Ai merrej me mbar\u00ebvajtjen dhe mbar\u00ebshtimin e pasuris\u00eb s\u00eb madhe t\u00eb zonj\u00ebs s\u00eb tij dhe b\u00ebnte jet\u00eb t\u00eb shthurur, sipas zakoneve t\u00eb njohura t\u00eb Rom\u00ebs n\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb koh\u00eb. Shpeshher\u00eb, duke u dh\u00ebn\u00eb pas dehjes dhe imoralitetit, ai kishte r\u00ebn\u00eb n\u00eb m\u00ebkat edhe me vet\u00eb Agllain\u00eb dhe nuk dukej se e vriste nd\u00ebrgjegjja p\u00ebr nj\u00eb akt t\u00eb till\u00eb. Megjithat\u00eb, ai ishte i mir\u00eb dhe bujar, praktikonte mikpritjen n\u00eb shkall\u00ebn m\u00eb t\u00eb lart\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb huajt dhe u ndante l\u00ebmosha t\u00eb shumta me dhembshuri t\u00eb varf\u00ebrve.<\/p>\n<p>Pas disa vitesh t\u00eb nj\u00eb jete t\u00eb till\u00eb, Agllaia, e munduar nga qortimet e nd\u00ebrgjegjes s\u00eb saj dhe duke pasur frik\u00eb se nj\u00eb dit\u00eb do t\u00eb jepte llogari p\u00ebrpara Per\u00ebndis\u00eb, d\u00ebgjoi nga t\u00eb krishter\u00ebt se ai q\u00eb u sh\u00ebrben dhe i nderon lipsanet e martir\u00ebve t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb, do t\u00eb g\u00ebzoj\u00eb nd\u00ebrmjetimin e tyre pran\u00eb Per\u00ebndis\u00eb dhe do t\u00eb gjej\u00eb faljen e m\u00ebkateve t\u00eb tij. Duke u mbushur me shpres\u00eb p\u00ebr nj\u00eb gj\u00eb t\u00eb till\u00eb, ajo e thirri Bonifatin dhe i dha urdh\u00ebr t\u00eb shkonte n\u00eb Azin\u00eb e Vog\u00ebl, atje ku t\u00eb krishter\u00ebt vuanin persekutimin, p\u00ebr t\u00eb bler\u00eb me argjend lipsane t\u00eb shenjta dhe p\u00ebr t\u2019i sjell\u00eb ato n\u00eb Rom\u00eb. Ende i pandjesh\u00ebm ndaj Per\u00ebndis\u00eb, sh\u00ebrb\u00ebtori dhe i dashuri i saj iu p\u00ebrgjigj duke u tallur: \u201cPo n\u00ebse t\u00eb sjell trupin tim n\u00eb form\u00ebn e nj\u00eb lipsani, do ta nderosh si nj\u00eb shenjtor?\u201d. \u201cNuk \u00ebsht\u00eb koha p\u00ebr t\u00eb b\u00ebr\u00eb m\u00eb shaka\u201d iu p\u00ebrgjigj Agllaia me nj\u00eb ton qortues. \u201cShkunde dehjen t\u00ebnde dhe b\u00ebhu gati me shpejt\u00ebsi t\u00eb madhe p\u00ebr k\u00ebt\u00eb udh\u00ebtim, sepse un\u00eb m\u00ebkatarja po pres me padurim kthimin t\u00ebnd, q\u00eb t\u00eb fitoj faljen nga Per\u00ebndia\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Pasi mb\u00ebrriti n\u00eb Tars t\u00eb Kilikis\u00eb, n\u00eb krye t\u00eb nj\u00eb shpure t\u00eb shumt\u00eb n\u00eb num\u00ebr dhe i pajisur me sasi t\u00eb madhe ari dhe \u00e7do gj\u00eb tjet\u00ebr q\u00eb ishte e nevojshme p\u00ebr t\u00eb balsamosur dhe p\u00ebr t\u00eb transportuar me luks lipsanet e shenjta, Bonifati shkoi n\u00eb amfiteat\u00ebr, n\u00eb aren\u00ebn e t\u00eb cilit pa i habitur torturat e nj\u00eb grupi martir\u00ebsh prej 20 vetash. Nj\u00ebri prej tyre i kishte gjymtyr\u00ebt e shqyera n\u00eb mes t\u00eb 4 shtyllave, nj\u00eb tjet\u00ebr ishte varur kok\u00ebposht\u00eb, mbi t\u00eb tjer\u00ebt xhelat\u00ebt po derdhnin t\u00ebr\u00eb vrullin e tyre duke i rrahur me kamxhik\u00eb ose duke u \u00e7jerr\u00eb brinj\u00ebt me grepa hekuri&#8230; Por gjith\u00eb t\u00eb krishter\u00ebt dukeshin sikur nuk i ndienin fare torturat, saq\u00eb kurtizani i shthurur ndjeu zemr\u00ebn t\u00eb zbutej p\u00ebrbrenda tij. I mbytur n\u00eb lot