Dhimitri lindi n\u00eb Filadelfia t\u00eb Azis\u00eb s\u00eb Vog\u00ebl, nga nj\u00eb familje zyrtare dhe e devotshme e rajonit. Babai i tij ishte prift dhe mbante emrin Doukas, t\u00eb cilin disa e atribuojn\u00eb edhe si Dogas. Kur ai nd\u00ebrroi jet\u00eb, n\u00ebna e vetme mori p\u00ebrsip\u00ebr rritjen e f\u00ebmij\u00ebs me edukimin e krishter\u00eb dhe k\u00ebshill\u00ebn e Zotit. Fama e trim\u00ebris\u00eb s\u00eb tij n\u00eb luft\u00ebrat n\u00eb krah t\u00eb turqve ia rriti edhe m\u00eb shum\u00eb emrin. K\u00ebshtu i sugjeruan q\u00eb t\u00eb martohej me vajz\u00ebn e nj\u00eb zyrtari turk, p\u00ebr t\u00eb vulosur postin e tij t\u00eb ri. Ai kujtoi rr\u00ebnj\u00ebt e tij t\u00eb krishtera, lutjen e n\u00ebn\u00ebs dhe prift\u00ebrin\u00eb e babait t\u00eb tij. M\u00eb pas mori nj\u00eb vendim t\u00eb guximsh\u00ebm dhe donte t&#8217;i kthehej publikisht besimit q\u00eb e kishte mohuar si f\u00ebmij\u00eb. N\u00eb mosh\u00ebn nj\u00ebzet e pes\u00eb vje\u00e7are ai u paraqit me guxim para komandantit turk t\u00eb Filadelfias. N\u00eb prani t\u00eb shum\u00eb zyrtar\u00ebve turq ai deklaroi hapur se e konsideronte fen\u00eb muhamedane nj\u00eb mashtrim dhe hoqi dor\u00eb prej saj. Ai rr\u00ebfeu pa frik\u00eb se pranon vet\u00ebm Krishtin si Per\u00ebndin\u00eb dhe Shp\u00ebtimtarin e v\u00ebrtet\u00eb t\u00eb bot\u00ebs. Ata q\u00eb ishin aty iu v\u00ebrsul\u00ebn dhe e rrah\u00ebn pa m\u00ebshir\u00eb para syve t\u00eb komandantit. Me urdh\u00ebr t\u00eb tij e t\u00ebrhoq\u00ebn zvarr\u00eb n\u00eb burg, q\u00eb rezistenca e tij t\u00eb shtypej atje. Gjat\u00eb nat\u00ebs, komandanti d\u00ebrgoi m\u00ebsues fetar\u00eb n\u00eb qeli, p\u00ebr t\u00eb ndryshuar mendjen. Me k\u00ebshilla, me premtime dhe me k\u00ebrc\u00ebnime, ata u p\u00ebrpoq\u00ebn ta kthenin p\u00ebrs\u00ebri n\u00eb Muhamedaniz\u00ebm. Por Dhimitri tani kishte mall p\u00ebr martirizimin dhe mbeti plot\u00ebsisht i pabindur n\u00eb vendimin e tij. I hodhi me forc\u00eb n\u00eb dysheme dhe i shkeli para syve t\u00eb habitur t\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00eb t\u00eb pranishm\u00ebve. Ai tha at\u00ebher\u00eb se, si\u00e7 shkel simbolet e besimit t\u00eb tyre, po ashtu mohon ligjin e tyre. T\u00eb t\u00ebrbuar nga fjal\u00ebt e tij, turqit iu v\u00ebrsul\u00ebn dhe e hodh\u00ebn me dhun\u00eb n\u00eb tok\u00eb. Filluan ta rrahin pa m\u00ebshir\u00eb me gur\u00eb e shkopinj, derisa e menduan t\u00eb vdekur. M\u00eb pas vendos\u00ebn ta hidhnin trupin e tij n\u00eb zjarr, p\u00ebr t\u00eb p\u00ebrfunduar d\u00ebnimin e tij. Por d\u00ebshmori papritur u sh\u00ebrua nga t\u00eb fik\u00ebt e thell\u00eb dhe e ktheu shikimin nga torturuesit e tij. Me z\u00eb t\u00eb fort\u00eb u tha se kishte para p\u00ebr t&#8217;u dh\u00ebn\u00eb, q\u00eb t\u00eb blinin dru dhe ta digjnin. Me t\u00eb d\u00ebgjuar k\u00ebto fjal\u00eb turqit u mbush\u00ebn me zem\u00ebrim edhe m\u00eb t\u00eb madh dhe m\u00eb t\u00ebrbim t\u00eb ri kund\u00ebr rinis\u00eb trime. Ata filluan ta rrahin tani me thika, duke i hapur plag\u00eb t\u00eb thella n\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00eb trupin. K\u00ebshtu martiri ia dor\u00ebzoi shpirtin Krishtit n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb paq\u00ebsore, n\u00eb dit\u00ebn e dyt\u00eb t\u00eb qershorit t\u00eb nj\u00eb mij\u00eb e gjasht\u00ebqind e pes\u00ebdhjet\u00eb e shtat\u00eb pas Krishtit. T\u00eb mbushur me zem\u00ebrim, turqit menj\u00ebher\u00eb desh\u00ebn t\u00eb digjnin reliktin e shenjt\u00eb t\u00eb d\u00ebshmorit t\u00eb ri. Por zjarri nuk pranoi ta prekte trupin e tij, megjith\u00eb p\u00ebrpjekjet e vazhdueshme t\u00eb xhelat\u00ebve t\u00eb tij. Pastaj ata u kthyen me t\u00ebrbim t\u00eb p\u00ebrt\u00ebrir\u00eb kund\u00ebr relikteve t\u00eb tij t\u00eb ndershme dhe u p\u00ebrpoq\u00ebn t&#8217;i shkat\u00ebrronin ato. I thyen duke i goditur me hekura t\u00eb r\u00ebnda, sikur donin t\u00eb fshinin edhe kujtimin e d\u00ebshmitarit.
