e pes\u00eb pas Krishtit, Edessa papritur u gjend n\u00ebn nj\u00eb rrethim t\u00eb ashp\u00ebr nga trupat turke. Banor\u00ebt rezistuan me guxim, t\u00eb frym\u00ebzuar nga hieromonku Serafim, famullitar i kish\u00ebs metropolitane t\u00eb Fjetjes s\u00eb Virgj\u00ebresh\u00ebs. Armiku ishte i shumt\u00eb dhe i organizuar mir\u00eb, por rezistenca e edesian\u00ebve i kishte v\u00ebn\u00eb n\u00eb pozit\u00eb t\u00eb v\u00ebshtir\u00eb. Gjith\u00e7ka tregonte se turqit tani po p\u00ebrgatiteshin t\u00eb hiqnin rrethimin dhe t\u00eb t\u00ebrhiqeshin. Por n\u00eb momentin e fundit, nj\u00eb nga t\u00eb par\u00ebt e qytetit, Pjetri, t\u00eb cilin tradita e quan Kell Pjetri, shiti vendlindjen e tij. Ky burr\u00eb, i ati i Sh\u00ebn Parthenasit, mori nj\u00eb shum\u00eb t\u00eb madhe parash nga Pasha dhe hapi port\u00ebn. M\u00eb nj\u00ebzet e gjasht\u00eb dhjetor t\u00eb po atij viti, turqit pushtuan nga juglindja, pik\u00ebrisht aty ku ruante tradhtari. Pasuan therje, kapje dhe pla\u00e7kitje dhe qyteti i bukur u zhyt n\u00eb zi dhe gjak. E kap\u00ebn edhe hieromonkun trim Serafimin dhe pas torturave mizore e mbyt\u00ebn n\u00eb uj\u00ebvar\u00ebn e madhe, t\u00eb njohur si uj\u00ebrat e Pashait. Pas marrjes s\u00eb qytetit, tradhtari Pjetri vazhdoi nj\u00eb akt edhe m\u00eb t\u00eb err\u00ebt dhe mohoi publikisht emrin e Krishtit. Ai u b\u00eb musliman, por kjo nuk mjaftoi p\u00ebr nd\u00ebrgjegjen e tij t\u00eb zez\u00eb dhe d\u00ebshir\u00ebn e tij p\u00ebr t&#x27;i k\u00ebnaqur zot\u00ebrinjt\u00eb e rinj. Ai i dha Pash\u00ebs vajz\u00ebn e tij, Virgj\u00ebresh\u00ebn e past\u00ebr, si konkubin\u00eb, pasi fillimisht u p\u00ebrpoq ta bindte at\u00eb q\u00eb t\u00eb refuzonte Dh\u00ebndrin e saj. E reja, sapo d\u00ebgjoi fjal\u00ebt e tmerrshme t\u00eb t\u00eb atit, u ngrit si nj\u00eb tjet\u00ebr Sh\u00ebn Varvara dhe e p\u00ebrballoi me guxim shpirt\u00ebror. Ajo i deklaroi atij se nuk do t\u00eb hiqte dor\u00eb kurr\u00eb nga emri m\u00eb i \u00ebmb\u00ebl i Dh\u00ebndrit t\u00eb saj qiellor, Jisu Krishti. Ai, n\u00eb vend q\u00eb t\u00eb shtypej nga paturp\u00ebsia e s\u00eb bij\u00ebs, u t\u00ebrbua dhe u shnd\u00ebrrua n\u00eb nj\u00eb bish\u00eb t\u00eb eg\u00ebr. Ai filloi ta rrihte pa m\u00ebshir\u00eb derisa gjaku doli dhe e reja humbi ndjenjat. M\u00eb pas e zhveshi dhe ua dor\u00ebzoi ushtar\u00ebve turq. E torturuan p\u00ebr tre dit\u00eb t\u00eb t\u00ebra, pa mundur ta p\u00ebrkulnin. N\u00eb fund e \u00e7uan lakuriq n\u00eb nj\u00eb kod\u00ebr dhe e varros\u00ebn t\u00eb gjall\u00eb.
