P\u00ebr k\u00ebt\u00eb arsye, sapo kishte kap\u00ebrcyer adoleshenc\u00ebn, u caktua nga perandori Konstandini i Madh p\u00ebr t\u00eb qen\u00eb nj\u00eb prej bashk\u00ebpun\u00ebtor\u00ebve t\u00eb tij n\u00eb themelimin e kryeqytetit t\u00eb ri n\u00eb Bizant, qytet q\u00eb do t\u2019ia kalonte t\u00eb gjitha qyteteve t\u00eb tjera, sa i takon madh\u00ebshtis\u00eb (u inaugurua n\u00eb maj 330).<\/p>\n<p>Nd\u00ebrsa shp\u00ebrtheu nj\u00eb epidemi lebre, sovrani dha urdh\u00ebr t\u00eb d\u00ebbonin nga qyteti ose t\u00eb hidhnin n\u00eb det t\u00eb gjith\u00eb ata q\u00eb i kishte prekur lebra, pa b\u00ebr\u00eb dallim p\u00ebr origjin\u00ebn e tyre, p\u00ebr t\u00eb shmangur p\u00ebrhapjen e m\u00ebtejshme t\u00eb saj. I pushtuar nga dhembshuria, sh\u00ebn Zotiku shkoi n\u00eb pallat dhe i k\u00ebrkoi perandorit t\u2019i jepte nj\u00eb sasi t\u00eb madhe ari \u201cq\u00eb t\u00eb blinte perla dhe gur\u00eb t\u00eb \u00e7muar p\u00ebr t\u00eb ngritur m\u00eb lart lavdin\u00eb e Madh\u00ebris\u00eb Suaj, meq\u00eb kam p\u00ebrvoj\u00eb t\u00eb madhe n\u00eb k\u00ebto pun\u00eb\u201d si\u00e7 i tha vet\u00eb shenjtori atij. Pasi mori ar aq sa i nevojitej, fal\u00eb k\u00ebtij marifeti t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb, Zotiku e p\u00ebrdori p\u00ebr t\u00eb bler\u00eb gur\u00eb t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00eb t\u00eb \u00e7muar dhe shkonte qytet m\u00eb qytet p\u00ebr t\u00eb leht\u00ebsuar t\u00eb s\u00ebmur\u00ebt e shumt\u00eb e duke bler\u00eb ata q\u00eb i \u00e7onin drejt mbytjes ose internimit. Ai i \u00e7onte n\u00eb num\u00ebr t\u00eb madh n\u00eb kodr\u00ebn e Ullinjve, q\u00eb ndodhet n\u00eb an\u00ebn tjet\u00ebr t\u00eb Bosforit, ku kishte nd\u00ebrtuar tenda dhe kasolle t\u00eb b\u00ebra me gjethe dhe u ofronte me dashuri p\u00ebrkujdesje dhe ngush\u00ebllim.<\/p>\n<p>Kur Konstanci, partizan i herezis\u00eb s\u00eb Ariosit, u ngjit n\u00eb fron pas vdekjes s\u00eb t\u00eb atit (337), ai nisi t\u00eb persekutonte mbrojt\u00ebsit e Orthodhoksis\u00eb. Oborrtar\u00ebt, q\u00eb ishin xheloz\u00eb p\u00ebr privilegjet e Zotikut, gjat\u00eb mbret\u00ebrimit t\u00eb m\u00ebparsh\u00ebm, p\u00ebrfituan nga rasti p\u00ebr ta akuzuar at\u00eb pran\u00eb perandorit se kishte mendime t\u00eb kund\u00ebrta me t\u00eb tijat dhe se shp\u00ebrdoronte paran\u00eb e shtetit duke u kujdesur p\u00ebr lebroz\u00ebt. Shpifjet e tyre u dyfishuan kur, p\u00ebrve\u00e7 lebr\u00ebs, nj\u00eb zi e tmerrshme buke ra