ra n\u00eb k\u00ebmb\u00ebt e tyre, deklaroi publikisht se ishte i krishter\u00eb. E \u00e7uan p\u00ebrpara gjykat\u00ebs s\u00eb guvernatorit, ku ai hodhi posht\u00eb me p\u00ebrbuzje kultin e idhujve dhe pohoi me guxim Shp\u00ebtimtarin Krisht. M\u00eb pas e d\u00ebrguan edhe at\u00eb n\u00eb amfiteat\u00ebr, ku, fal\u00eb lutjes s\u00eb shenjtor\u00ebve, duroi t\u00eb gjitha llojet e torturave me pandjeshm\u00ebrin\u00eb e atij q\u00eb duket sikur ka dal\u00eb jasht\u00eb trupit dhe \u00ebsht\u00eb i huaj p\u00ebr bot\u00ebn. I fut\u00ebn shkopinj me maj\u00eb n\u00eb thonj, i derdh\u00ebn plumb t\u00eb shkrir\u00eb n\u00eb goj\u00eb, e zhyt\u00ebn n\u00eb nj\u00eb kazan me zift t\u00eb valuar, por prap\u00ebseprap\u00eb ai mbeti i patundur p\u00ebrpara k\u00ebtyre torturave.<\/p>\n<p>T\u00eb nes\u00ebrmen, atleti i Krishtit, d\u00ebgjoi me g\u00ebzim vendimin p\u00ebr vdekjen e tij dhe, para se t\u2019i pritej koka, b\u00ebri shenj\u00ebn e Kryqit, iu drejtua Zotit me nj\u00eb lutje t\u00eb zjarrt\u00eb p\u00ebr forcimin e popullit t\u00eb krishter\u00eb dhe q\u00eb vdekja e tij, sipas imitimit t\u00eb Krishtit, t\u2019i falte faljen e m\u00ebkateve t\u00eb tij dhe hyrjen n\u00eb g\u00ebzimin e p\u00ebrjetsh\u00ebm.<\/p>\n<p>Shok\u00ebt e tij t\u00eb udh\u00ebtimit, fillimisht menduan se, sipas zakonit t\u00eb tij, Bonifati duhej t\u00eb gjendej n\u00eb ndonj\u00eb tavern\u00eb apo n\u00eb vende t\u00eb tjera t\u00eb shthurura, por m\u00eb pas nis\u00ebn t\u00eb shqet\u00ebsoheshin p\u00ebr munges\u00ebn e tij t\u00eb gjat\u00eb dhe filluan k\u00ebrkimet. Ata takuan rast\u00ebsisht n\u00eb qytet v\u00ebllan\u00eb e xhelatit q\u00eb i kishte prer\u00eb kok\u00ebn Bonifatit dhe ai u tha se pik\u00ebrisht nj\u00eb nat\u00eb m\u00eb par\u00eb, kishin ekzekutuar nj\u00eb romak, q\u00eb dukej se i p\u00ebrputhej p\u00ebrshkrimit t\u00eb b\u00ebr\u00eb t\u00eb shokut t\u00eb tyre. Edhe pse u dukej e pamundur q\u00eb martiri n\u00eb fjal\u00eb t\u00eb ishte Bonifati, ai njeri i shthurur, ata shkuan me vrap n\u00eb amfiteat\u00ebr dhe gjet\u00ebn t\u00eb habitur aty trupin e tij, t\u00eb cilin e blen\u00eb p\u00ebr 50 lira ari dhe e \u00e7uan me nderime t\u00eb m\u00ebdha n\u00eb Rom\u00eb.<\/p>\n<p>Nj\u00eb engj\u00ebll i Zotit, iu shfaq at\u00ebher\u00eb Agllais\u00eb dhe i tha: \u201cNgrihu p\u00ebr t\u00eb takuar at\u00eb q\u00eb ishte sh\u00ebrb\u00ebtori yt dhe shoku yt i shthurjes dhe tani \u00ebsht\u00eb b\u00ebr\u00eb v\u00ebllai yn\u00eb. Prite si zot\u00ebrin\u00eb t\u00ebnd, sepse, fal\u00eb atij, t\u00eb gjitha m\u00ebkatet e tua t\u00eb jan\u00eb falur\u201d. N\u00eb kulmin e g\u00ebzimit, ajo mblodhi nj\u00eb shpur\u00eb t\u00ebr\u00eb shk\u00eblqim p\u00ebr ta pritur, sipas profecis\u00eb s\u00eb pavullnetshme, trupin e sh\u00ebn Bonifatit, disi m\u00eb larg Rom\u00ebs, n\u00eb nj\u00eb vend ku m\u00eb pas ajo nd\u00ebrtoi nj\u00eb kish\u00eb t\u00eb bukur dhe t\u00eb madhe n\u00eb nder t\u00eb tij, n\u00eb t\u00eb cil\u00ebn jan\u00eb kryer shum\u00eb mrekulli. Agllaia, n\u00eb vazhdim, hoqi dor\u00eb nga nderimet e bot\u00ebs, ua shp\u00ebrndau pasurin\u00eb t\u00eb varf\u00ebrve dhe iu p\u00ebrkushtua asketizmit e lutjes, duke fituar edhe fuqin\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb b\u00ebr\u00eb mrekulli.
