Kointos u lut me besim dhe e \u00e7liroi nga shpirti i keq, duke fituar k\u00ebshtu mir\u00ebnjohjen dhe dhuratat e tij. Sh\u00ebn vinte nga Frigjia, nj\u00eb provinc\u00eb romake e Azis\u00eb s\u00eb Vog\u00ebl dhe jetoi gjat\u00eb sundimit t\u00eb perandorit Aurelian. Q\u00eb n\u00eb f\u00ebmij\u00ebri ai u rrit n\u00eb besimin ortodoks dhe n\u00eb devotshm\u00ebrin\u00eb e krishter\u00eb t\u00eb prind\u00ebrve t\u00eb tij. Kur u rrit, mb\u00ebrriti n\u00eb fshatin Aeolida, i cili n\u00eb Synaxaria quhet ndryshe edhe Neolis. Ata i n\u00ebnshtruan torturave mizore dhe t\u00eb dhimbshme, duke u p\u00ebrpjekur ta p\u00ebrkulnin dhe ta detyronin t\u00eb mohonte besimin e tij. Por ai duroi me guxim, duke u mb\u00ebshtetur n\u00eb hirin dhe ndihm\u00ebn e vet\u00eb Zotit. Pastaj Per\u00ebndia e shfaqi fuqin\u00eb e tij n\u00eb nj\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb mbres\u00ebl\u00ebn\u00ebse p\u00ebrpara njer\u00ebzve t\u00eb qytetit. Papritur ra nj\u00eb t\u00ebrmet i madh q\u00eb tronditi t\u00eb gjith\u00eb zon\u00ebn dhe nd\u00ebrtesat p\u00ebrreth. Nj\u00eb tempull pagan u shkat\u00ebrrua plot\u00ebsisht dhe idhujt ran\u00eb n\u00eb tok\u00eb cop\u00eb-cop\u00eb. Pagan\u00ebt u tmerruan aq shum\u00eb saq\u00eb nga frika ndaluan menj\u00ebher\u00eb torturimin e Shenjtorit. Por ata e lan\u00eb t\u00eb lidhur me zinxhir\u00eb, duke pritur ardhjen e zotit t\u00eb ri t\u00eb qytetit t\u00eb tyre. K\u00ebshtu Sh\u00ebn Kointos mbeti i burgosur, por duke lavd\u00ebruar Zotin p\u00ebr mbrojtjen dhe nd\u00ebrhyrjen e tij t\u00eb mrekullueshme. Nuk kishin kaluar as dyzet dit\u00eb nga ai t\u00ebrmet i madh, kur zoti i ri Kleararchos mb\u00ebrriti n\u00eb Kymi. Ai, sapo u informua p\u00ebr t\u00eb krishterin e rob\u00ebruar, urdh\u00ebroi menj\u00ebher\u00eb q\u00eb ta arrestonin s\u00ebrish dhe ta sillnin para tij. Ai sundimtar mizor urdh\u00ebroi ushtar\u00ebt t&#8217;i shtypnin me forc\u00eb k\u00ebmb\u00ebt D\u00ebshmorit t\u00eb Shenjt\u00eb.