mbi Rom\u00ebn e Re. Sipas tyre, Zotiku ishte p\u00ebrgjegj\u00ebsi i t\u00ebr\u00eb atyre t\u00eb k\u00ebqijave. Duke i paraprir\u00eb vendimit t\u00eb Konstancit, i lumuri u shfaq vet\u00eb p\u00ebrpara tij, i veshur me nj\u00eb veshje t\u00eb shk\u00eblqyeshme, e i propozoi atij t\u00eb shkonin s\u00eb bashku p\u00ebr t\u00eb par\u00eb gur\u00ebt e \u00e7muar q\u00eb ai kishte bler\u00eb.<\/p>\n<p>Kur mb\u00ebrrit\u00ebn n\u00eb k\u00ebmb\u00ebt e kodr\u00ebs, Konstanci pa t\u00eb vinin drejt tij, n\u00eb nj\u00eb procesion t\u00eb rregullt, nj\u00eb turm\u00eb e madhe lebroz\u00ebsh, duke mbajtur t\u00eb gjith\u00eb nga nj\u00eb cop\u00eb qiri n\u00eb duar dhe n\u00eb krye t\u00eb tyre ishte e bija, e cila, e prekur nga lebra, kishte shp\u00ebtuar prej mbytjes, fal\u00eb p\u00ebrpjekjes s\u00eb Zotikut. Pyetjes s\u00eb perandorit, shenjti iu p\u00ebrgjigj: \u201cAta q\u00eb po vijn\u00eb drejt teje jan\u00eb gur\u00ebt e \u00e7muar q\u00eb i japin shk\u00eblqim diadem\u00ebs mbret\u00ebrore qiellore q\u00eb ti do t\u00eb fitosh p\u00ebr trash\u00ebgimi, me an\u00eb t\u00eb lutjeve t\u00eb tyre, o imzot. K\u00ebto i kam bler\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb t\u00eb ndihmuar ty n\u00eb shp\u00ebtimin e shpirtit t\u00ebnd.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00eb vend q\u00eb t\u00eb g\u00ebzohej, ati dhe tirani i pam\u00ebshirsh\u00ebm u pushtua nga nj\u00eb zem\u00ebrat\u00eb e dhunshme e, p\u00ebr pasoj\u00eb, i urdh\u00ebroi ushtar\u00ebt ta kapnin Zotikun dhe ta t\u00ebrhiqnin pas mushkave t\u00eb egra, q\u00eb trupi i tij t\u00eb b\u00ebhej copa-copa. T\u00eb ngacmuara nga xhelat\u00ebt, mushkat mor\u00ebn t\u00eb tat\u00ebpjet\u00ebn, duke t\u00ebrhequr zvarr\u00eb, midis gur\u00ebve, gjembave dhe shkurreve trupin e t\u00eb lumurit. Kur mb\u00ebrriti n\u00eb kish\u00ebn e Sh\u00ebn Pandelejmonit, atij i shkul\u00ebn syrin e djatht\u00eb dhe nj\u00eb burim uj\u00ebrash t\u00eb mrekullueshme buroi menj\u00ebher\u00eb n\u00eb at\u00eb vend, pastaj mushkat kthyen rrug\u00ebn dhe shkuan deri n\u00eb maj\u00eb t\u00eb kodr\u00ebs, e q\u00ebndruan aty t\u00eb pal\u00ebvizura si p\u00ebr t\u00eb nderuar trupin e pajet\u00eb t\u00eb shenjtorit.<br \/>\nNd\u00ebrsa xhelat\u00ebt po i shponin q\u00eb t\u00eb vazhdonin rrug\u00ebn e tyre, ato papritur fol\u00ebn me fjal\u00eb njer\u00ebzore, nj\u00ebsoj si dikur gomarica e Valaamit (Numrat 22: 28-30) dhe than\u00eb se trupi i tij duhej t\u00eb varrosej aty mbi kod\u00ebr.
